I've taken a break from my Shadow/ICO HD package because, for all the greatness that is SotC boss battles, those horse rides just BORE ME TO FREAKING DEATH.

I'll definitely pop it in again and finish it... eventually.

I've said it before. And I'll say it again.

The Runey system from Rune Factory Frontier can go !@#$ itself.

That game was awesome. The PERFECT Harvest moon game. The controls and visuals were smooth, the farming was fun as ever, the monster combat felt like it really belonged in the game, and the villagers were fun to interact with.

Then the game demands that you waste 2-3 in game hours babysitting these stupid elemental sprites and their annoying food chain (water runeys eat rock runeys, which eat Tree runeys, which eat grass Runeys). If you don't manage them, they'll die out, and your farm will grow slower, and your crops will die sometimes. And the tool they give you to manage these things is a slow-ass vacuum with a long animation and barely any accuracy at all. You can't choose how many runeys to suck up, you can't increase the pathetic range, nothing. It's a MASSIVE chore.

The only way to make it bearable is to set up one area of town to produce only grass runeys, and then put all the areas into prosperity (which makes the runey food chain stop, and makes the area generate more and more runeys, while lowering the numbers of grass ones). But if you do so, then your crops start growing way too fast, and it feels cheap. Plus, you STILL have to waste time gathering excess runeys from prosperous areas, making sure that your grass area keeps making grass runeys, and deliver grass runeys to the prosperous areas to keep them prosperous.

I put up with it for as long as I could, but I finally lost my patience with it. I was honestly considering modding my Wii so I could get the "cheat channel" so I could fix this.

And that, Escapists, is how Rune Factory Frontier broke my heart. The BEST harvest moon game EVER, ruined by one stupid mechanic.

Fallout 3, I when you learn that you need something to purify the ocean of radioactive material. RADIATION DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT. It's been 200 years, so most of the extremely dangerous radioactive materials will be in very small amount, it's the GODDAMNED OCEAN, dropping every atomic weapon would barely affect the radioactivity of one of the great lakes, let alone the fucking ocean. And it's set on earth, so it's not like Bethesda has the excuse of saying it's in another universe. Not to mention if they wanted to 'purify' the water, all they needed to do was create a proper fucking filter.

God I hated that so much. Companies need to do their goddamned research if they want to set a game on earth.
Well Bethesda has never been good with writing just making a large place with a lot of padding. A lot of people also have a problem with Little Lamplight for not making any sense as well.

The Darkness 2 because of the damn light-holders. I wouldn't have a problem if
1. the bastards weren't always surrounded by guns
2. they didn't move and
3. they weren't so damn hard to hit with guns

Amen, Brother. That's the same reason why I had quit Rune Factory Frontier. Damn, I love the game and all, but those runeys...I think I cried on more than one occasion. And having to do the whole "Grind giving flowers to iris so you can actually move deeper into a dungeon" was just extra weight on the "Quit" scale.

I had the same problem. You know what I did? ITALIAN VOICE SETTINGS! Yay!

Only problem, the snarky british fellow became a snarky italian fellow... Not being racist, but it lost alot of character from that.

I stopped playing League of Legends for about 2 months due to the community of players. My god, the stupidity! Give them friendly advice? "**** you r-tard" Command them on what to do since they don't seem to get it? "Herp derp gonna feed now" Explain the basic principles behind a team based MOBA? They rush in as a mage and decide they can tank the entire team and promptly die. Then at the end you get told how bad you are by 5 other players due to being lumped in with a team of idiots that either don't understand you, or are so spiteful they will lose on purpose just to make you angry. AND IT WORKS.

Plenty of games, but I'll mention two:

Deus Ex: Human Revolution. After being forced to fight the second boss while only having the augmentations to sneak around, incapacitate and hack like a boss, I thought "screw this game if I'm being made to fight these asswipes. I thought this was supposed to be Deus Ex, not an entirely different game". Thankfully, The Missing Link addressed my grievance, but I would have much preferred if the DLC combined with the main story.

