I have boycotted... UbiSoft games, EA games, and Activision games.
That's like half of the industry gone. What the hell could've screwed up your opinion of those three major publishers so much? And who in their right mind stops buying such a large chunk of games from our industry because of the publishers?
DRM,A-holes and bad business structure. Maybe he got other reasons for his boycott but this is why I don't buy games developed by them(some game published by them I do on occasion buy so not a total boycott).

And every god damn game that market themselves as action-horror.NO it can't be both and work well GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEAD ALREADY.

I don't boycott, I don't give that much of a shit to restrict myself from playing games I want to. Besides, it hardly matters if you boycott or not, and no, moral victories don't count.

i refused to play JRPGs. I've NEVER found one that i enjoyed. I bet ill get hate for this, but I've never even touched a Final Fantasy game.
Similar here. I've tried many JRPGs including FF 13, but they are just as Yahtzee says, "All about androgynous teenagers killing Satan." At least all the one I've tried.

Oh, and I tend not to buy map packs. I'm happy buying single-player DLC, being the proud owner of every piece of ME, ME2 and Oblivion DLC, but I never buy multiplayer DLC.

Halo. Tried the first one and HATED it. I can honestly say that it is the worst FPS ever made.
Yay for presenting your opinion as a fact and coming across like a bit of an ass!

OT: I won't play the original Bioshock. I tried it, it was horrible. The only reason I played the 2nd was because it actually played nicely.

Anything put out by EA since Mass Effect.

Final Fantasy VII, and any Final Fantasy after X.

Oblivion. I will NEVER be that bored.

CoD. I don't like it when the game is just about shooting and nothing else. ITS BEEN DONE SO MANY TIMES. My friends keep telling me I'd enjoy CoD but I just don't care if the single player isn't up to standard.

I would say Halo. I've tried Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo Wars, and the Halo Reach beta. None of them appealed to me. I can't find the appeal of the series. It strikes me as a very average first person shooter.

Interesting that you saw Halo Wars as an average first person shooter.

As for me - sports games. There's not much I'll flat out avoid. To say "I played the first Halo and I didn't like it so I'll never ever play another Halo game" comes across as dickish and frankly pretentious.

Oh. I'll tell you what else I avoid. Kingdom Under Fire, Circle of Doom. I do not like that game. I've tried to play it. I really did. I tried so bad. But...I couldn't understand it. Nor did the gameplay feel very good. The whole thing was a mess.

Any RTS game.

I only have a laptop so I can't really play too much on it without having the screen freeze up in mid play. Also, even though End War had a good layout, I feel as though RTS's don't work well in the console environment.
I've cut myself off from RTSs too. In my case, I just can't micromanage in the middle of a battle. Maybe if I found a game with fewer units that were easier to target with my mouse...

Alright, you caught me there. I had written up my post, and then realised I'd forgotten Halo Wars. I did enjoy it to an extent but I was definitely not blown away by the game.

I think I speak for most of us when I say that I refuse to play anything made by Zynga. I've already heard too much about their business model to willingly make myself one of their victims/customers.

It was pretty average for an RTS. However, in its favour, it was accessible and the units did feel like Halo units, as opposed to Red Alert with Halo skins.

Yeah, I can agree there. I never owned it, and only played it on a friend's console. It was very, very accessible. Even a complete newcomer to real time strategy could get into it, hence why I was able to play it. It definitely had the same Halo character but I just couldn't find anything to love about it.

This^^

Also WoW because I'm not a big MMO fan. In fact I don't like shooters at all. Least not on console I don't. I can deal with them more on PC but still don't like em that much.

None. I think every game has something to offer even if its only to point out the ways it goes wrong. I would play Barbie Horse Adventure if I thought I could get some notes on game design out of it.

Ocarina of Time.

Seriously, I can't stand those fucking Skullturas, they produce nightmarish sounds and they are hideous and creepy (And that comes from a guy who plays Silent Hill from 1 to 4 with lights out and headphones as well as the "brick-shatter" Amnesia).

Apart from that, I refuse to play any JRPG, MMORPG and Modern Warfare.
