That mention of Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story for the Mega Drive/Sega Genesis reminded me of China Warrior for the Turbo Grafx-16, one of the other games outside of my pre-teen self's power to finish.
I wonder if it's one of those games that I would finish with ease if I tried it again as an adult or one where I'm left wondering how my young self managed such feats in the past.

"LoZ: Link's Awakening" and "Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins" for the Game Boy back in the days. Guess i simply didn't have the patience to complete them... Damn you puzzles!

Considering the fact that it was one of my favourite games ever. I never completed Splinter Cell(either the first, or Chaos Theory) I couldn't get past the part where you had to disarm the bombs in the bathhouse. I gave up after about a week of trying the same level.

It just got sooooooo boring...
I finshed it after much agony and lack of reward, although I could never do Escape from Monkey Island. Oh how i hated that game so much.

The original crash bandicoot on ps1.
I could only ever get past the first island (barely).
That was one i could do: but "Theaf II" allthough this could be because it was on the hardest mode and i added the little bonus of not allowing myself to kill more than 1 person (that you don't HAVE to kill) per mission before restarting. i kind of frustated myself out of that game i think. im too much of a perfectionist.

Try finishing first on every track on every class, including phantom on any wipEout. It is unbearably tough.
(for the uninformed, Phantom class is six laps at a speed so fast, Sony Liverpool claimed if it was faster it would cause a persons eyes to bleed.)

Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse...Just couldn't get past Bubba...No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't. (That'll lose me a lot of credibility in this community)
I don't remember that level. But yer, to not finish that game is just, sad.

It's like not being able to finish Halo: CE. And they're made with the same game engines.
First time when you meet the rednecks, the final boss is a big redneck with a metal plate in his head and has a chainsaw.

Edit: I didn't finish that either. I got bored of it.
Lol I remember that guy. Don't remember how i beat him though. I think I just used the gut grenades and the head and whacked him a few times.

Haven: Call of the King. Teaches me right for playing an obscure, unpopular platformer that no one's heard of.

Ditto. Got to the second half, few missions in and said no more. All the missions are basically the same.

There was a glitch in castlevania portrait of ruin i noticed after defeating death
I am not completely sure but if you skip the cutscene after defeating him and there are still scythes around if you leave toward the save point the door closes and if you save you cannot beat the game.
If you leave the other way you can but that really made me mad having to restart the whole game.

Well, eventually after ramming down the difficulty setting a couple of times I DID beat it (Mostly because of hours of cash scrounging and the PATHETIC final boss) but I'd say that one of the hardest games I've ever played is Red Faction Guerilla. Because all of your weapons are stupidly ineffective and the AI mows you down within seconds. The Insane difficulty mode is just... stupid.
