Painkiller - A celebration to Quake and Doom. It's fun as hell to run around and kill everyone who gets in your way. No direct objetives, except the killing.

The Movies - I don't quite understand why everyone hates this wonderful game. It's original and fun. Take control over a filmstudio and make your own movies. That is fun stuff to do and fireing alot of actors.

XIII - A cartoon-ich game with a great plot and the graphics it is great.

Final Fantasy VIII, my favorite of the series

Chrono Cross, my favorite game of all time, seems to catch a lot of crap just because it isn't Chrono Trigger

Killzone, great underrated FPS, I had a great time in online multiplayer and was amazed that it had characters I actually cared about (odd in a FPS). Go Hackha!

The only games I love that every hated or were just severely under appreciated were:

1. Beyond Good & Evil (Severely Under appreciated.)

2. Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (Don't know anyone else who liked it, the combat was absolute horse shit, but I absolutely loved the story.)

.hack//G.U. - The only problem is you can't PK your own party members. Asta and IYOTEN have it good.

I was disappointed to learn that it isn't a sequel, and when I played it I found the combat system to be needlessly convoluted and confusing. The game didn't instantly grip me the way Chrono Trigger did, and I didn't get very far before calling it quits.

I'm an adventure gamer. I really enjoy playing through games for story, and I like cutscenes.
Shivers, Phantasmagoria, and Blackstone Chronicles are ones I enjoyed, but most current gamers can't stand.
I loved Phantasmagoria, but not the sequel. I thought the sequel was too far a departure from the first to keep my interest. But I still remember fumbling through the intense ending sequence of Phantasmagoria going "gonna die, gonna die" over and over.

As for games I like that others don't, FFVIII, FFXII, and (at least among my circle of friends) Kingdom Hearts. That last one far less in the real world.

Jade Cocoon. I wouldn't say people hate it, but when i mentioned it to my friends they had no idea what i was talking about
Yay someone else who realizes how amazing that game was. I have the same problems with my friends of them not even knowing of the game. But I still hold it as my most precious game in my collection I have the original manual and casing. Though a shame how #2 wasn't what I hoped for and very unlikely for a sequel

For me that would be Rainbow Six Vegas and Vegas 2.
What cruel, cruel world do you live in?

For me, I'd had to say LEGO Indiana Jones. Everyone either wants naked women and sex, or violence. Not to say there's nothing wrong with it, they both are awesome, but everyone that I know hates puzzle games. I thought it was a fun puzzle game, like a fresh gulp of variety.

I know this sounds strange, but it's GTA III. I was playing GTA III some time ago in a gaming cafe (or however you call places you can get a drink and play games) and some of my friends we're sitting next to me. I entered the cheat for all weapons and beaten a granny to death with a baseball bat. Guess what. They were disgusted. I mean, seriously, they play shooters where your main objective is to shoot everything that moves, and they're disgusted because I killed some old hag on the streets of NY?! I mean, come on, what gives?! Oh, and also there are a lot of other douches that don't like GTA games because the "excessive violence" and "outrageous amount of blood" and play Manhunt or something (!?). They act like my mom, for god's sake (except she doesn't like Manhunt)!

FUN FACT: When GTA Vice City was released those guys that sat next to me where the first peeps in town to go kill the whole neighborhood. Talk about IRONY!

That, my great man, is narcissism in a really wierd way. Narcissism because they hated the game, because you played it, not them.

Wow, I think I just invented a new class of that disease.

Final Fantasy, all of them. Everyone seems to have a beef with at least one game from the series, like FFVIII, FFx and FFXII
indeed

FFVIII - gets slated, but it's probably one of my favourites of the series
Final Fantasy Fans! High-five! (VIII gets slagged for that wtf last half of the game clusterfsk of logic ... and Rinoa. It was my first completed FF *tear*)

Yeah, I'd say that would go for me too. Kingdom Hearts, as well.
