Multiple games because my brother got further than I did, and I stopped caring. Also Animal Crossing, because of the Let's Play [http://lparchive.org/Animal-Crossing/].

Deadly Premonition. My 360 decided to crash after a really difficult boss fight (literally five seconds after it)... Never touched it again since I refuse to go through that shit again.

They made her impossible to lock on to! The lock on was the only thing that made the shitty controls functional! WHY?!

Almost UMVC3, I was being really thinking of quiting it for good last night solely because for the last few days i've been matched up with only terrible people, absolute gods and Hulk users. No middle ground

Then I watched the Assist Me video on Vergil, promptly kicked Ammy off my team (sorry bro!) and started to just gush over how fucking cool he is. Even learned he's not quite as punishable as I first thought... Most of the time at least. If someone blocks his full screen hyper get ready for a punish of epic proportions. He has to be a showy bastard and sheathe his sword after it. It takes near two seconds. You can't cancel it.

I have a feeling I'm gonna have to stop teleporting so much though. Probably isn't safe
Ammy and Vergil on my team :D

You'll want to abuse Vergil's reach, his standing H is godly.

The KOTOR series, and by extension, DA: Origins.

The combat system. My God the combat system pains me so.

hmm...i would have to say i tried call of duty but got really bored of it, assassins creed cause the running animations and the italian accents annoyed me, Kotor 2 cause that first level dragged out forever (i did go back and beat it like 8 times same as kotor 1), Duke nukem forever due to the 2 weapon system, halo cause the "fanboys" really killed any momentum i got playing it.

I can relate to that. All the gambling in RDR is painful and not fun in the slightest, especially the poker table at Blackwater. So many hours wasted into winning at that...

OT: I often stop playing RPGs right before the end and I have no clue why I do that. I'm guessing the final grind before the big bad just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

A godly standing H? Where have I heard that before? XD

I need to stop opening every combo with his Stinger (forward H) the punish opportunity on block/miss is soul crushing. I love his full screen hyper though, it's like Fuck Your Assists: The Game. Having trouble getting where he is during the Hyper though... Is he everywhere at once?

And having Phoenix Wright and Vergil on my team is awesome. What have I got? Only the two best Hypers in the entire game! The moment where I cemented Vergil as on the team was when a 60% health Akuma came spin kicking at me from about mid screen, fuck this guy Devil Trigger into Dark Angel lol dead. Best punish i've ever done.

Maximum Vergil is classed as a projectile in terms of counters (Wesker and Taskmaster can't counter it with their hypers), but Vergil moves around the screen. He always lands where he started, so if you started it in the air, he'll be in the same position, just on the ground.

To stop stinger from being punished easily, I either go straight into Spiral Swords, or use his Rapid Slash. Rapid Slash crosses up quite easily, so not a lot of people expect it.

Quit Assassin's Creed 2 because I had to CLIMB A TOWER to CONTINUE THE STORY, with the stupid tower climbing jumping mechanic thing which didn't bloody work properly.

Quit Assassin's Creed 1 because I had to fight AN ARMY OF TEMPLARS despite the rest of the game being based on escaping your enemies and not fighting giant groups.

Possibly The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Not one of my favourite Zeldas, but there was certainly a lot to enjoy in there. The problem was after every single temple you completed, you had to go back to this one temple and complete every level you had there before, plus some new ones, under a time limit. This might not be the kind of thing most people consider deal-breaking but I couldn't stand it. Eventually that made me put the game down and never come back to it.
Oh my god, I hated that! That's how it was for me to. It was sort of humorous (the story) and I enjoyed the story, but then I went back a second time and I just couldn't take it. I turned it off and never played it for another 4 months when I decided to finish it up because it was a short one.

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows starts off excellent and I would've loved to go further into it until this stupid mission where you have to take out dozens of snipers in just a few seconds using an ability you've only just learned with no real room for error.
Well you got farther than I did. I stopped playing because I got sick and tired of being Luke Cage's *****.

Other games I gave up on:
Red Dead Redemption: I just got bored. The game world was too freaking huge and traveling around it was time consuming and arduous. Plus, and I have this complaint with other Rockstar games I've played as well, there was no way to distinguish story missions from side missions. So there was no way for me to know which missions I can ignore and which I have to do to advance the plot. In RDR I kept ignoring all of Bonnie McFarland's missions because I didn't want to bother doing chores on the farm, but then I kept wondering why the game wasn't going anywhere before I finally figured out that you have to do several of her missions to get vital tools (lasso etc.) in order to advance the plot. Way to let me know that game. ¬_¬

I looooove Liar's Dice.

But shitty controls are standard for a Rockstar game, so I assumed it going in. and it nagged me the whole game, but I completed it.

I liked the story enough to forgive it. Much more than I can say for GTA IV.

OT: I honestly can't think of a game I LIKED that I stopped playing for such a reason. I've had a couple games I stopped playing because a system crapped out or they were fatally bugged, but if I like a game I usually see it through, I even checked the thread looking for someone to jog my memory as to one I didn't.

Closest I can get is when I hit a game that stops being fun. I'm thinking Guitar Hero 3, because at some point, I just stopped enjoying it. Even going back, I can play the charts pretty well, but it feels like such a slog.

So yeah, if you count that, probably a few. But not many. And I don't think of them as games I like, because the overall view of the game is kinda...Negative. It's not like "this part of the game sucks, but I love it otherwise."

The first fable.

During the intro village, you find a guy who is behind a barn, cheating on his wife. I figured, I'll go tell the wife. That seems like the moral thing to do. Much to my surprise, telling the guy's wife turns out to be a bad deed.

I don't remember if I told the guy I wouldn't tell on him. I guess breaking my word is a bad thing, but him cheating seems like a comparatively worse thing. Either way, I don't think I was the bad guy in that situation, but the game thought otherwise.

Didn't make it much further than that, maybe about 20 minutes. I don't think the original xbox, much less contemporary hardware, have the ability to apply human logic to moral choice systems.

I stopped playing Rage because I got screwed out of an achievement.

I don't play games for the achievements, but I do like to get as many as I can. I wasn't enjoying Rage as much as I thought I would, and this was just the straw that broke the camel's back. It was the collectible card achievement that I'd been working on getting since the game started, only to be screwed out of it because I missed one in I a place I couldn't go back to.

Thing is, I saw the damn card, too, I was just in a fight, and didn't have time to get it. When the fight was over, I'd forgotten about it.
