Right, so, all those years ago, when this generation of games was originally debuting, I remember seeing a game called 'Interstellar Marines'. They had a couple of flashy trailers, and I thought "oh thats pretty cool, very next-gen graphics like!" (looking back on them they look a bit... out-dated, actually). Then I didn't hear anything from the game for another 3 years. I quickly dismissed it, presuming it was cancelled.

Then, out of the blue, they suddenly release a new trailer [http://www.gametrailers.com/video/the-vault-interstellar-marines/57316]. Though by this point I've completely lost my interest in the game (its just generic shooter 101 as far as I'm concerned now), it was nice to know the project was still actually going on.

Are there any games like this, that you thought were cancelled until you suddenly find out something new about it (other than... you know... Duke Nukem...)? Are there any games that you saw ages ago that you hope is still being developed? Share your opinions and experience!

Golden Sun.
Definitely this. Coincidentally, I found out about Golden Sun DS shortly after replaying the first one. Maybe I should start replaying old series again, see if anything else pops up...

IL2 Sturmovik on console. For about a year I was only able to find a couple of news reports on its inception, and ended up assuming it had been canned. Imagine my surprise when I saw it on the shelf at my local supermarket. It's a damned fine game too.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. I thought that game was cancelled until, to my surprise, it was released. I can't even remember how long it was in development, but I know the entire premise changed entirely from when the game was first concieved.

Brutal Legend! I had it preordered a good while before Activision dropped it. When they did end up canning it, Gamestop told me they cancelled my preorder and asked if I wanted to put the $5 toward another game -_- Oh, sad day...

But then there was the announcement on Doublefine.com that BL was not done for! Hope was renewed! After it was certain that the game would be coming after all, I happily re-preordered! And now there's only a week-long wait for the Metal awesomeness! Exclamation points!!!

Monkey Island.
I jumped when I saw that "Tales of Monkey Island" had been announced last E3. Total blindside!
