I really hate turn based RPGs, but I really love the mario RPGs, especially Paper Mario. If anyone knows of any RPGs that have similar mechanics to the Mario RPGs, I would love you for life :)

Final fantasy XIII for JRPGs.

Was pleasantly surprised with that although i still wouldn't go out and buy something like disgaea (or however you spell it) or valkyria chronicles.

The only genres I don't tend to like are sports and racing (and those music ones) so:

Project Gotham Racing 4
Madden (Not even American, heh)
NHL Hitz Pro
Rock Band (I'd never buy it though, it's just fun with friends, especially when alcohol has been consumed).

I don't have any hated genres, I just have genres that I play less games in, one of which is puzzle genres, of which suduko or anything similar is my favourite. Brain age was fun too :)

Not a big fan of tournament fighters, but I had some fun with Guilty Gear X on the PS2.

As a general rule, I don't like the RTS genre. I often misunderstand the mechanics and more detailed combat systems. That being said, I like the story behind Brutal Legend. Still haven't beat it, but I'll get around to it sooner or later.

I wish it was an action/platformer, or a feature-length CG film with the same cast.

I hate fighting games, but I liked Super Smash Brothers.

I hate shooters, but I like Star Wars: Battlefront 2.

Maybe it's because these two are so accessible and forgiving.

Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 for third person shooters.

Yes, you can play it in first person but I played it in third person.

Erm...nah. Not here.

OT: I hate button mashers, I absolutely adored the new Splatterhouse. Wha I played anyway. It's so ridiculous!

Merry christmas everyone!

First-Person Shooters: The stories tend to be "okay", which makes me play on, but the mechanics of dealing with the usual waves of enemies in each checkpoint segment tends to grate after only a few chapters.

But Crysis... I played through the campaign twice using different tactics (Run'n'Gun and stealth infiltration) and had a blast both times. Sure, I had to play on lowered settings to get by on my dated system, but I didn't care with how much fun the suit's powers made every fight a new smorgasbord of gleeful destruction. (And I'm actually looking forward to Crysis2 on the PS3, even though I'm not sure how well I'll adjust without keyboard/mouse.)

I can't stand Fps, but I can't put Half-life 2 down.

Also, button mashers are usually annoying to me, but Kingdom Hearts and God of War are awesome.
