eternal sonata if a couple hours of grinding dont help in defeating this one double boss battle and i really want to see the end as well.

although it could be vagrant story, started to play it but from the semi-uninteresting game play to the jagged pixels may make it a game to watch an LP of instead to get the story.

Mass Effect. I got bored a few hours in, and I never started it again. I can understand why people would like it, but I just wasn't interested.

Borderlands. It's fun, and I can see how it's a good game, but i can never force more than one and a half hours down. I start it up, play a bit, forget about it for 2 months, then suddenly re-discover it, play a bit, rinse and repeat.

Plenty of games. Lost odyessy comes to mind. I only got to like, the third area where there's this dragon boss thing which always 2hko's my entire party. After grinding for 20 minutes didn't help, I gave up, and went to play some more Persona 3. GalCiv 3 also comes to mind, because for the life of me I cannot figure out how to beat it. It seems like no matter what I do my allies always manage to get all the planets in 2 turns, before I even have a single colony ship, and then get the highest tech levels in about 20 turns while ignoring how I'm being massacred by the dread lords. Its frustrating as hell.

Persona 3 - Fuck you Nyx
Sonic Heroes - Damn those Special Stages
Final Fantasy IV - I couldn't be asked to do all the grinding necessary to beat that damn Dark Elf guy.
Eternal Darkness and Dark Cloud 2 - Mostly because I don't own a copy of either of 'em
...and probably a few dozen others.

Street Fighter X Megaman. That game's really hard.
Lost Planet. I got close one time, but that game is so boring.

OT: I also forgot Last Remnant, decent game with fun combat, but my god, all those technical issues were unreal...
I see what you did there.

As for me, pretty much every JRPG I ever started, but then dropped, and then picked up again, only to realize I haven't got a freakin' clue what the plot or characters are about anymore. Sure, the really good ones you just start again from scratch, but the rest... (Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha Versus The Soulless Army, Lord of the Rings,: The Third Age, .Hack, etc.)

Also, sometimes I play a game all the way to the end, do all the sidequests and stuff... But then don't beat the final boss. Games like Xenoblade Chronicles and Rogue Galaxy. I don't know, I just... I can pretty much guess what is going to happen story-wise. And it's not like I'm gonna be able to save and continue afterwards. It's the end. You beat the boss and then you just load your data from before you have beaten the boss. Okay, Some games - like FF X-2 - add a New Game +, but it does really add anything to the characters or the story.

The journey is more important than the destination, I guess?

As much as I love it, I get the feeling I'll never get past Vanille's Eidolon in Final Fantasy 13.

EDIT: Oh, and Skyrim. I couldn't give less of a crap about the Stormcloak/Empire thing.

Final Fantasy XIII. The amount of hours I put into some of the portions of that game to get past one area or boss annoyed me (while also showing how rubbish I am at the game), even now I'm only like... half way through it and at this point I can no longer be arsed to carry on.

Medal of Honour (2010). Found it's campaign and multiplayer to be pretty damn rubbish and some of the missions were so drawn out I lost interest within the first 10 minutes at least. Both are games I put down and now I can't be bothered to pick them up again.

Legend of Zelda: OoT.
I recently bought a 3DS and got Ocarina of Time with it. I never completed it on N64. I then got a job a week later, so now I don't have that much time to sit down and play for too long except on weekends, which then I go out with my friends or play on PC.
Changing the save feature to start you off where you last were would have been a good change too.

Any devil may cry game. I'm stuck on a part on the first two, on three I get bored early and stop playing, and 4 hurt to play so bad I traded it in after two days.

Dark Souls is a good contender, not because it's that hard but because of the "rinse until you've learned the phone-book" design direction.
Look the bosses are very cool, but if you make me grind the last 10-15 minutes before that boss 10+ times(depending on the number of unknown moves you need to memorize), then I won't be doing that for very long.
Yeah, its a pain. The worst offender is the 4 kings boss fight. Hard as SHIT, difficult to find helpers for, and you have to run past ghosts AND those dark reaver whatever guys who attack so many times in a row you have to just back up because it is hard to get enough stamina to block them all.

Ive died about a dozen times doing that, so that is where i have stopped my first run of dark souls, and i dont feel like going again.

Oh. I think... [small]I think you should finish that.[/small]

OT: Ico.

Fuck Yorda, I don't even care. She isn't worth it. I have no connection with her. The only reason I ever want to keep her away from those shadow-guys is because otherwise I turn into stone for some reason. (Which, sometimes, I think I'd actually prefer to protecting her...) I can't understand a damn thing she says, she can't be bothered to do anything on her own. Yorda won't even struggle when shadow-dudes grab her. Obviously she wants it to happen.

I just. I get so angry playing that game. I figured that since it was Escort Mission: The Game, it would be designed in such a way so as to make the escort mission not awful. But I guess not. If anything, they made it worse.

Witcher 2: I just find it so incredibly boring and slow. I've heard good things about how the choices you make story-wise actually matter (as in, half the game's story is denied to you if based on the choice you make in the first act), but I just can't be arsed to go through act 1. Geralt is such a non-character for me.

Skyrim: Just because I don't have the time needed to dedicate to it anymore. I really like it, but it nearly consumed me at one point, and I cant go through that again.

Eternal Sonata and Blue Dragon: I like both these games, but every time I try playing through them, it takes me such a long time to get anywhere that a game I'm super excited about gets released, takes me away from whichever one I'm playing at that moment and I just lose all track of context in them and have to start again.

Oblivion and Fallout 3

Both great games but Oblivion I never get further than a couple of the main quests and all of the Dark Brotherhood and as my PS3 deleted all of my saves a few weeks ago I have no interest in sinking another 50+ hours into Fallout 3

I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to complete Xenoblade, and I intend to! But... whenever I think about playing it, I just can't bring myself too.

See, it's fun enough. Pretty well put together. The story seems to have potential, though it hasn't had a huge amount of payoff yet (I just made it to the futuristic sky city place). When I got it I had recently (by about a few months) burnt out on and quit WoW.

So.... the familiar combat, though well-designed, along with the tons of menu-based character management bored the hell out of me. I really do want to finish it, it's just taking forever to get around to it.
