1. The original Donkey Kong. Loved playing it with friends and family. But because I was young back then, I never really sat down just to beat it.

2. Dragon Age:Origins. I always wanted to play a RPG that kind of had a story like LOTR and this was it for me. Raged at the ending because I rushed through the story and in the end my character pretty much sucked @ss. I'm thinking about playing it again from the start now that I have some free time. And actually take my time playing it.
Well the original Donkey Kong is a pretty tough game to beat, ain't it? First, to not cheat, you need the original arcade machine with factory settings. I don't think the NES version even has an ending. Not that the Arcade does. The only 'ending' there is is the kill screen. And with Donkey Kong, that's a ***** to get.

In the european/US release it's on the 22nd stage, 117th screen, while in japan the screen is number 85. Not many people who have done that exist. Billy Mitchell and Steve Weibe being two, if I recall correctly.
Wow I'm retarded lawl, I was thinking about Donkey Kong Country and typed original Donkey Kong. But yeah I played that one too and I didn't know that it's almost impossible to get an ending in that game. Thanks for the information, I actually want to try it now ;)

A few more titles I have played but never finished:
Grim Fandango
All the GTA games (Always stopped playing them after a while)
Final Fantasy VI
Half-life

Darklands. Game has one of the best character creation methods ever. Most of my games involve creating a young, inexperienced party. Spending a few days in the city you started out in beating on hooligans for gear and pocket change, leaving town on adventure and promptly getting killed by the first or second group of actual brigands you come across.

Fun times.

There are VERY few games that I haven't finished (even fewer since I refuse to play multiplayer before finishing single-player) but one that I loved but never finished was Chromehounds. The multiplayer by itself was the game, and they weren't afraid to admit it. The campaign was just a way of tutorializing the different archetypes.

And Heroes: Might and Magic V. I loved it when I was younger and can barely remember it but I do remember it being an awsome experience for me, considering I despise Turn Based games that aren't Civilization.

I have a list.

Yakuza 3, the long scenes of dialog kind of diminish my desire to play.
Fallout New Vegas, only being capable of doing one path at a time REALLY messes with my OCD.
Skyrim, taking my time but have generally the same problem as Fallout New Vegas.
Kid Chameleon, 103 levels is insane for a game from 1992 on the Genesis and they get confusing.
Streets Of Rage 1-3
Golden Axe 1-2
Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic Spinball, and Sonic 3D Blast.
Alien Storm
Alien Syndrome
Gain Ground, I get pretty far but I get stuck on the same level which seems impossible.
Odin Sphere
GrimGrimoire

There's more, but I'll save myself the embarrassment lol.

Chrono Trigger. It's an awesome game with an awesome soundtrack and an even more awesome story line, but it's just so damned BIG that I tend to get distracted with something else before I finish and forget that I was doing a play-through. I think I got as far as the Black Omen in my most recent play-through.

It still torments my soul that i never finished Primal, i made it all the way to the last boss fight years ago, but i could never beat it.
Oh wow! I completely forgot about Primal. Definately one of mine, I absolutely loved that game and can't even remember why I never got around to finishing it....Thanks for the reminder, thats the rest of my evening sorted =)

Skyrim would be my other, 107 hours in and still just exploring and doing side Q's. Ended up playing SWTOR and never got to see the end...I do intend to go back to it at some point.

Hehe, it is quite alright, I got to use my mildly sarcastic "I am more of a nerd than you"-jackass voice, which is always fun. :p

Yes, most old-school, often considered "endless" arcade games have an ending. The kill screen, where the game basically just breaks on you.

Here is a few for your enjoyment:

Battle For Westnoth, because it gets really bloody hard when you get close to the end.

Earthbound for the same reason.

Baten Kaitos for some unknown reason. I was less than an hour away from beating that game then I just stopped, since I just borrowed it from a friend I've never had the chance to actually complete it. That makes me kinda sad.

Do not even try to go through Sonic 3 or Sonic & Knuckles alone! Get the complete package! Do the lock-on of Sonic 3 & Knuckles! Even on Steam, they have them locked together!

My list is: Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Skyrim, Oblivion, and KotOR. I could have said Saints Row the Third this morning, but I took care of that a few hours ago. All other games I've at least beaten the campaign/main story at least once, which is what I count as beaten. The main reason I haven't beaten the games on my list is extreme laziness except for in KotOR in which case I... wait, no, it's laziness.

Battlefield 3, the single player portion almost made me throw up due to the total lack of creativity and immersion - stopped a few missions in and I don't ever plan on continuing.(Love the MP though ^-^)

Vagrant story I got really far but then my save got corrupted then there is Neverwinter nights I just got to a point where I was so powerful I barely had to do anything as my summons and henchman would kill everything straight away so loot had no importance and the story was crap so I just stopped even though it was a great game in so many ways (despite being piss poor in others)

King of Fighters XIII and Blazblue continuum shift damn I love these games but I really really suck at them I just havent been able to finish the challenges or got round to unlocking the full story on either.
