I have to say I quite liked Alpha Protocol. Also, the Yakuza series is very close to my heart, but it's appearantly not very popular in the west. The stripped down european Yakuza 3 was also really good despite the lack of several minigames deemed unfit for western audiences. If only we'd finally see "Kenzan!".

I also greatly enjoyed The Force Unleashed. Haven't played the sequel yet, but I'll grab it once the price drops. Other games I enjoyed are Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, Army of Two, Darksiders and that funky cel-shaded Prince of Persia game. I liked the colors and the world as a whole. It was very fun to explore. K&L and Ao2 were simply good, simple and enjoyable shooters. And don't even get me started on Darksiders. The only flaw I see in the game is that Simon Templeman totally should've voiced War.

Oh, I have a couple. The first is Secret of Mana, a game many people who have played will agree is awesome, but seemed to get skipped by many gamers back in the days of the SNES. I don't know a single person personally who has played it, and it's such a shame, it was truely one of the classic JRPGs.

The second is Fable III. I will admit that Fable I and II got stale fairly quickly, but Fable III kept me interested enough for a second playthrough. I was addicted for a good while to that game, but many people feel it's subpar at best. Meh, everyone's entitled to their opinion.

"The kingdom of Myrtana, united by King Rhobar II..."

Gothic. Seriously. The series is marred by the image of the well known atomic disaster of Gothic III,but the first two games are pure gold.

Alpha Protocol, Day of Defeat, Grand Theft Auto (I know it's hugely popular but none of my real-life friends really like it), Bloodrayne.

Some one mentioned Secret of Mana, but I'm going to throw in Secret of Evermore which I consider to be vastly superior (except the lack of multiplayer, WTF?).

I came here to post a popular and liked game that a lot of people seem to fail to understand the brilliance of: Morrowind.

EDIT: Wow, immediately after posting this I just watched the new Extra Credits, and it put into words a lot of the things things I love about Morrowind that I don't think the nay-sayers get. Morrowind isn't about reducing your enemies to a pulp, it's about everything else. You can reduce your enemies to a pulp, but it's hardly what makes the game enjoyable. It's all the details in every other bit of the game that makes it great. Sure, you can't invite your friends to dinner, and a lot of what you do still means making your enemies' pulp more pulpy, but I don't think you will find one person who loves Morrowind who will say it's the combat that drew them into the game.

Fallout: Tactics.

I genuinely enjoyed playing with modified S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats, huge variety of weapons, and positioning my squad in real time. Most people I know say the game's only saving grace was R. Lee Ermey's voice acting.

Kingdom Hearts...

It was like one of the first JRPG's I've ever played okay? ;-;

I hope they make the final one soon, it's been getting worse over the years.

Brütal Legend.
It became on of my favorite games. For some reason most people seem to think it's a bit "meh".

Dark Sector. I think I'm the only person that likes that game.
Incidentally, I'm pretty sure I saw that game as a prize in one of those claw-machine-type things at a highway rest stop. Not really sure what that says about the game, but if you like it, more power to you.

Anyway, there's The Misadventures of P. B. Winterbottom, which no one else seems to have heard of.

Ar Tonelico is a great one that I have yet to run into someone who knows it outside of forums for it.

Mana Khemia is also great

Okami, probably my favorite game since its the only game I've ever really loved playing, and yet when I talk about it friends either haven't heard of it or just dismiss it as an "art game". It makes me sad.

Enemy Terittory Quake Wars, its one of the best multiplayer games of the decade yet hardly anyone has heard of it because Activision decided to release it the same month as COD4.

So true, also minecraft, but that might be because my friends are mainly bricks on feet who could care less about a game with killing not being the focal point.

I really like Battlestations Pacific, but I know of no one else that owns it (I know other people do, just saying I don't know anyone personally that does).

Uhh no. Both Fallout 3/New Vegas and the Mass Effect series are quite popular, it's just that there's a few vocal people who outright despise them on these forums. There really isn't a huge hatedom for them.

Yeah I get that, but again the games really don't have that many haters overall.
