Shameful secrets time! ...Okay I just ripped this off of the escapist expo videos, but it is a fun question. So, what games do you love that you admit that you love?

For me it would be Dog's Life, a old ps2 game. Spoilering the ramble, it is a bit long. :3
The story is nice and simple for a children's game. In Dogs Life, you play as a dog named Jake, who lives on a farm. Jake has a crush on a lady dog who lives there too, named Daisy. Jake gets kidnapped and you must set out on the journey to save your lady friend.

The gameplay is simple running and jumping broken up my minigames. While you are on your journey you must gather bones(the collectible) to beat other dogs by the virtue of being rich, and as such progress to the next area.

There are three areas, a farmy village place, a mountain ski resort and the city. All of which offer their own types of dogs(there are 52(I think) and they are all different in gameplay), music and quests.

The humor is mostly based around the toilet and is suitable for kids, but still makes me giggle and has since 2003 when I got the game. The graphics are good enough, the animations are great on dogs, but a bit lackluster on everything else. The voice acting is good if not a bit stiff on occasion(Due that one voice actor has over 30 voices, some are doomed to be a bit less good than others), and the music I adore. It is great.

One in particular, a guitar hippy that you find batteries for and starts playing some really funky tunes, I could sit there for an hour to listen to him.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog's_Life <--- That has a few links to different reviews if you are curious.

Sorry about long post. SO! What is your shameful games then my friends?

Well I guess mine would have to be Daikatana. I've been told it was one of the biggest flops of all time, yet I loved the game. I wouldn't place it on any top 10 lists mind you, but I still loved it enough to play through it 3 times. I think just about everyone has at least one game they like that wasn't well received (at least if they are the type to try for themselves), it is the very reason I don't read reviews for a game before I buy it. I just learn about the game itself and decide if it would appeal to me, then try it. Sure, I've been burned a few times, but I've had as many pleasant surprises.

Erm Tom Clancy's Endwar, I guess I was the only one that liked it, even though it was pretty much Rock, Paper, Scissors simulation of war.

Hmm. Offhand I can't think of any really questionable games I "loved".

I didn't LOATHE Diablo 3 and Dragon Age 2, which is a fairly controversial opinion around these parts. I quite enjoyed them, for what they were.

I liked Dragonage 2 so get your lynching crew ready guys! I know it was a rushed, almost unfinished mess but the story and characters actually made it worth playing... Even if the combat was stupid.

I would say LoL to an extent. Some people are of the DOTA 2 persuasion and therefore are probably convinced that i'm some poor misguided fool who needs to be shown the glorious light of DOTA :/

Seriously, the amount of times i've had to say I prefer LoL is pretty ridiculous

I do play too much LoL so w/e people can go on about how shit the game is all they want. I know this is a dick move but which game took over WoW as the most played PC game ever recently? Cuz it wasn't DOTA 2.

[sub]OHHHHHHH BURN[/sub]

The infamous community makes up the rest of it, "ugh, you play that game with the ragers and trolls? Why would you do that to yourself?"

Honestly I don't know. Maybe the pure joy of jumping on people with Nocturne has blinded me... Or maybe that would be Irelia's hilarious ability to not care about CC at all.

Ya see it's more awesome than Olaf's literal unable to be CC'd at all for a few seconds ultimate since that can run out at the wrong time and he can be chain stunned to death as usual.

With Irelia it's a passive that stacks with Merc Treads, with over 80% CC reduction at max stacks. She does. Not. Stop. Moving.

Put simply, "You think I give a fuck?! I don't give a fuck!"

I can't think of anything I'd actually hate to admit liking because frankly most people I know won't get anywhere trying to persuade me that the game in question is rubbish or horrible in some way............and I know I'll catch them playing it later.

Sort of The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age. Not that I actually love it really, but I've played through it like four times so obviously some part of me likes -something- about it.

Jumping on the Dragon Age 2 wagon. I hated the game when I first played it, went back around a year later, overlooked all it's flaws and fell in love. There, I admit it.

SWTOR is another one. SWTOR and I have a weird relationship. I can't explain it, I hate the game, think its developers are borderline stupid, but I play it constantly. I'm pretty sure I will be very sad if it were to shut down its servers.

Resident Evil. I hate to admit I love this series because people automatically assume I mean Resi 4 and beyond. Um, no. I liked the series with it's horrible tank controls and pre-rendered backgrounds. The new games are absolute shit.

Finally, the Just Dance games. I think that one speaks for itself.

I'm not really embarrassed about liking this game, but calling Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door one of my favourite games does tend to earn me a few odd looks. Something about that game....the aesthetic, the various set pieces, the crazy environments, the often self aware humour. I'll still go back and play that game from time to time.

This. For myself it's being able to wander around (PJ's interpretation of) Middle-earth. Heck, at one point you get to walk about Helm's Deep pre-invasion. No other game I have played has given you the opportunity to do that, and I always made a new save there for when I wanted to chillax. Graphics were solid and the effects were good too, even if the story was atrocious.

Oh, and I also loved all those little videos narrated by Gandalf. Can never hear enough of Gandalf.

Someone once got me a Puffy AmiYumi game for the GBA, besides the fact it's a pretty cheap platformer, it's intended for girls with all the pink, colours and whatnots.

Still....it's always in my GB Micro and i tend to play a level once in a while...

Brink. I loved Brink, so stylized, fast paced and fun... (please bear in mind I have never, ever played TF2)

Also WET and the MOH before WF seemed to garner a sizable amount of hate but I quite like them...

Kingdom Hearts, being a now 25 year old male, my friends like to make fun of me for it, but I like the games.

The more games they put out, the harder it is to justify being a fan of the series. I haven't like a game since KH2 and that was only ok.

There aren't any games I am ashamed of enjoying. The "bad" games I own are usually only bad because idiots can't understand them, and the ones that are actually just terrible, I either don't enjoy, or enjoy because they are terrible.

You know Supreme Commander 2 for the 360?
I still play it sometimes.

Is there... is there a support group? Because I need a shoulder to cry on and then nuke repeatedly. That game is mediocre; a horrendous assessment compared to its vastly superior predecessor Supreme Commander, which I possess for the PC. And the Xbox AIs don't pose much of a threat at all. And you can only have 4 players. And it's so lonely winning all the time.

I don't mind admitting it, Final Fantasy XIII. It certainly isn't the best RPG every made, but I though it had good character development, amazing graphics, excellent music, and interesting albiet repetitive battle system.

I know what you mean, KH 2 was the last one I played and I share your thoughts on that, I was just referring to the first game in the series :)

I get a lot of flak for being a fan of it from my friends, but it's all joking around.
