So..I've been trying a smorgasbord of games of late. Here's the scenario: either you've managed a 2.5/3 hours of gameplay a night for a whole week, lets say 9pm-midnight for uninterrupted gaming or Saturday rolls and you truly have all day to play a single game.
Hours upon hours of gameplay.

And you just get soooooo fucking bored. No matter the game, no matter the content or value. 10 hours of gameplay and you wonder if watching soup boiling might be more entertaining, if only for the change of pace.

In the past ten days I've played Amnesia: Machine of Pigs, Pokemon Silver on DS, Shadows of Mordor, Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age Inquisition, and most of all Fallout New Vegas. I was halfway through a quest to help Cass find out what happened to her Caravan and I stopped, anti-material rifle trained on a fiend and I couldn't for the life of me find a reason to keep going.

So my question is this: Is there a game you could play for roughly a week straight and not get 100% bored of? Either through gameplay, plot, terrible characters, it doesn't matter ultimately. Any game you could play for a good ol' length of time and still want to continue

Any game in the Tony Hawk series.
High skill ceiling and fast-paced gameplay.
Also has nostalgia factor for me personally; I still have several of them for PC and they're always the first thing I install.

Any Souls game , the different builds you can go with (except Bloodborne) , NG+ difficulty , and the atmosphere the games set is such a joy to play through.

Mass Effect 1 and 2 and Assassin's Creed Ezio trilogy. I can't get bored of those worlds. I only wish that Mass Effect was a true free roaming experience and that it was bigger. But I love that universe so much I want to live in it.

Mount and Blade: Warband and Crusader Kings II. I play both of those games daily and I haven't gotten tired of them yet. So far I have played 447 hours of Mount and Blade: Warband and 326 hours of Crusader Kings II.

The first Killing Floor. Why? Simple concept that's well executed. The guns are legion and interesting and all the weapons have their own delightful character. The gore provides great feedback when you swing or fire them downrange. The humour is entirely my cup of tea and the voice acting is that very special, brilliant kind of hammy.

EDIT: And now that also applies to Killing Floor 2.

Pirate Warriors 2/3- Best games made for the Warriors series. I get to mass murder thousands while playing as my favorite One Piece characters. How could I not love it.

Mediveal 2: Total War- Best game in the series and a fantastic game. Mods have kept me playing this game since I got it all those years ago.

Viscera Clean-Up- Silliest concept for a game ever, but I haven't had such fun in a long while. I foresee never getting tired of this game.

Well it's a bit odd, I'm a huge PC gamer, but my go-to never get bored of game is usually Legend of Mana for PS1 (I have it on my PSP and PS3 as well) and the weird part is I never have beaten the silly thing despite starting over several times, I never even reached the end boss. I just love the heck out of that game and play it over and over, though usually in shorter bursts.

I want to include Skyrim on here because when it works I can spend hours upon hours playing and not get bored, but every so often when I go and install new mods I irrevocably break the game so hard that my hours of playtime turns into hours of troubleshooting which ends up with me giving up playing for months at a time. When it does work however, it is most certainly my go-to experience I don't bore easily of.

Any game gets boring after a while if you don't take a long break.

Some games are worth getting back into many times, like Civilization 4 BTS and Master of Orion 2.

I reckon strategy games in general have more lasting appeal, because the sessions can develop in many different ways and there's almost something like a story in between the shifting borderlines, that is different every time.

Roguelikes such as FTL also have this to some degree, but the progression in such games are usually much more fixed and the choices you make have less of on impact on anything other than your PCs chance of survival. The randomized levels do help to make new starts a little more varied.

Only a week yeah sure I know for a fact that I have played at least 100 hours of the following games in a week (so technically not a week straight as I had to sleep and eat etc but not bad).

SF2 - Turbo
FFVII
WOW
Warhammer Online
FFX
Soul Calibur (dreamcast)

Its a rare occurrence I play for that amount a week usually it more like 20 hours a week but out of those I got bored of WOW and Warhammr Online pretty quick and I dont play FFX much anymore but SF2, FFVII and Soul Calibur I could still play for the same amount now and not get bored love those games.

I do not think there is a game that wont bore me through that period of time. Maybe when I was younger perhaps. I remember committing was easier then, probably due to lack of options. If there is an engaging story that happens to continuously surprise for a 15 hour stretch. Dark souls 2 and Bloodborne have gotten pretty close recently, but I may have had some aids in alleviating boredem, some might say. Welp, I may be quite demanding, it would seem.

Terraria. You can always build new stuff, styled according to your current mood. It's also much easier to build stuff than in Minecraft, making it feel like less of a hassle to start up.

A week straight? Nothing. But the Dynasty Warriors series and it's spinoffs have a weird ability to hold my attention for longer than most would say they have any right too. I couldn't really tell you why though.

I have over 1500 hours in Tales of Maj'Eyal (a roguelike). I could play that game for months without being bored (and I did)...But it's very time-intensive, especially on higher difficulties, and I just don't have the time right now.

Civilization 5 and Europa Universalis 4 are both games I can play for long periods of time.

Another set of games is the Metal Gear Solid series, or some of the older Final Fantasies.

However, I tend to mix and match hobbies on my days off. A bit of drawing, a bit of internet, a bit of video games, clearing up my room, reading a book, a bit of news, go shopping, learn more Chinese, read some history, etc. Just doing one thing for a long time for the sake of it will burn you out.

I mean, when the new MGS comes out, and when I get Bloodborne, I'll likely have crunch sessions of them, but I'll still get up and do stuff, pausing for an hour or two.

I have just found as I've gotten older, I hate sitting in one place for too long. I like to do more things, be varied. Makes me feel like I'm been productive that day.

Arkham City. Breaking arms and crushing kneecaps never gets old. Neither do sleeper holding thugs and grapple boosting.

So far I haven't gotten bored of Nosgoth. And I've played every single day apart from one and a half weeks when I was sick.
