Games you think Yahtzee would like

We all know he has strange tastes that are really hard to nail down. He seems to enjoy great story, great gameplay, and great characters, but what exactly any of that MEANS is undefinable. So, what games have you played that you think Yahtzee, with his strange tastes, would like? Be sure to say why.

Personally I think he would like Fire Emblem, Golden Sun, Child of Eden, Icaruga, Lock's Quest, and probably 999.

Fire Emblem and Golden Sun are unlike ANY other JRPG out there. I realize I'm Waxing poetic about them, but they're just amazingly good. Fire Emblem still has the best characters I've ever seen in a video game, and Golden Sun just has a freaking insane story line. WHat he would really like I think would the fact that there aren't any androgenus teenages with stupid hair styles whining about anything and everyone in both games actually wears enough to cover the whole of their body.

Childen of Eden and Icaruga, on the other hand, I haven't played, but I've seen a lot of footage and heard of a lot of soundtrack. I want them both. A lot.

999 (nine hours, nine persons, nine doors) is a text based horror game for the DS that really seems to be right up his alley.

He often mentions how he likes a good horror game (silent hill 2 in particular), so it would probably have to something along those lines....but better :)

He loves the PoP sands of time, and Thief games. He did like Portal, and apparently has something for The Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy.

I wonder if he'd like The Void, since it's an interesting indie game, but I really have no idea. He could like it or loather it.

Demon's Souls (if he got into it more)

Also, it'd be interesting to see his take on the Persona series. He dislikes most of the tropes that come with JRPGs (characters with rediculous clothing, hair, and attire, angsty teens, excessive melodrama, etc.), but the Persona games tend to avoid said tropes. Plus they actually involve role-playing and have sharp writing for a game.

I'd like him to try out the Ratchet & Clank games, and the Sly Cooper series. Probably not as stealth-centric as he'd like, but still fun.

My psychic senses tell me he'd enjoy Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time, Portal, Fallout 3, Thief and Silent Hill 2. Just a hunch.

Note also: In a pinch, story can slide. Note Painkiller ("you're here, you want to go there, demons in between, KILL THEY ASS.") and Portal 1.

Also re: Fire Emblem. It's closer to Advance Wars style gameplay, IMO, and thus no linear corridors, he'd probably like that.

With those both said, however, I don't have any suggestions that he hasn't already reviewed. (Maybe Trenched? I've heard that's good, and it's by Double Fine which might be a point in its favor, but I've also heard it's an RTS, and he's made his opinion clear on those)

All the games I like. I just demand class in my games, and that's exactly what I get. And the ones that I like that deserve to get some bashing (Drakengard), will probably meet the same fate as his Nier review. (Same guys - I'm assuming the stories are similar in darkness).

The only major difference we'd probably have is Persona 4. Dialogue, originality, and characters backslaps Final Fantasy XIII with burning iron, but until I see a very favorable review for a JRPG, I believe we'll have different opinions on the game. =p

Don't forget Psychonauts. My intuition tells me that one would be on that list.

Okay, this is actually quite simple. Take all the games he has reviewed thus far and bitched the least at. Now look up what genre they are and keep a tally, the one that has the most after this experiment is the winrar. Oh and btw, he hates JRPGs with a passion. It doesn't matter if it's unlike anything the world has ever known, if it has that "J" before "RPG" he's probably going to stick his nose up at it and walk away.

He seems like a cat almost. XD

PS. He really only reviews popular games or ones that have made the biggest splash in the community thus far. I'd consider his "not so well known" game reviews as being a "scrapping the bottom of the barrel until the mainstream game that everyone has been talking about drops.

I imagine he'd enjoy Lara Croft: Guardian of Light. Essentially a run of the mill dualstick shooter but with puzzle/platform/time trial/optional co-op elements and plenty of dudes between you and where you need to be.

I would love to hear Yahtzee review one of the .Hack games, just to hear the the hilarious criticisms i'm sure he would have of the games.

Edit: For some reason I forgot I was supposed to suggest a game I thought Yahtzee would like. In that case, he should review... I can't think of any he might like. None that haven't already been said.

I don't know but think he would like Metro 2033, its horror aspects are not the simple jumping out of nowhere things that Yahtzee hates but more revolves around a mystery, even if it is a small one.
It does have nice FPS/RPG aspects, though, and those really are present more than the horror.

That game that came out last week, Shadows of the Damned for two reasons:

A. It looks like a genuinely "different" game than the current gen norm; It has a twisted, and psycho sense of humor that he just might like too.

and B. It has a portal reference in it......okay, wait that one's just for me, cause I wanna see if he loses his shit over that like he did for Castlevania XD
