What??? There's hate for Mirror's Edge and Darksiders? Both those games are brilliant and all I've heard from others is that they are great too, apart from their small shortfalls which I don't think are an issue at all. In fact I think the perspective and controls for Mirror's Edge were very well executed, and that even though Darksiders took almost all it's mechanics from Zelda I haven't really seen any other games in recent years that have done that kind of style, so I think it's actually kind of unique in that it steals Zelda's ideas! The sequel also seems to have a lot more originality than the first, which is great.
But I feel compelled to add an opinion that hasn't been said already, so I'll go with... Need for Speed Carbon. I admit that the handling model was ill conceived, but was still enjoyable in the right car, and there was FAR too much motion blur (it just looked like tunnel vision) but I still found the game fun. Oh an also Test Drive Unlimited 2. The servers were totally broken at launch, but they have been mostly fixed now. Yes, the voice acting is abysmal, and totally unnecessary too, but I love having such a huge area to drive around in with other people driving around too. It makes the world feel populated. The handling model is nice and solid (most of the time), if a bit crude, but still manages to spit in the face of the handling models on so many recent NFS games, which is something people seem to totally ignore. The graphics are also very nice. Very sharp and crisp, and very bright and colourful too.
