It's basically all in the title.
These are games that you acknowledge are good, even great, but you just don't play them for whatever reason. Mine is Mass Effect. I have alot of friends that play it, but I just don't. I understand it's an epic sci-fi game, and I've tried to like it, I WANT to like it but just never clicked with me when I played it. I'm not trying to find some smug way to say it's bad, I'm aware it's great and probably better than half the games I play, I just don't know why I don't like it.
But enough about my sob story, tell me yours!

God of War (and any subsequent knockoffs). I can't really think of a legitimate reason not to like it, I just don't.

The Persona series.

I've heard good things about them and I have friends who recommend them but I've never got around to it. Its on my "to do eventually" list but idk. I'm not sure if I'd be into them.

Starcraft 2. I can't play it for the life of me, but the pro players must be amazing multi taskers.
Same.

I suck at games like Starcraft because I'm not smart enough to plan ahead.

Pokemon games. I have never liked them. I don't know why but the repetitive grind annoys me to much. The one time I enjoyed it was when I wasted about forty of my friends Pokeballs (Including a master ball) trying to catch a Growlith.

World of Warcraft. Played 2 hours and I got bored out of my skull. But I respect the genre that Blizzard has modernized, because WoW was NOT the 1st MMORPG but they did make it more accessible.

League of Legends.

Everyone I know that's played it loved it, and I think it's awesome that a free game (aside from microtransactions and character purchases) is doing so wonderfully. That being said I just never cared for the style of game it is. I wish I could like it for the sake of friends, but it's just not my cup of tea.

Most good RTS games. I dislike RTS as a genre (mainly due to the fact that I'm just not good ata managing so many things at once), but I understand why people enjoy it, and I respect that games like SC2 are great games within their respective genre.

Just about every MMO. I admire them for sheer scale alone(despite their addicting nature), but I just can never find myself wanting to come back to them after a few hours of playtime.

I would probably say Star Craft 2, the Mass Effect series and probably the Halo series. They never really interested me, though they clearly are doing something right for how insanely popular they are.

I have to say EVE. I've played it and liked it but can't keep myself interested long enough for it to be worthwhile but I love the meta game it created.

Batman: Arkham Asylum. I've heard great things about it, and it's an extremely well put together game if the parts that I've seen are representative, but nothing about it really seems to "ping" with me. And I need a ping to play a game. Pings are good.

This^^^

I would love to play it, but I just don't have the time to invest to actually be able to do anything really cool in it.

Dwarf Fortress

I really tried. REALLY! But when I lost track of my little guys three minutes into the game, I gave up.

Crayon physics. It bores me, but the concept behind it is excellent.
Then there's Arma II, E.Y.E Divine cybermancy, Magicka and others which my hardware simply refuses to cooperate with.

Well, I'd direct you to the absolute newbie's guide to DF, but that seems to be outdated. But I so understand your pain. I had downloaded the game once tried, given up, deleted it and then only a month later I tried again. This time successfully.

There are plenty of games like that (acknowledgement of some quality, but won't ever play it). A modest selection of franchises:

-Uncharted
-Left 4 Dead
-Dragon Age
-Call of Duty
-Dead Rising
-Lost Planet

It's hard to explain. I just get this feeling that the game simply isn't for me, that I would get no enjoyment out of it. You might say that that's weird since I didn't try the game...well, it wouldn't matter in the end. Once I subconsciously make up my mind about a game, it has to work overtime to prove me wrong...and it often fails in that regard.
