Baldur's Gate

Playing it for the first time I was crushed by the first true enemy, a mere wolf. Nowadays however, even the bosses seem to be easy.

I remember I had stop playing Advance War cos I was stuck at the final mission (sure you control 3 CO's but the boss had more bases and a powerful attack). One day I decided to go back to it because I was bored and I was able to defeat him easily somehow and got an A rank when I completed it.

Jak 2. When I played it as a kid it must have took me over a year to finish since it was so hard for me at the time. I found it in a drawer a couple of months back and decided to play it again since it was one of the best games I owned on the PS2.

I finished the game in 2 days, had to retry a mission 3 times. Shit literally blew my mind

Every Zelda game ever. As a kid the bosses in those games would beat the crap out of me, nowadays I can hardly believe I had trouble on them.

Chaos Legion would be mine. I originally got it on PC, and using the keyboard I got up to Stage 4 with shitty ranks. Acquiring a gamepad I got to the stage with the Plant Boss. Got stuck, couldn't play it anymore because a former friend lost my disks. Recently picked it up again for the PS2 and have gotten at least A+ on the first three stages and have been hit only a few times.

Most games I've found at least a little easier than when I was a kid. Especially Diablo II, I could never get past the 2nd level. And Abe's Oddysee, I tried that game all the time when I was really young, and then when I was 12 I picked it up and almost finished it in a week but the disk got scratched :/ . But there is a single game that I've found a lot harder when I played it about 5 weeks ago, than when I was like 7... Sim City 2000. I don't even know how...

TLoZ for the SNES. As a child: 3 months = 3 temples.

Remake for GBA: As a teenager: one afternoon = 10 temples.

As a kid I couldn't finish Rayman 2 because the last boss was really hard. I recently installed it again and played through it (awesome game btw) and the boss fight wasn't hard at all.

Subversion: The original Mario Brothers and Rocket Knight Adventures completely dick on me now and I completed them when I was about 8.

Suppose i'd have to say i've played the original 2D games so much that they no longer present a challenge to me. Love them, but not challenged anymore.

I never had any troubles with Haunted Towers. Tree Tops on the other hand...*shivers* so many nightmares...

I don't think I ever beat that level until a very long time.

Warcraft 3.
Me and my friends never got past the 6th level in the human campgain (The Culling- but we were 8 years old...), and today I can beat Starcraft 2 on brutal.

Gaming is a skill that you can get better at through training.

The entire Myst series.

That's the problem with puzzle-adventure games...Once you know how to solve the puzzles, you can't really play the game again. You can just go sightseeing through it.

Lunar Silver Star Story for the playstation. Used to think the bosses where ridiculously cheap and probably had over 50 attempts on some of them when i was back in grammar school. Last summer i revisited the game and one shot every boss except one.

I had the complete opposite of this. I beat both those campaigns fairly easily, but then I went online, played a crapton of sc2 and wc3 and got good at it, and now I can't do the campaign anymore :p

I don't know why, but now the campaign just feels really unnatural to me. I'm also not completely sure if the campaign is a meter of skill for an rts, I think online play is actually a better standard to see if you improved.

Gothic II, the devil of my childhood.
While it was (and is) a very good game, I hated it for it´s difficulty. It was relentlessly hard and it flipped the finger when I thought I was safe to explore and threw an orc in my face. Not to long ago, I picked it up and suddenly found myself at the final chapter. How things have changed...

Spyro, I never managed to get to the secret bits at the end when I was young. Now I do it on a regular basis.

Most of what I played (and still cared about)...except Zelda 2.

Recently, I put to rest the demon of the last of the Megaman X series, Might and Magic 7, Front Mission: Gun Hazard.
(I've still got Alien Soldier on the docket; found a real SNES cart at an old games store)

I have no idea how I can beat fucking BATTLETOADS, and still get my ass kicked by Zelda 2. (seriously. fuck Volvagia. fuck all of the 6th temple), it just has my number.
