Bushido Blade for the PlayStation 1 was one of the greatness sword fighting games ever. Way of the smauri is awesome, but Bushido Blade VS. mode was the coolest thing ever. One shot head strikes, crippling or maiming your opponent's every limb, fighting in a copse of bamboo stalks that get chomped down as you go...I wish that was a series they had run with.

This thread's definition of no one is pretty loose, or is it based on personal known people?

Beyond Good and Evil - I only know one other person in this town who has played it. In that case it counts. So many of you here seem to have played and loved it. In that case it doesn't count.

Valkyria Chronicles - I didn't love it, but I just want to point out that it's the same situation as above. Fans of this game need to get over themselves for owning and playing it.

In fact all these games have sold thousands, good enough to gain a strong cult following. Some even got so much fan support, they really are getting a sequel so many years after production. Call that no one? Example of this is Golden Sun.

Baaahhhh I hate this topic. Why am I posting here then? Because I want to talk about how awesome The Darkness was. No one seems to have played that :p

Heavy Gear 2, for the PC.

If you've played it on a local server with some good friends then you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Especially with unlimited threat turned on.

Dark Cloud 1&2
Ratchet and Clank series
Jak and Daxter series

Most of my friends have never even heard of these. And the ones that did said that they were "stupid" and "childish."

Blood Omen 2 (PS2)
stiff controls but still damn good game

Resident Evil (Gamecube)
Well, it was Gamecube so of course ignored by most people but whether a fan of the original or newcomer this is refined Survival Horror. Even if you knew the 1996 version back to front they have changed enough to make it feel fresh yet keep enough the same for it to be nostalgic.

Tomb Raider Legends/Anniversary/Underworld (PC)
OK. I have been a hardcore Croft-fan since the mid-90's (yes, I know what you are thinking... THAT hardcore) but seriously no other series is going this adventure/platforming/puzzle/shooting. Sure Uncharted is similar but closer to Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider is it's own little thing. Hmm, Anniversary, Resident Evil, lots of remakes here.

Harvest moon: a wonderful life
Big mutha truckers
dragon quest VIII: journey of the cursed king (awesome by the way)
Lego Battles (who would have thought that lego would make the first good RTS that wasn't on the PC)

Cobra Triangle - Well known and popular game that is rare today because people ruined the cartridges.
Except that I live in one of the only territories in the world where the NES didn't sell very well. So I only had one friend who had an NES but ten who had Master Systems.

I also suggested Moonbase Alpha. I can't even find an image of it on internet so I'd say it's pretty rare and safe to say no one has played it. And it was good. You'll have to take my word on it. This is all I could find -

http://www.sc-3000.com/index.php/Poseidon-Moonbase-Alpha-adventure.html

Also, I can't imagine where you got the idea we're just saying we played these games because they supposed to be 'cool'. I've played Okami, Psychonauts and Killer 7 but didn't list them because (1) I know a couple of other people who have played them and (2) I didn't love them. I don't find them cool at all.

And cult classic is generally defined by being something that attracts a devoted group of followers or obsessive fans, despite having failed commercially on its initial release. Which means not played by that many people. I guess you could start up your own thread for games that 'you loved but literally no one else has played'. It would be the most exclusive coolest thread ever. You could start by adding 1990 Nintendo World Championships: Gold Edition and Moonbase Alpha if you've played them but I've played Moonbase Alpha so that might eliminate it.

Darkest of Days. I found it to be a very underrated game let down only by poor graphics.
Darkest of Days was a frickin' excellent game, it pisses me off that practically every reviewer out there gave it a bad score.

Seriously, ANY game that can make a gunfight in the Civil war fun deserves a 'somewhat above average' score in my books.

I'm assuming that not many people played these games, because I never saw any mass coverage of them, but I could be wrong.

No, tons of people did (it's the second most popular recent Casual Timesink other than Peggle), but who here played the original Tropico? Anyone?

Oops, maybe I should have said none of my FRIENDS played it. Sorry.
