Legend was excellent. I found Lara to be a half-likable character, and Zip/Alister are always a welcome combo.

Call me crazy, but I loved NFL Street 2.

That's right. The one with Xzibit.

There was a great co-op career mode that me and my friend took approx. 2 years to beat, and we definitely played through that more than once.

Mine include -
Rocket knight adventures - Megadrive-Genesis
Okami - ps2-Wii
and Body Harvest - N64
Played them all!

Rocket knight is hard as hell, but the music is awesome. Never beated it even on easy.

Okami is just gold. Pure gold. Except the F-----G digging minigames!

Body harvest is.. HARD, frustrating, flawed, and yet its fun and the vehicles are nice in the soviet era. What suprised me is that i could take vehicles from one sector and bring them over to the next and they would stay there.. pretty much forever (until i shut the game down) so the game engine is quite good.

..
As for me, i know of no other who played Magic Carpet 2. That game is awesome, and still is much funnier than most games i see today. Well, im biaised like that, i just love it.

An old PS2 J-mech game called Zone of the Enders. Had the same graphics engine as MGS and was blisteringly fun. STUPID story, but fun gameplay.
Zone of the Ender's was amazing.

Anyone ever play the original Bangai-O? I had it then and I have it now, one of the most fun shoot 'em up game I've ever touched. (Yes...I touched it. It enjoyed itself.)

Grim Fandango for me. Absolutely *adored* that game (the story, the music, the characters... everything was perfect), but no one I talk to ever seems to know the game (which is a shame, I believe).

Darkest of Days. I found it to be a very underrated game let down only by poor graphics.
Darkest of Days was a frickin' excellent game, it pisses me off that practically every reviewer out there gave it a bad score.

Seriously, ANY game that can make a gunfight in the Civil war fun deserves a 'somewhat above average' score in my books.
I know, right! You know I'm sure that if it came out at a time when other games had the same graphics, It probably would have gotten amazing scores from reviewers.

ROTT was awesome, you could play as a character called Ian Paul Freely...!

Really going back now, aproximately 95/96 there were two awesome racing games on the Amiga. Skidmarks and the sequal Super Skidmarks - You had a wide variety of vehicles to pick from (including cows on wheels) and could choose to add caravans to them. Plus during the loading screen you could play an acid trip version of pong...

Well... there are Robotech: Battlecry and Robotech: Invasion on the Xbox.
I don't remember anyone else on these forums talking about them.
I had quite a bit of fun on those games. And they are somewhat linked to my lost past, so I need them...
I really enjoyed the heck out of "Battlecry" (FINALLY a chance to fly a Veritech!).. Was really disappointed in "Invasion" though. Very mediocre HALO retread.

Yaergh. "Zone of the Enders". SO Much potential. Hate that game, though, because of where the story cuts off. Just felt like it was incomplete.

StarLancer

Nifty little space combat sim. Controls were hell with keyboard and mouse, but once I got my hands on a USB joystick I found the game quite enjoyable.
YES! Someone else who has actually played Starlancer! Another great offering in the same vein as "Wing Commander" from the Roberts' brothers. I really wish more people had played it. It was quite cool. Loved the German Ace.

War of the Monsters for PS2, such a rare, under-rated game. None of my friends at the time or since has ever played this game. Come to think of it i have never seen it mentioned on any Escapist forum ?

Yeah, but hardly anybody played it on PC. Much better on PC with high resolution and shooooooth 60fps framerate.

Back in the day when the first Tomb Raider games came out they were considered as much PC games as consoles games... but PC just isn't as "marketable" as consoles now, even though it offers a superior gameplay experience, and yes, you can use a gamepad on PC if you want.

Not that I love them to death but I do own some games that deserved far better than rot in the bargain bin after a week.

- Lost Odyssey (it's got everything you've been searching for in the new Final Fantasy games)
- Deadly Premonition (It looks like a PS2 game. Play it anyway, the experience's awesome)
- Parasite Eve (talk about epic...)
- Xenogears & Vagrant Story (the awesomeness of these PS1 games will make your head explode)
- Project Snowblind (designed as an action spin-off for Deus Ex)
- Darkwatch (cheesy, yet great FPS)
- Killer7 (survive the first level and you're in for a crazy, uncomparable experience)
- Legend of Kay (features the worst voice actors I've ever heared in a great, long game)
- Gabriel Knight (movies pale in comparison to this game's writing and voice actors)
- Enchanted Arms (pretty bad game but got addicting because of cheesyness)
- Lunar Silver Star & Lunar Eternal Blue (lighthearted RPGs with a stunning cast)
