A Cardcaptor Sakura game that will reach US shores.

Fuck, I'd even accept a Cardcaptors game.

Fallout: Washington.
*ahem* Fallout 3?

EDIT: Since when was there another Washington?

You did that just to fuck with us, didn't you?
No, I didn't. I figure that my fellow Escapists would know a thing or two about fucking geography. As you can see by my posts in this thread, the IS another Washington, the REAL ONE. It's called Washington, the other one is called Washington D.C. Fuck.
Sorry, I'm in the UK, I always thought that Washington DC was a city inside the state of Washington (You know, like New York and New York City)

Final Fantasy CLXXXII.
[sub]Oh who am I kidding, that'll be out in a few years....[/sub]

Seriously, I'd like the X-wing/TIE Fighter series to get a long overdue remake. Dungeon Keeper 3, as many people have said. Total Annihilation 2 (RIP Cavedog). Beneath a Steel Sky 2. Afterlife 2. Descent 4. Hogs of War 2. The list goes on and on....

Huh? What system?? No no, I'm very much aware that they were released separately. With the whole lock-on thing, where you could plug the Sonic 2&3 cartridges into the Sonic & Knuckles cartridges to order to play as Knuckles in those two respective games. The thing is when you did that with the Sonic 3 cartridge you gained access to Sonic 3 & Knuckles, which I'm certain was what Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was originally intended to be, but got got short due to deadlines or some other damn thing. The evidence to support this supposition is written all over those games.

Anyway, about Sonic 4, I just look at it and think "isn't this the game Sonic fans have been pining for for the last X number of years?" and to hear people complain that it's still not good enough is mind boggling. Yeah I know it has it's faults, but what game doesn't? The original Sonic games had their faults.[/quote]
Oh, the way you put it made me think that some combination of the two existed. Ya it was pretty obvious that they were meant to be the same game when you run into the same bonus levels, the same shields, graphics and mid stage bosses. And it did have it's flaws, bugs, trapped in walls moments. I can respect that no game Is flawless.
If new sonic is like this I have few complaints. The past years have shown me it could be much worse. My original post was just pining for the early 90's. At least I can always go back and relive them.

A 2D sonic game that doesn't screw with everything that made the original good.
(looking at you sonic 4)
speed, simplicity, interesting bosses, just jump and spin dash.
I would pay $100 for a game with the same 1993 graphics and controls. but they only think these days about the damn kids.
This game will never come out, and thus i weep.
WTF? You people are impossible! Sonic 4 had elements of the old genesis games oozing out of every fucking orifice. If that game had been any more retro, it'd have been a fucking remake!!
...yeeeeash... well there's another group for entry onto my list of people who need good smacks upside the head with 2x4s.
After waiting for quite a while for a decent sonic game, I agree that the last came the closest, and on another note i am loving the shit out of colours. But im not a fan of the abandonment of what i find essential to these games, precise platforming and speed.
Sonic 4 was a joke in both respects. A spin dash of a ledge would bring you to a stand still and you would almost get no speed gain out of using it, i don't get the crazy physics engines these days but it doesn't gel with me. And you needed anything BUT platforming skills even in the later mad gear levels. It was never broken, and didnt needed to be fixed.
And games can be made now without screwing with the old formula, look at megaman 9 and 10. The inclusion of the kids mode in 10 is what Sonic 4 feels like to me.
I am critical, overly so, and i get that. But when a dev team had the winning formula 4 times and then scrapped it to add "tricks" and and an on rails homing attack. I am a little ticked. its like shitting on my childhood, so i believe im allowed to vent.
Save your 2X4 for someone without a valid argument.
Sorry, I was kinda venting too. As a creative person myself, I get kinda sick and tired of hearing fans whine, esp. since most of the complaints are unreasonable. ...not saying that was the case with you, just in general.
As for Sonic 4, I didn't notice any of the things you talked about. Of course I don't think I tried to spin dash of a ledge.
I'm not sure how you can say no platforming skills are required. I had a particularly hard time in the casino level where you had to jump across the flipping cards.

...wait a minute, they had the winning formula 4 times? Oh, you're counting Sonic and Knuckles as a separate game. Yeah, I don't count it as it's own game, more of and expansion pack; because I know that Sonic 3 & Knuckles is the game Sonic Team originally intended Sonic 3 to be.
Ya i always considered them separate because when i was young i got them as different cartridges for my genesis. Did they come together on that system?
And by no skills, sorry i was speaking in sweeping generalities. I had a few tough spots with those cards too. I'm just happy with the lack of 3D sonic right now, and i was expecting something they directly connected to the original franchise run to be something more similar. I'm not looking to hate on an obvious upward trend by SEGA and Sonic Team.

You see the creators and developers of these franchises, regardless of whether it's games, movies, or television, walk a very fine line, we're talking thinner than the hair of a house fly. Do they change the franchise in order to stay innovative and trendy? And if so, what aspects of it do they change? If they don't stay innovative and trendy, the franchise stagnates and the fans whine about it, but if they change too much or the wrong things, the fans whine about it. Either way, they're fucked.

Brutal but still better than actually playing the game...
