After playing Fallout 3 more times than I could keep track of, I was looking forward to New Vegas. I didn't keep track of any of the trailers since I didn't want to give in to the hype...too much, this is Fallout we're talking about here.
Fast forward to release day, the cinematic intro excites me even further and I finally get around to playing the game. A few hours in, I was bored. I couldn't help but feel like a bought a gigantic expansion pack.
6 months down the line and I decide to start New Vegas again, considering I had some time to kill. I don't know what happened, but holy hell, it's like I stumbled across the modern Fallout goldmine! Everything was improved, combat, perks, the references, the lore, etc
I felt the Mohave was a bit empty, so I downloaded a mod to increase enemy spawns by 5 or 7 times the base amount. Plus another mod to decrease the experience I gained by 50% since I felt I grew overpowered too early even on Very Hard.
Turned out to be a great and memorable experience. It seems like I just needed to re-adjust to New Vegas's new atmosphere.
