-Command & Conquer 4: Because it was terribad. Biggest disappointment of 2010 for me, especially since I used it to break in my first new computer in 7 years.
This.

This. This. This.

I feel your pain, Croutons. I've been a crazy C&C fan since I was 7, and my best friend and I battled each other in Command & Conquer over our dial-up modems.

I even liked C&C 3. I thought EA did a pretty solid job of continuing to series, even if the game was a little buggy from time to time and it did take two minutes to save a game. I also thought Kane's Wrath did an amazing job of bringing RTS controls to a console. The gameplay was crazy smooth, and I loved the siege multiplayer game type both games had.

Then, C&C 4 came out. I don't know who's idea it was to get rid of tiered building and tech trees, but I hope they got fired. I hope they got fired a lot.

*sigh* I'll never forget the day I had to look up the Command & Conquer wiki to see how the series ended.

Oh, well.
Out of curiosity, what's your thought on Victory studios? Rumor has it that they are going to *try* and make a new C&C and do it right. I too enjoyed C&C 3, it won't live up to Westwood's standards but I didn't expect it too. Honestly I expected EA to defecate all over it, but I feel that they did as good as not-Westwood could have done with the game. I even liked RA3 for all it's quirks though it probably should have served as a warning that EA was playing with the formula in the wrong ways.

Oh, also - American McGee's Grimm. I may be cheating since it was episodic and I did finish an episode or two, but I didn't finish the whole series. I liked the art, the weirdo humour, all that stuff - it's just that the gameplay was entertaining for 5 minutes at the most and ultimately I just ended up watching the cliff-notes versions on YouTube for later episodes.

Oblivion: too complicated for me. I usually stay away from WRPGs because there's just too much going on at any given time. I'm really not a multi tasker.

Little Big Planet: Shit controls.

Lair: Shit Controls even after getting patched.

Lost Odyssey: Lost interest after disk 2

Alone In The Dark: Shit controls, drab levels and cheap enemies.

Devil May Cry 4: INSANE amount of back tracking. And playing as Dante wasn't as good as playing as Nero for me.

Myst IV Revelations: I consider myself an adventure game aficionado but that game was ridiculous. I don't know how the shit the creators intended people to solve those puzzles and this is coming from soneone who finished the first 3 myst games with little to no help.

I BARELY finished Mass Effect. It became boring as hell towards the end. But I went ahead and bought ME2. >_>

Final Fantasy VIII - Just could not get into it. At all. IDK why. Love 7, 9, X, X-2... Hate 8.
May I suggest time compression as a reason *rolls eyes*

Personally I can't finish about 2/3 of the games I start. I game hop. Or you could just say I have gaming ADD.

Most recently, I started and didn't finish Super Mario Galaxy, Kinect Sports, NHL 10, Kung Fu Panda, X-Men: The Official Movie Game, Ninety-Nine Nights, Ace Combat 2, and Dragon Age: Origins (although that last one is my second playthrough the game)

EDIT:

Come to think of it, I seem to have the opposite problem. I like too many games just enough to try them but then something new and shiny comes along and ...
I'm with you on the gamer ADD just picking up fallout vegas again to try and finish, but i -never- finish anything, especially rpgs. I spent all my time finding and looting everything and wind up max level before 1/3rd through the story, at least the first fallout that happened, and looks to be on par for vegas. (I suppose finishing the original 2 count? maybe since they had less distraction and time limits on things)

I loved KZ2!

I just couldn't finish Alan Wake and I commend myself for sticking with it until the final chapter, it was just so boring and unscary-an interesting idea where you pick up pages from your manuscript which explain events that have or will occur but sadly it ruined the game: "And thats when I heard the chainsaw"-(cue chainsaw reving) Oh wow, that totally got me by surprise >_>

I also can't seem to start S.T.A.L.K.E.R without getting bored 10 mins in, which is bizarre because on paper it sounds like a perfect game for me.

