All of the recent Call of Duty games. I never hear a good word said about them, but I think they're wicked.

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex. It's not AS good as 3, but that doesn't make it a bad game.

Darksiders. Yes it's an absolute kleptomaniac, but I preferred it to most of the games that it stole from.

Mirrors Edge, i dont get all the hate for it
Huh. Actually, I had the opposite experience. Everyone I knew LOVED the game to death and looked at me like some kind of failure because I despised the thought of staring down when I wanted to go forward.

What??? There's hate for Mirror's Edge and Darksiders? Both those games are brilliant and all I've heard from others is that they are great too, apart from their small shortfalls which I don't think are an issue at all. In fact I think the perspective and controls for Mirror's Edge were very well executed, and that even though Darksiders took almost all it's mechanics from Zelda I haven't really seen any other games in recent years that have done that kind of style, so I think it's actually kind of unique in that it steals Zelda's ideas! The sequel also seems to have a lot more originality than the first, which is great.

But I feel compelled to add an opinion that hasn't been said already, so I'll go with... Need for Speed Carbon. I admit that the handling model was ill conceived, but was still enjoyable in the right car, and there was FAR too much motion blur (it just looked like tunnel vision) but I still found the game fun. Oh an also Test Drive Unlimited 2. The servers were totally broken at launch, but they have been mostly fixed now. Yes, the voice acting is abysmal, and totally unnecessary too, but I love having such a huge area to drive around in with other people driving around too. It makes the world feel populated. The handling model is nice and solid (most of the time), if a bit crude, but still manages to spit in the face of the handling models on so many recent NFS games, which is something people seem to totally ignore. The graphics are also very nice. Very sharp and crisp, and very bright and colourful too.

Bionic Commando, the remake on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Yeah, it was flawed and pretty much just came out as another "meh" linear third-person shooter... but I enjoyed the music and the terrible B-movie quality it had. Awesome laughs and gigantic plot holes. Over-the-top bosses near the end, too.

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. I just got it the other day and I rather like it.
I've never really heard any hate for this game. I thought the game was great. Sure, it was kind of annoyingly dark and emo at times, but the combat system was vastly improved from the previous game, and it was a lot of fun.

A Bug's Life for the PsX. It got a 4.8 when it was released many years ago, but for some reason I love the gameplay so damn much.

The Xenosaga trilogy on the PS2. Well, it's really more that most people that I've talked to just don't know what it is. I'll admit that the 2nd one had its' issues, but it wasn't god awful. I guess it's just the kind of game that takes a certain personality to enjoy. You need to have a high tolerance for anime aesthetics, and the trappings of anime in general.

Incidentally, if they ever made a Xenosaga cart racing game, I'd pre-order it in a heartbeat.

I get a lot of shit for Angry Birds from "hardcore" gamers, but honestly it's one of my all-time favorite games.

Aside from that, I really enjoyed FF4: The After Years, which was panned. I also liked the original Ninja Turtles game as a kid, which AVGN ripped apart (fairly).

Rise of the argonauts: i actually enjoy the gory combat and the dialogue even if sometimes there is too much of one and not enough of the other

Fable 2 : The combat system was fun enough if shallow in comparison

Fable III : Now this one... there was so much potential in that Ruler part of the game, i enjoy buying real estate, gathering millions of good in my personal safe in the Sanctuary and then transferering it to the Royal one so that i good make the good choices AND save everyone. The very exinstence of this defeated the purpose of the already shallow but potentially instering moral dillema at the end but it still was fun

Marvel Nemesis, for no other factor than "I had fun playing it", and I guess Guitar Hero:World Tour based on same factors.

Chrono Cross.
I don't think you read the topic title correctly. Chrono Cross is a popular and generally loved game. Yeah, CT is way more popular and more often regarded as the superior game of the two (for good reason IMO), but it's generally regarded as an excellent game, but an atrocious "sequel" (even though it's not a direct sequel).

On-topic =
I honestly can't think of anything at the moment.

Fable 2 to me was terrific. The atmosphere, landscapes, music and other things really made me like it alot. Fable 3 on the other hand...

The Modern Warfare series gets a ton of flak, but I enjoy playing those games (even with how frustrating it gets sometimes).

Not love, but I have a found spot in my heart for the abysmal Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects.

That said, I don't blame anyone for hating it.
I actually, I liked it as well. Not really "love", but definitely "like".

I really love Lara Croft and Tomb Raider. Granted the later games were pants but 1 and 2 were awesome when I was 16. I seem to have this idea of the character as intelligent and capable whereas everyone else just says she is a pair of boobs.

Was I playing the same games? :|
