I LOVE Knights of the Old Republic. I generally play it about once a year. Or at least, I'd like to. The problem for me is right in the beginning. Taris. I hate Taris so much. The game is fuck-all boring at that point when you're going through it for a second time.
I dunno I always thought Taris set up a very good form of pacing for the player. It made the player feel not very powerful and generally presented a planet that was filled with side quests and other content.

Fable.

All of it.

Also Jedi Academy before you get powers. Thank goodness for console cheats in that game. Also that one mission when you don't get to use your lightsaber.

...Thank goodness for console cheats in that level.

Halo, 2 and, 3. They all have a couple of awesome levels which I could replay over and over but then The Flood emerge and makes the game into something that I just can't freaking stand. Screw the Flood.
Ditto. "The Library" (Halo 1) and "Cortana" (Halo 3) are absolutely horrible horrible levels in otherwise fantastic games. I just dread having to play those levels.
Ninja'd times two. Everyone always seems to have forgotten "The Library" but by god did I hate that level. Fifteen minutes into it, after dying over and over and finally reaching the third of four long-ass corridors I screamed out loud "How much longer is this!?!?" It was the entire reason I entered this thread.

DarkMessiah of M&M:

Best close combat system ever done, but the scene where you need to use rope arrows to get out from a giant spider infested nest is so incredible "GAAAAAAAH!" - makes my hair shoot out of my back. I think its the 'tickle tickle' sound of all those spiderlegs following you up the walls. :p

Metroid Prime 2. Right until it gets to the final key search, it's all fantastic. But then the search begins, you learn that you have to go back to everywhere you just were to get them. Prime 1 was so much better than that. The search for the chozo artifacts started almost the moment you arrived on tallon iv, so you could do it the whole game.

I wouldn't say its bad, but very confusing. Narr Shadar quests to find a jedi from SW:KoTOR 2. I really hated that, ive only ever completed it without help once and I have no idea how i did. Its just too big ad confusing.

Every time someone gets his horse or money stolen in red dead redemption. Most of the time it happens when I'm about to save. I'm at the absolute minimum honor rating in that game, yet thievery victims always run, sometimes directly past lawmen, to me to ask me to catch the thief. Then when I ignore him the game acts like I did something wrong with red failure text at the bottom. Fuck you, game, I'm a desperado, not a goddamn sheriff.

For me it's Oblivion, though the "one part" is that guildquests are no fun anymore, kind of gutting the experience for me. I'll install it, get the necessary mods, play for an hour and then quit. Setting up the mods takes 2-3 times as long as the actual playing does :/

That's why i made a save just before you exit the sewers, the bit that gives you the option to completely redo your character

Sonic 1, Labyrinth Zone. Not only is there no real boss, the 3rd level of Scrap Brain is another trip to Labyrinth.

hmmmmmm tough call..Banjo tooie has 'that one part' in two parts, the inflatable dino boss and Lord woo Fak fak in davy jones' locker, but niether are so bad that they make me want to stop playing.
Really? Mr Patch is one of my favourite bosses. The trick is to fly in close to make hitting your mark easier(bumping into him doesn't hurt you after all, but not too close or you get hurt by your own grenade eggs)

And for lord woo, transform into the submarine then vs him ;)

the homing eggs cheat also doesn't hurt :p (doesn't make them super hax though, they just curve a bit, you still have to aim well)

Pfft, the mining joint and then Telos in the second were worse...