Just Cause 2.

People tell me that it's a crazy fun action open world game... and yet the tutorial was so boring, I never bothered with the rest of the game.

Too Human. Its. Just. Filled. With. Shit. Too many bad decisions and mechanics. Getting health back is near impossible, enemies NEVER EVER drop healing orbs when you need one, only when you are already have full health. Nothing is explained. This weapon is effective vs., nope. This effect does this, never explained what it does. If it had been like God of war/Ninja Gaiden, THEN it might have worked better.

Oblivion. Well, never found myself completing main quest missions.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2, because of that level where they strip away the squad mechanics that made the game unique and instead sent you in to take out the enemy base all by yourself. What finally tore it was when you were in a room with no cover and many enemies with flashbangs, grenades, and shotguns camping outside the door.

Tales of Vesperia: I got about one hour in, and then decided that the ear-hemorrhaging dialogue, clunky combat, prolonged cutscenes, and immersion-shattering sound was too much to bear (electric guitar? In a medieval fantasy game?).

Far Cry 2's copious amounts of driving turned me off from the game. Permanently.

Diablo... neither the first or the second, both were boooooooring and lacked interesting story and had a too repetative grinding style gameplay for my taste.

fable 3 since it felt like the game f**ked me over when preparing for the end invasion.

Dragon age II because I was so disappointed I just couldn't finnish it.

Shadows of the colossus because... (this has cause me great embaressment, and my friends have laughed at me over and over..) I lost the colossus. I think it was the 5:th or the six:th boss, I engaged it and then I lost it, it was flying around somewhere and that stupid totem-mask thing kep telling me to shoot it with my bow, but I couldn't find the goddamn target... so I quit the game and gave it back to the friend I borrowed it from.

Uncharted - Uninspiring combat and tedious trial and error platforming.

And here's a controversial one

....Half life 2. Honestly it just dragged on for me, own the game both on Steam and in the Orange Box collection on the 360 and have still not got round to finishing it, nor do I even remotely feel motivated to do so.

Crysis 2...

Everything at the very start of that game stunk of a mediocre title being held up by good graphics. First they did the blatant Aliens drop ship scene rip-off, complete with a quote from Hudson. Then the very first achievement is self-servingly titled 'will it run Crysis'. Every little thing about that game just got on my nerves.

I managed about 10 minutes of actual game play after that before I took it back.

Killzone 2 - I don't know why but it just didn't hold my attention.

Homefront - It was as ugly as a swamp pig and had the worst hit detection I have seen in this generation of gaming. The tragic part is that the concept was so damn good. I wanted to like it, I really did but after I realized that all I wanted to do after I started the game was play something else, I decided it was time to shelf it. Maybe Ill trade it in for store credit when BF3 comes out.

Bad Company 2 single player - bleh.

Oh and forgot to add LA Noire to this. I got to the Vice desk till I decided it was far too formulaic to hold my interest, and I don't think I've ever seen a protagonist as unlikeable as Cole Phelps was. Traded it in before I even had the chance to finish it.

Fable 1, I like the fable series, played 2 and 3, but the controls for this game is the worst I've ever had to deal with. I tried on pc, died every five seconds. The dodge command and magic command had to be done fluidly on this one boss battle to keep from dying. Couldn't do it. I stopped playing after that. I rented it for the xbox, couldn't hit ANYTHING. Why were my arrows bouncing off surfaces they should have stuck on? Gonna have to just watch a playthrough of that one.

Legendary, has to be one of the the worst games I have ever played. Story was retarded and the difficulty was just massive. You have to suffer charging, high health enemies for a long time before they finally give you a shotgun. Jesus. Tossed the game at gamestop for a few measly dollars.

Dragon Age 1, played the game totally wrong. Never played team based rpgs so I never utilized my teammates often. Because of which, I found the game insanely difficult on normal and was too proud to put it on easy. The story makes it worth it to go back and play the game right though.