Vampire: Bloodlines. The game was all right at first, but once I got killed by a psychopath with a severed arm for a club, I quit (primarily because my character is a socialite capable of seducing, but can only drink upper-class blood, and not built for combat).

Well I'm not sure if it counts as a stupid reason, because I thought it was a pretty good reason.

I stopped playing Just Cause 2 because, to me, everyone sounded like a really annoying and poorly acted stereotype.
My name is Boooloooo San-Toooooseeee, I am the leeedaaar of the revolutionary armeee known as the Reeee-paaaars!

I have no idea what you're talking about, the voice acting in Just Cause 2 was AMAZING! So long as you're ok with poorly acted stereotypes!

OT: I gave up on Star Fox Command for the DS. Mostly because it used the touch screen and stylus to control the Arwing. I know that you have to accept a certain amount of touch screen gimick when playing a DS game but this just made the game near unplayable.

I also couldn't play Rage because I was so expecting it to be like Fallout 3 that it broke my mind when I realised it wasn't. I just couldn't shift my expectations when I realised it was so linear and I just traded it in after a few hours play.

Though if you don't like Italian accents wouldn't that make it worse? How about changing it to German or Spanish? That's always fun!

OT: I stopped playing Enter the Matrix after a stupid car chase level where you had to chase after a plane. I could never ever do it. Years later I actually managed it though and I love that game despite a few flaws.

I have quite a large list coming up, so stay with me.

Red Dead Redemption - system froze out of blue, so I loaded most recent save, then thought, that isn't the most recent save, that's ages ago. (hours of work lost, couldn't do same missions twice)

Lost Planet - I really don't know what made me quit this one, but stubbornness made sure I never picked it up again.

Dragonage origins - Morrogan, god damn her she was annoying.

Star trek legacy - great game (for a tie in to IP from another media) But no online activity ever.

Fifa games - Repetitive, and I can't really muster up the fire in my heart to play it out of competitiveness

G1 jockey (old game) - Never ever won rookie jockey of the year (not exactly most important game objective ever), tried about 30 times but that smarmy idiot always won.

League of Legends due to it's community. God I just couldn't bear it anymore. I loved the game, I loved the champions, I loved everything about it but people can't just keep their fucking rage in when in front of a keyboard, every time you try to play a ranked game people are just yelling at each other all game, and as a consequence, play worse. It's just sad.

Also Fallout 3 because GFWL just makes it decide to break and lose your progress every hour or so.

Well, Heroes of Newerth- I liked it, but the community is one big rabid entity that doesn't make any sense.
then there's Gothic 1- I loved it, but the game ended for me before the final dungeon, where a bug prevented me from continuing (that bug couldn't be fixed)
Neverwinter Nights 2- because it was painfully stupid.
Fallout 3- never completed the main story for the same reason as mentioned above.

Mass Effect because I couldn't decided who to let die on Virmire. Then again when, on Virmire I got out of the Mako to kill some mooks, and when I got back in it spazzed out and killed me.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. I just can't stand the main character in the first part of the game Micah. I just hated how she view her nation is in the wrong despite they were the one who invaded the other nation in the first game. Sorry but I don't sympathy those who cause so much suffering in the first place. I hated her more that she view Ike as the villain where we all know he's the hero of the game.

You can complete the game at level 1.
Being all eclectic with your build won't help you much, but by no means does it make the game impossible.
Now that would be a challenge and a half...
You are right, it was more me being too impatient with an area. I have had better luck with Dark Souls, I'm about to kill Gwyn on my NG+

Ocarina of time - Rage-quit very early on because of the controls and combat system

Dragon Age: Origins - Once again, the bloody combat system

Borderlands - Lost sight of the meaning and general goal when given so many menial quests, so I stopped playing for a bit. Might try again at some point.

Might think of more to add on later, but these are all I have for now
