Games you keep returning to?

Lately, I was thinking about this one (while reinstalling Neverwinter Nights 1):

What are the games that my fellow Escapists return to? Additionally, what keeps you returning to that game?

For me, it's Neverwinter Nights 1, mainly because of all those character builds you can make, and the sheer amount of content that went in the game.

Second place (honorable mention) goes to Mount & Blade: Warband for the vast world full of opportunities it presents.

So what's your pick?

I would have to say Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 3. I never get tired of the mojave and capital wastelands.

The baldurs gate series, nothing beats taking your character from level 1, killed by goblins, to epic level demonslayer.

Mechwarrior 4 merceneries is also a comforting game

Transport Tycoon.

I get bored of it after playing for a couple of days, but I've been going back to it on and off for at least 10 years. I think it is because I really like business sims and Transport Tycoon is simple, I'm good at it, and it is pretty much open source these days, so even if I can't find the CD, I can just download it from wherever I happen to be

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army

I've beaten the game, done everything that needs to be done, yet every now and then I just pick it up and play for an hour or so. I usually don't even get anything done. I just grind and get some Yen or some demons.

Halo reach (shush haters). Best multiplayer for me at least. Perfect matchmaking, many ways to customise a game and great arcade gameplay. Well balanced weapons too. And some great maps. Fun to play alone or with friends.

Plus, been with the series since halo began, not gonna quit it now! ^_^

Halo...so much Halo. Also minecraft, been playing that for the last week or so. And I'm in the middle of developing my own game on the side so I keep playing (more testing, but hey) that about 200 times a weekend.

You could say I keep returning to Heroes 3 but I don't think I am. I don't think I ever leave it to return afterwards. There are just pauses between playing.

What I could say I often return to is Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines. Even though I usually have it installed most of the time, it takes some effort to start playing it (unlike H3 - I could just start a game to kill 15 minutes of free time).

TF2 and inFAMOUS 2. TF2 for obvious reasons, and the extensive creative options offered by the UGC in inFAMOUS 2 usually ensures some fun new content for me to play whenever I pop it back in to my PS3.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, I've always found it extremely entertaining.
Timeshift, I still say it is the most interesting FPS around.
Minecraft, So much to dig.

I guess FIFA and Madden are up there at the top, actually playing madden again now.

But the total war series is always in there too, breeze through a campaign over a couple of days and then head back to other things.

Skyrim right now for me.

I've done everything (Though I need a couple achievments) and yet I find the dragon fights the whole game fun as well.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas. (both with all DLC)
Gears of War series.
Oblivion. (with all DLC too)
Halo franchise.
Bioshock.
Dawn of War Franchise
Dragon Age: Origins.
Half life & HL2 and ep1/ep2
Supreme Commander and SupCom forged alliance.

I tend to dig one of these out when I am between new releases and waiting for something to come out, I do replay most my games every now and then but it seems daft to name every game in my collection. These games are the ones I have consistently replayed over the years

The Jak and Daxter series, Mass Effect 2 (3 will probably join that list soon), Silent Hill 2, Oblivion and Skyrim, the Uncharted trilogy.

And the OP made me want to play NWN. I should get a new coolpad.

Oblivion. I'm not even sure why, but I find that I enjoy my time in-game far more than I do Skyrim. I thought that might change with the SCK coming out, but nope.

Also, Diablo II and Borderlands. I don't even bother taking them off my PC anymore like I usually do with games I only intend to use to kill time over a long weekend.

The old Final Fantasies (FFIV-FFVII) and Chrono Trigger. With the exception of FFV I think I have played through all of them a half dozen times a piece.
