I don't see Yahtzee as a hipster so much as someone with unreasonably high expectations. His tastes are only strange in that he hates things most people like, not in the sense that he likes stuff other people would not. I'd be surprised if he had a secret hard on for any really obscure games. He probably hates 99% of them as well. At the end of the day, Yahtzee is someone who encourages the industry to make better games by pointing out the flaws in popular games. That is his function. Therefore you shouldn't expect him to say such and such game is good. That's not his role.

I knew someone was gonna say it before I could, but I really do hope he looks into Catherine. One because pretty much any game Yahtzee reviews generally sells more :p (doubly so if he actually kinda liked it)

He likes horror, he likes that feeling of "Holy crap, I'm gonna die" and he's always trying to look for games that try something new in an interesting and innovative way.

...So yeah, I know he'd "ignore us to death" but push for him to import and review Catherine next month.

My psychic senses tell me he'd enjoy Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time, Portal, Fallout 3, Thief and Silent Hill 2. Just a hunch.
Maybe I'm missing the sarcasm, but I think the OP was trying to say "Games he hasn't reviewed that he may like."

In that case I'd argue for Earth Defense Force 2017 (possibly its sequel, I haven't played it yet), Trenched, Saints Row: The Third (I was surprised it wasn't on his list of games that probably won't suck), and that's all I can think of.

Maybe Shadows of the Damned, though, if he's into that sort of thing.

Also, it'd be interesting to see his take on the Persona series. He dislikes most of the tropes that come with JRPGs (characters with rediculous clothing, hair, and attire, angsty teens, excessive melodrama, etc.), but the Persona games tend to avoid said tropes. Plus they actually involve role-playing and have sharp writing for a game.
This pretty much, I was thinking of main series SMT but the same applies to Persona. I'd like to see him reviewing Lucifer's Call and having the words "Fuck Matador" on screen at all times.

First of all, I think Yahtzee will LOVE this thread. Really. I bet he's reading it right now and refreshing every minute. And I agree... he does have strange tastes... I mean pff... games being "fun"? That's not what's important.

And yes, Fire Emblem and Golden Sun are so incredibly awesome that I had to stop playing them after 1-2 hours. They were so amazingly different and unique that they must have overloaded my fun sense. You know, just like every other J-RPG out there.

He might like planescape torment, it has arguably the best story in a videogame, ever. The world is pretty interactive and open. The gameplay is 30-40% adventure game 60-70% d&d

Saints Row The Third is coming out later this year, and it looks to be even more wacky, unrestrained fun than Saints Row 2. So I'll just guess that'll he'll probably like it.

Okay, this is actually quite simple. Take all the games he has reviewed thus far and bitched the least at. Now look up what genre they are and keep a tally, the one that has the most after this experiment is the winrar. Oh and btw, he hates JRPGs with a passion. It doesn't matter if it's unlike anything the world has ever known, if it has that "J" before "RPG" he's probably going to stick his nose up at it and walk away.

He seems like a cat almost. XD
Someone didn't watch the FF13 review. HINT: There's more too it than just talking about how bad FF13 is.

Fire Emblem
All I could think of was
"Who the fuck is Marth? And why is unlocking him considered a reward?"

And on .hack, while it is easily one of my favorite series, he would tear that series apart, as it reads like a laundry list of what he hates about JRPGs, especially the //GU games.

Solace. A neat little indie game detailing the stages of the grieving process. It's not unique in gameplay mechanics with the exception of the use of color and music to set the tone. It's also free so he can't ***** about lost blowjob spectaculars. It's artsy and shit and it succeeds pretty well with different feels for each of the levels, and therefore stages of the grieving process.

The Ghost Recon games for not being nearly as piss easy as other shooters, nor as straight forward. He'd almost definitely take the piss out of the story, but at least it's not that a PMC is secretly evil or someone invades the U.S., nope, good old nuclear missile threat here, but this time from a Mexican civil war faction. Maybe he'll do the new one, though with the ability to literally become invisible, it might be piss easy.

I'm pretty sure that Yahtzee doesn't like videogames. Like, at all. I'm pretty sure he's made that abundantly clear by now...
