God of War and Saints Row 2 are the big ones. They're good games and I pretty much enjoyed them, but I just never got around to finishing them for some reason. I also never got to finish GTA: San Andreas, but that was for reasons beyond my control (mostly involving the theft of my Xbox), but I recently obtained a new copy for PS2, so it'll probably get finished eventually.

I have a stack of about 11 xbox360 games unfinished.

it includes:

Fallout new vegas (expansions downloaded, not done, but main quest finished).

Final Fantasy XIII (got it day it came out, played 2 hours, saving it for that one week where i'm stuck on a desert island)

Red Dead redemption (game decided it didn't like my progress and deleted me back a few missions, havn't picked it up since)

Lost Planet (Am i the only one in the world who found that game incredibly difficult?)

Star Trek Legacy (one mission with timed asteroids always beat me, i even re-started and played through picking different ships, trained myself up a bit, let others try to do it, but nothing)

Oblivion (done the main questline, but without doing the mages guild, it feels incomplete, but i always get kicked from there by glitches).

And quite a few more.

I have games i've never even played on steam (yes i know very bad, but i never find the time).

I have about 100 unfinished PS2 Games, i think the very first game i failed to finish was probly a PS2 title, thats when games wern't a once a year luxury for the first time in my life i think.

Fallout: New Vegas - Making into NV was a pretty cool goal, had fun until that point. Once I arrived, I just lost interest. I couldn't give a rats ass about any of the factions, the quests I had open or even my 'revenge' for getting gunned down. I realized I was in it for the sight-seeing tour only.

2 Worlds: A bit the same. I realized I could put up with the clunky engine and bad animations, story, dialogue and combat because it was a damn pretty trek through the fields. Eventually I got bored of it all.

Silent Hill 4: The story took too long to grab my interest. At one point it just couldn't help me bear the combat and interface and I got bored. This one I regret, I hear the story really comes to life towards the end. I also end there are ghosts that make the game unsuferable by that point.

Oldest game I've never finished is Battletoads. If you're someone who has beaten that game without using save states or cheats, my hat is off to you.

Also, I was never quite able to make it through Pacman or Frogger. They were really fun for a while, but after a few hours it just felt like the designers ran out of ideas and basically had you do the same annoying fetch quests over and over again. And neither of the stories went ANYWHERE.

There have been numerous games that I've played and stopped. It would be neigh impossible to remember/name all of them. I'm better about it nowadays compared to years ago, but it still happens from time to time.

The most recent game I quit would probably be Fallout New Vegas. Not that I dislike the game, as I do enjoy it quite a bit. But I pretty much stopped playing that and everything else when the Gears of War 3 beta launched. I did plan on starting it back up earlier this month, but the exact day I planned on playing was the day they released that patch that broke the game. That has killed my desire to go back to it for the time being. I will later this summer, just not right away.

FF XII, give me a good modern turn based final fantasy thats what I want, real time means nothing to me. I did beat XIII though but it was a bit easier to get into

It was originally released for playstation, but is now free, open source, and on PC!

Warzone 2100- I play the skirmish mode, I don't spend much time on the campaign so I never beat it.

Jet Set Willy, that game was literally impossible.

More recently Bioshock 2, Dragon Age, Black Ops, Oblivion (played it a lot but all those gate things, no thanks), FEAR 2, Assassins Creed, Bulletstorm, Dead Rising 2, Dead Space, Dirt2, GTA 4, Split Second.

In the olden days there would be plenty of games that you wouldn't finish. Someone has mentioned Battletoads already, an early classic from Rare that was as hard as Bruce Lee's nipples. I also take my hat off to anyone who can finish the second level of Viewpoint on the Neo Geo.

Contemporary gaming is kinder, developers want us to finish and aren't trying to get extra 10p's/quarters etc out of us. I usually finish games these days and I'm often disciplined when I start new titles, but I never finished 'Splosion Man (irritating/overly repetitive by third section) and I stalled near the end of The Last Remnant, though I shall finish that one day.

Well, I just finished Far Cry 2 a couple weeks ago, which I got on Christmas of 2009. It was a great game, but it didn't draw me in. I eventually saw it to the end and it was great.

Deus Ex: I can't get past the first level. I'd make more of an attempt to finish it if my inventory didn't screw up every time I died.

Company of Heroes: I just can't finish this one level, and it's been so long I don't even remember which it was.

Soldier of Fortune 2: F***ing hate grenades.

Unreal Tournament 3: This is weird because I absolutely loved the entire series, but I've lost interest now. Now that I think about it, I never completed any of the series' campaigns.

Any Final Fantasy game. Seriously, those games are probably the closest thing to a pokemon game. Pokemon games are practically impossible to finish in a legit fashion because they are practically endless. Same with Digimon World for the PSX. I've only gotten to my second digimon and I stopped because my digimon "died" and I forgot to save for at least a good half-hour.

Hmm.

Wild Arms 3
Wild Arms 4
Wild Arms 5

I love the wild arms series, but I always get far in the game, nearly to the end boss.. then just give up. The games are great, but they have a tendency to puzzle me off from playing. Which is a real shame. The series needs to realize people play it for the RPG in the game and not the puzzles. I don't know a single wild arms fan who likes the puzzles.

Legend of the Dragoon, Lost Odyssey, Fallout 2, and fuck-all, Morrowind.
The last one is the only one I don't regret. The fucking Ashlanders pissed me off. I killed all of them and never picked it back up.

I'm sure there were plenty of crap NES games I never finished. The one that really gets me though is Snake Rattle and Roll. I loved that game as a kid, but I just could not beat the final level. You're on the moon and you have to lick a giant foot to death while dodging meteorites. Yeah, it makes as much sense as it sounds. The other one that really bugs me is Hexen. I've tried so many times to get through that game, and it's a pretty decent game, but I always get distracted on the third hub and move to something else. A game left unfinished for the last 15 years. I should probably finish Deathkings of the Dark Citadel too.

There's plenty of other games I need to go back to as well, damn Steam sales. I buy a game on sale because it kind of interested me, then the next day they have a sale on a game I really wanted to play so I switch to that.

Ninja Gaiden 2: The difficulty curve on that bastard pissed me off to no end.

Boarderlands: I nearly finished it but got bored because of the power ups on my shot gun where sh**

Full Throttle: I suck at keyboard controls

American McGee's Alice: because again I suck at computer games.
