Similar to Yahtzee, I've never been able to get on board with RTS' at all. I've got several friends who adore the action and strategy of it and I can see the appeal quite clearly but personally don't enjoy them
I try to give all games a chance, to an extent. I used to have WRPGs but gave Jade Empire a chance and now I seriously bone every game Bioware deliver, but I don't think I'll ever find an RTS which appeals to me
Flights sims have always escaped me too. I had Warhawk for PS3 and thought the ground combat was brilliant and I was surprised that the game was so widely overlooked, but I hated the dogfights

Dragon Age: Origins

FF7

Good lord, FF7 was awful and over hyped, and still is because of nostalgia.

Call of Duty and Metal of Honor games.

realistic shooters= not the funnest for me.

i perfer perfect dark (the one on N64) or games of similar ilk. i want to be holding like 9 guns; each of which has a rediculous game breaking feat.
(the farsight XR-20 shot through WALLS. not just one, but ALL OF THEM.

RPGs - Final Fantasy, Mass Effect, the lot. It's just...dull; don't get me started on MMOs.

I have to say God of War. I just find it sort of mindless. I'm not seasoned enough to say how well the controls stand up against other games, but I've heard enough to know that a lot of people highly praise the series. I just find it difficult to get into. Though I will keep trying, considering I didn't like Fallout 3 at the beginning either, and now it is one of my favorite games.

And Super Mario Galaxy. I just didn't enjoy it that much, though I've tried. And I will probably try again.

I also don't care for sports games. Especially that they realise the same game year after year except with different rosters. I would much rather play the sport in real life than play it on a TV.

Zelda. I never got into it. The 3D ones looked okay from an outsiders view but I've never owned or played a Zelda game. Probably due to the fact my Sister (who bought the video games in my family when I was a kid) didn't like Zelda and the fact I never had a N64. So I missed out on the Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

I didn't like the looks of Windwaker. Too much sailing, too cute for my taste. Twilight Princess was the latest game I would have considered but I never got it either.

I missed the entire Zelda series. Don't hurt me.
That's okay. The Zelda's I've played are Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Majora's Mask. I could not, for the life of me, get into Majora's Mask. I hate having times limits. OoT was pretty good, and so was Twilight Princess. I think Wind Waker was my favorite.

Though, I seem to lack a lot of common sense brain cells when it comes to that game, so I get stuck in some of the most ridiculous situations.

Anyways, the point of this quote was for me to tell you that it's all good. Zelda is fun, and definitely immersive (scarily so, for me) but I also missed out on the nostalgia of the series, so I look at it and think that it's not as amazing as people make it out to be. (Especially MM and OoT, though I liked the latter just fine.)

I just don't like Ocarina of Time. I tried, I really did...honestly, it's just 3D zelda. Give me Link to the Past or GTFO.

Also not really a fan of Fallout 3. I respect it from a world building perspective. In that regards it's fucking brilliant, a paragon of it's kind. However, the world just feels so ... dead, and I don't mean nuclear bomb dead. I mean artificial. The game has no soul. The sole part of that game I thought was great was VR vault with that doctor cat. Where it goes black and white.

That was pretty great.

edit

I feel this way about Oblivion as well. Morrowind, while inferior to Oblivion in terms of gameplay, manages to succeed because it has a presence. The world feels alive.

Final Fantasy- Not so much on play mechanics or characters or anything. For me, I happened to fall into a group of friends that were RABID about the FF series. I mean, having FF music for their wedding music fanatical. Seriously. So it became one of those situations where you're around it so much that it just gets to your last nerve.

Also, I own Red Dead Redemption and I'm having difficulty getting into it. I live out west and if I seriously drive like 15-20 minutes north I'm in an area that looks a helluva lot like the opening areas of the game- nothing but wide open spaces, sagebrush and wild animals. Usually I play games to escape reality, not go somewhere I can go on a very boring Saturday afternoon.

And Dragon Age. Control issues. And I am one of those ignorant brutes that is incapable of finding the subtle art of having to effectively pause the game every 10 seconds and direct my entire party what to do, especially when the game also seems to indicate that it's supposed to be a real-time RPG... but like I said - ignorant brute.

TF2. I just can't seem to get into the controls. I just think they are way to fast, and when i play i barely kill anyone because im trying to re adjust cause the players are all running at the speed of light.

I'd have to say Mass Effect 1. I tried to like it. I really did. But, it was just so goddamn boring to me. I barely knew what was going on and I had played for 10 hours and did not see an end in sight. I plan to give it another chance in the future, but I just could not get to like it.

Half Life 2 was also a bit of the same conundrum. A well made game, yes. I actually liked the gun fights and the physics gun. I liked slicing people in half by picking up razors and shooting them. But the vehicles sections were too many, too long. First there was that jet ski, and then I got stuck at the Dune Buggy part and just bailed. No direction arrow? I mean, I'm not stupid, but if you have a huge samey brown landscape, give me some aid to know where I am going. I'll give it another shot down the road some day.

Portal I did like, but I could never finish it. I didn't feel like I was accomplishing anything by looking up youtube videos for how to complete a level. Once again, I may give it another shot.

Also, World of Warcraft. I played WoW on morphine in the hospital after a major surgery, so that must have been a factor. I got to like level 12 and had no idea what to do. Plus, I don't really like paying fees for a game. I may play it again, but it is unlikely.

GTA IV was another disappointment. Don't get me wrong, it was fun and well made. I just couldn't get into the story and characters. Everyone with the exception of "Neeko Beelic" was a complete tool, especially his cousin Roman "Captain Tee-tees" Belic, and their annoying friend Brucie. After a while, I wondered why I kept playing. I always find myself going back to it, and maybe I'll beat it one day.

Halo 3. *Hides*

I've tried it and I don't like it.
Relax, man, nobody's going to flame you. We're civilized. And if I remember correctly, a good percentage of this site doesn't like Halo 3 either.

On topic, I'd go with Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. I just didn't like it at all.
