Red Ninja: End of Honour

It's a good thing no-one else had it, it sucked.
It had its faults, but it wasnt THAT bad. Aquired taste maybe...
Wow, finally someone else who played it!

It was the controls that drove me nuts. They were so damn broken and fiddly... especially the wall running mechanic.

And the camera was a ***** too!
True, but on the other hand it had some interesting ideas which i'd like to see more in stealth games, like the fact you could seduce people, then rip their eyes out muwahaha
Yeah, the main weapon was a clever mechanic too... fire a line into a dude and pull it out, ripping him in half... that was cool.

But Jesus, that Goddamn Buddha temple... haunts my nerd nightmares

Ugh, don't get me started on that.

There was another game, but I can't remember what it was called. It had you as a cop in the future and you use giant mechs. It was very fun.
Do you mean Future Cop LAPD?
That was one only I had. Awesome game.

Team Buddies and Poy Poy (both for the PS1) were other games that no one else I knew had besides me, which was a shame. Both were very fun to play.
Yes! That was it! Thank you. That was annoying me that I couldn't remember.

Gabriel Knight, all 3. Me and this one guy make up our own tiny little GK fan club amongst our gaming friends. None of them have even heard of it. Such a shame. Nobody hoses a southern accent like Tim Curry. He is awesomeness incarnate.

Also Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist. Buggy as hell, so I understand no one playing it, but it was also hilarious.

Soldner Secret Wars- A friend bought it back from Serbia as a gift, a limited sandbox shooter, always the same few objectives, but you could tackle them how you pleased- Snipe, tanks, airstrikes, good fun for a while
Robot Warlords (PS2)- Bought this for my brother when the PS2 was released, thinking it was robot wars. Insted it was a JRPG where you commanded a group of metal gear style walking robot tank things. Actually a good game in its own right

Holy crap. I forgot all about that game. I loved it and played it all the time. Thanks for bringing me back. Gotta love going in a saloon and coming out with a beautiful woman.

That or Ico, it's underrated.
No it's not. It's Ico. ICO! Pretty much the poster child for interesting artsy games. It's spectacularly famous.
Famous yes, but it didn't sell all that well.

Shadows of the Empire for the 64 was a really good game and I bought it because the ad's made it look amazing. I don't know why none of my friends ever heard of it.

Mischief Mayhem I think it was called. For the such a corny looking game it was so much fun and it was very detailed too.

The Thing for my X-Box
Now that was a fun game. I may pop that back in my PS2 sometime soon.

And what many people don't know is that the game is actually the official sequel to the movie. Not that it needed one, but there you have it.

In the same vein, "Cold Fear". Another awesome game that I've never met anyone who's ever played it. Think, "Dead Space" in a fishing trawler, and you're a lone Coast Guard guy trying to figure out what exactly is going on.

Both these games had a gimmick that made them stand out. In "The Thing", to me, it was the trust system. It was really well implemented, and it not knowing if your teammates were infectted gave the game the sense of paranoia that was vital for it to work.

In "Cold Fear" it was the atmosphere. You're in a ship in the middle of a storm. The lighting is mainly from thunderclaps, and what's better, the scenery itself is affected by the storm, meaning you're often fighting for survival in a deck with sliding crates and waves washing you away.

I wish more games ventured into this sort of gameplay.

Secret of Evermore. Still a fun game. Everyone hated it because it wasn't Secret of Mana.
