Mass Effect 2 comes to mind here. I loved ME1, but not instantly. I was in love with ME2 once i put the disc in. Fallout 3, Red Dead Redemption, Dawn of War:Dark Crusade and Unreal 2k4 also come to mind. I fall in love with alot of games quickly (sometimes too quickly), but these stand out in my mind

my mind comes to rest on Resident Evil 5, Beyond Good And Evil, Kingdom Hearts, Shadow of the Colossus, and WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007 for some inexplicable reason.

Today I bought Split/Second and even though it doesn't have that many tracks and isn't that long, I positively love it. From the first race I was left sitting with mouth agape, it's just epic racing fun

That I can remember?

Mass Effect 2, Batman Arkham Asylum, and Deus Ex. I bought that last one through a steam sale since I heard all the stuff about it and I soon knew I was holding evidence of God's existence.

Well, I generally LOVE games when I first play them. The question for me is do I still like the games after I beat them once or after a few years.

Games that I loved instantly and still like... jesus so many...

Team Fortress 2.

I just love the art-style and the genuinely funny humor throughout every round

When I heard the opening song to Final Fantasy X, I instantly wanted to play it even more.
Same for me. The opening cinematic and the opening song are the things of dreams, ey?

Disgaea (the first, the others not so much) No More Heroes, Infamous, Uncharted, GTA3, GTA:VC, GTA:SA, GTA2 (my first GTA) Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, Persona 3 and 4 (which I really need to play more...) Saint's Row 2, King of Fighters 2006. Split/Second...at least until episode 9...I just can't seem to get better than 6th place on that damn elite race to move on! UGH!

To be honest the only games that I instantly love are sequels to games that I already knew were awesome. God of War 3 comes to mind. Actually now that I think about it, that's the only game I loved instantly. I didn't even love my all-time favorite (RE4) the first time I played it. I remember thinking at the beginning "how did this beat God of War for game of the year?"

Space Empires III & IV

Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl

Says more about me than it does about the games. Although they are awesome.

Morrowind, Neverwinter Nights, Company of Heroes, Men of War, Sins of a Solar Empire, Threadspace: Hyperbol, Shattered Horizon, Dawn of War, The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom, Mirror's Edge, Freedom Force. Oddly enough, when I first played tf2 (I had bought Orange Box for hl2 and portal) I didn't like it. 1 year later I played it and am loving it ever since.

The kingdom hearts series, splinter cell chaos theory, and the No More Heroes series. All had good gameplay and were/are fun as hell to play.
