Pretty much all first person shooters and also Prototype. I thought that game was pretty crappy, overall, especially the story. Was fun at first, but so is Dynasty Warriors, then you realize you are doing the same thing over...and over...and over...and over...and over....and over...and over...

Call of Duty.

Granted 4, was good, but ever since then its been puke in a bucket. The level design is shoddy, the story.... ergh, painful at best. Worth all the "OMG THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVAAAR"? Not even close.

What REALLY pisses me off about it is that if you get a map of a level in CoD: Black Ops its all linear corridors and then cut-scenes, compare that to a level map of Doom (the first Doom that is), And the levels are huge labyrinthine mazes with several ways of getting to the final destination. I am aware that Doom's level design had its own problems, but at least it looked like they were making an effort.

first person shooters, pretty much all of then save one or two, never gelled with me

World of Warcraft, my own personal experience with it is limited, but a game that bores me before i can level to double digits isn't looking at a good write up, the fact its popular confuses me greatly

I don't 'hate' any game, but some have bothered me.

Half-life 2 - I was underwhelmed by it. The story was boring and the shooting sections were long and repetitive. What I did hate were the godawful vehicle sections. Ugh. The Ravenholm bit was fun, but then the game got dull once I left it behind.

Final Fantasy. The only one I ever had fun with was Revenant Wings and Tactics. All the others were too determined to shove stories I didn't care for at me.

I've never played Halo but seen enough to not want to play it, and my experience with BlOps has similarily set me against the series.

If there's any game I hate, it's the CoD series. Why? Three words. Permanent aim assist. It makes me feel like IW and Treyarch are patronising me.

A game I don't like meanwhile most people do would be Fallout 3. It was well done and very atmospheric during the time in the vault. Then, you leave and the atmosphere dies.
You can turn the aim assist off..........:p Its in the main menu in the multiplayer,

You actually hate portal? You hate it? It's not that you dislike it, but you HATE it? Hate is a strong word.

Can't think of any game I actually hate.
Couldn't agree more man, hate is a pretty strong word and, I don't HATE any game just like that.
I do DISLIKE Bioshock 2, I mean the first one was awesome but the second one, sucked.
I don't like Super Street Fighter either and The mario series is one I will never like.

Also PORTAL IS THE BEST GAME EVER AND IF YOU DON'T THINK SO YOU'RE STUPID!

If you know that line you get a cookie.

Red Dead Redemption: lets play a series of mini games over and over where the mini games in question require you to do nothing more than press A to win. Yay!
Umm I'm pretty sure you don't shoot with "A". Anyways, most of the minigames are avoidable unless you are going after outfits.

OT: Definitely all of the Halo games. Didn't impress me at all. Just another sci-fi shooter...
well, the story gets pretty repetitive in what happens. and once you get the first rifle, you have basically unlocked every gun in the game. everything else is just a spinoff on the first guns, 'cept maybe the last pistol you get. not to say i didn't like it, i just got to mexico, got bored, let my bro play it, and when he beat it i felt i didn't need to play it anymore since nothing really that new happened.

and halo was the first sci-fi shooter, and the other games in the series (save halo wars) added a couple new things, but were more or less ripoffs of the original, which was what most people think as the best. (also enjoy all the halo games, but they just aren't THAT different when ya get down to it)

do not get why black ops gets so much praise. don't get me wrong, i enjoyed modern warfare, but the story in black ops, it was just... calmer. the sound editing made everything seem almost empty except for when you shot at someone (or maybe mine was just glitched), and the multiplayer is essentially the same, but with older, crappier, guns and a couple new toys.

Eh, you are right about the story being repetitive after you get to Mexico, but I still don't see what Djinn8 meant about pressing "A" ("X" for PS3) to complete every minigame...?

Anyways, how do you feel about L.A. Noire coming out next month?

Yeah, but multiplayer only and Black Ops only. You can't in the singleplayer or in zombies, so that's two thirds of Black Ops that goes out the window immediately. Oh, and Black Ops is the first game in the series where you can turn it off.

So..........:p

No, I don't think you get it. I mean it has NO atmosphere. It should feel like a wasteland, but it doesn't. It doesn't feel like anything.

Borderlands,
WTF this game bored me to tears and the graphics just pissed me off, I honestly can't see how anyone liked this game.
Alot of people told me to play it with friends but even that was just boring.

COD Black ops,
I bought battlefield BC2 a month before black ops and loved it.
I cannot see how alot of people just overlooked battlefield for COD, I am still a big fan of COD series and MOH series for that matter just black ops was a big leap back.

Diablo 2,
Okay not bad but never got passed even mid 2nd act, boring and repetitive.

I don't hate it, but I've always been kind of lukewarm about Bioware games. I've played most of the way through Mass Effect, most of the way through KOTOR, and a bit of Dragon Age. They're okay, but they don't draw me in enough for me to want to finish them. I've been meaning to go back and play through the Mass Effect series, but don't really have time.

EDIT: Also Sonic the Hedgehog. People always claim the old one is amazing, but I found it underwhelming.
HalfChance said:
Gonna have to agree with you there, I really enjoyed KotOR but I think that had more to do with the "Oh my god it's Star Wars" factor than anything else. Mass Effect I found to be very repetitive and Dragon Age was just dull.

I don't hate them, but I find Bioware games to be boring and I am surprised people like Bioware as much as they do. I've tried to play through Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Origins several times now, but every single time I end up quitting due to boredom.

But I have to say, the Dragon Age 2 demo was fun. I'm not prepared to shell out cash on another Bioware product quite yet though.

dragon age origins:

full of glitches, a silent protagonist, all the characters have the same bodies (old woman with supermodel breasts? i dont think so) the armor would clip through the characters, weapons would float off your back... the list goes on, and it can be summed up by saying that mass effect 2 came out that same year, and its obvious where the talent went to work.

yes it was a good game, and i did enjoy it at times, but its really isnt that good. in fact, i'd say its the worst bioware game i've ever played (before its sequel came out). but with all the hate for dragon age 2, i feel like people are looking back on the first game through some heavy nostalgic glasses, despite it being less than 2 years old.

also, im not a fan of half life, i just played the orange box recently and was not impressed with the 3 half life games on it (yes yes, i know that the episodes are dlc). ya the physics were nice, but at times they didnt make any sense. and i honestly didnt care when something emotional happened (no spoilers). and i feel that, in this day and age, gordan needs an actor, seriously
Wow I thought I was the only one who read these forums regularly that didn't think bioware games were the best thing since sliced bread (DA2 excluded from that statement). This is just from the first page too.....

I don't hate the games, they just don't exactly light my world on fire.

More OT - I never got caught up on the Gears of War storm.

Hate's a strong word, but despite my general like for games that encourage teamwork but don't take themselves too seriously, I've never managed to get into Team Fortress 2. I keep looking at the timer thinking "So, when is this map going to be over?". Like I said, it's got everything I *think* I like, except for the fact that I don't like it. I haul it out about twice a month, just because I keep thinking "Oh, come on, it'll be fun this time."

Similar vein-- I love Bioware's stuff, I grew up with Star Wars, never could finish KoToR. Go figure.
