Oh yeah, I just remembered one that you MUST play!

Black & White
Black & White 2 is fine too but it's the first one that was many years ahead of its time.

Just posting a list is no fun, guys. You should talk about why the games you're talking about are great.

Starsiege: Tribes and Tribes 2 are what games like Halo and Team Fortress 2 dream of being. They've got better vehicles than Halo, better classes than TF2, and are, in fact, superior in every single way except maybe graphics to every other tactical FPS ever released. (Tribes: Vengeance does not exist. It never happened. Shush)

Also, Total Annihilation. Make sure you add in the 5k unit cap mod. Massive swarms of everything, laying waste to your enemies! Muahaha! (I haven't actually played SupCom, but I'm pretty sure my computer wouldn't be able to handle 5k units with today's graphics).

Jagged Alliance 2. Don't try the steam version though, the ballance of money is totaly off in that version... and install the 1.13 mod while you're at it.

Double Dragon got mentioned, conqueror kenny threw down the gauntlet, I'll expand:
Streets of Rage 2 and Turtles in Time need to be played, incredibly smooth and dynamic stuff in those games. Both are also really fair. Movesets have been expanded and in particular SoR2 can be played very differently if you play to the strengths of the character chosen.

A genre that hasn't popped up yet, strategic RPG
Shining Force 1 and 2 (play either one), the grandfather of the genre, it took them over ten years to finally match these gems with FF tactics.

And something that hasn't been mentioned either:
Dynasty Warriors 2 or later, there is simply nothing like it. However bland it may become you should have played one of these at least once. I'll guarantee you'll have fun for at least a few hours, whoever you may be.

Ed Hunter. If you can see my avatar and can't tell why, either you've led a very sheltered life or there is something wrong with you.
I have that and thought it was meh at best. A true example of how well metal bands can sell out. It had some Iron Maiden playing on loop the whole game though so I have to give 5 stars :).

Hogs Of War.

The only PS1 game I still have from my original collection. (Not counting ones I re-bought due to nostalgia).

The only example I can think of a game that just never gets old. It's still a staple of group drinking/gaming sessions.

I enjoyed some of the command and conquer games, especially red alert 2 - The first game I ever played online.
