I would also really and I mean REALLY love a dresden files game or movie. Half detective, half wizard, investigate supernatural crimes and kick ass. Who doesn't want to defeat a frog demon by summoning a bolt of lightning from an overhead storm or crush a huge scorpion with an elevator... Probably never gonna happen but I think it would be cool.
OH MY GOD, someone other than me that reads The Dresden Files!!!! Personally, I think it would work better as a movie, but in video game form? Maybe as a glorified point and click adventure, kinda like L.A. Noire, but done right.
A movie would be preferred but its unlikely given how the tv series bombed, also there is the very grave threat of KEANU REEVES AS HARRY DRESDEN...eww no, no god no. It would need a director and casing agent who were fans of or at least respected the source material, and producers willing to tell hollywood execs to take its 3d and fuck off. The nevernever may look good if given a huge injection of cash but more likely it would become a cgi snorefest.
A game isn't completely insane, there are plenty of set pieces from the books (giant gorilla demon flinging exploding poo) a variety of enemy types for combat situations. I was thinking more of deus ex human revolution as opposed to la noire in terms of template. Chicago, undertown and the nevernever as mission areas. Earning experience points and then upgrading Harrys equipment, i.e blasting rod, staff, force ring, his duster coat. Potion crafting in the lab with bob the skull. Its a rich world to draw upon.
To be honest I would love either, movie or game, it doesn't matter. As long as they were treated with love and respect.
