Topic title really says it all.

Me for example, I love the MegaTen franchise, but I can't stand my fellow fans sometimes. Whether it's the ones who just whine that every game they release isn't Persona 5, the ones who automatically assume everyone who plays the games are just as big an anime watching Japanophile as they are.

I'm sure everyone has at least one series they love where they can't stand the fans. What's yours?

Oh geeze, I'm not sure I know where to begin. Almost every game I enjoy has people (and I use the term loosely) on both sides who are raving lunatics that just refuse to leave well enough alone and feel they must try to "convert" the other side. It's reached the point where I just shake my head and walk away.

Pretty much all games. Excitement is one thing...but people just take things WAAY too far. I've never played a game without meeting some crazy fucking fans for it.

Resident Evil fans. I get that the old school games were great but god damn is it a crime they tried something new?

Fallout. I loved the games enough to become an Admin on the wiki; became disgusted with the fanbase enough that I quit after a few months.

If its not broken....

New IP is a place to try something new, IP that has a formula that works should stick to that formula. Just my opinion of course. Also 9/10 times these changes are made not to enhance the game but to try and bring the game to a wider audience, which usually means diluting the quality of the gameplay in my experience.

Tf2 fans are really bitchy, Sonic fans can be freaks, and COD fans are a bunch of spoiled brats.

I love Dragon Age (Even 2) and Mass Effect, but I HATE Bioware fans. That's why I never use their forums.

I love Battlefield, but the fans do get a bit too proud that they are playing a game that isn't call of duty and just boast on about how its a better choice.

DotA (Defence of the Ancients); I absolutely love the game, but most of the fans are poopyheads.

Call of Duty could be a better game if the community didn't abuse everything in the game.

Kinda like how Battlefield would be a better game if people didn't spam Carl Gustavs with Explosive Weapon Damage.

As the one of the only "Call Of Duty" fans here, I'm going to say: "Call Of Duty". For two reasons: One, they refuse to try anything new because they believe that "if it's not 'Call Of Duty', it's not fun;" which, as we all know, simply isn't true. And two, because it also makes them think that "if a game doesn't have multiplayer, it's not fun;" which isn't true either! I played through all three (current) console "Assassin's Creed"s, but most of the people at my school didn't pick it up until "Assassin's Creed Brotherhood". Gee, why did they pick this one up? Oh, MULTIPLAYER!

COD and Battlefield.
Except i don't really 'love' those games so much more than i tolerate them.
But both fan bases are REALLY annoying, i should know, my brother is heavily into COD, and he's a twat.

Mass Effect fans.
Because they keep insisting that it's an RPG, when it CLEARLY needs it's own genre.

It's like they think the loss of the brand RPG would be bad or detrimental to the series. It's so much more than that, and the RPG elements are usch a small part of the overall experience.
Mass Effect could do what MGS did and invent a genre, the Epic genre, which already exists in books and movies and fits the game perfectly.
But nooo, these asshole fans are so stupid, by insisting it's an RPG they're holding the game back under the delusion of trying to defend it.

I can understand that. But when the same people that bashed Resident Evil 4 for changing the formula start praising it and bashing Resident Evil 5 for basically the same thing makes me want to face palm my desk. I believe their is nothing wrong with a popular IP trying new things to bring in a larger audience. As for Resident Evil as long as they keep the cheesey dialouge I'll still love it. Personally my favorites of the series is 2 and 4 for different reasons.

Every single game. Fanbases aren't annoying, people are annoying. Obviously larger fanbases have a larger amount of idiots, so we're going to see a lot of people saying COD, Bioware games, Valve games etc.
