Am I the only one who enjoyed Dawn of War II? I thought it was better how you didnt need to concentrate on lots of areas at once, and somehow the battles were still epic. It relied more heavily on squad tactics, which I thought was really fun.

OT: Most if not all of the 3D Sonic games, I really liked the 2D ones, even though they wernt around while I was a kid. Shame really...

Persona 3

I liked Persona 2 but this games concept was completely changed. It felt like I was playing a bad dating sim with additional dungeon crawler theme spliced in.

Shadowrun. It would have helped if they had played the tabletop game.
Dude. What? Shadowrun on the SNES was the shit.

Doom 3 blew ass and it sucked because I loved Doom 2.

The Witcher the love was there shame the developers suffered retardation on the inventory/skills/character customisation and combat system.

Operation Flashpoint : Dragon Rising, its good but has MAHOOSIVE potential
Isn't that the extremely realistic military simulation? How is it, on realism grounds?
On Realism grounds its completely Brutal espesh on hardcore, just that sometimes its really buggy, but when it works its a wonder, I love it but it could also be so much more, worth the purchase though

I DESPERATELY wanted to like Blood Bowl for the psp, but it was horrible, graphics disappointing, insane difficulty and the computer cheated on the dice rolls SOOOOOO much :(

Silent Hill: Homecoming. THe series is my favorite in the horror genre and I was so excited to get the game. But when I played it, it just wasn't the same. I guess on its own its an okay game, but its not really a Silent Hill to me.

And Alone in the Dark. It was just a disappointment.

Spore, for obvious reasons.
Same here i was hoping for a much more complex game instead it was incredibly simplified for the kids.
Finally, someone else who feels the same way, I personally love the concept, the designing, space stage.....but the whole of the game design is too damn kiddy :/ EA have probably saved up the good stuff like the city stage and underwater stage for expansions..

Warhammer online and Black and White
No, no, no, Black and White was revolutionary in its time, sure, it had its flaws, but it was a neat concept. I intensely dislike Black and White 2 HOWEVER for being a glorified city builder...

Red Steel. Oh god, how the IGN boys hyped this one. I was just as excited to play the Wii's first FPS as to play Zelda. I played it for 1 hour, picked up Zelda, and sold RS the next week. It is kinda fun as an encyclopedia of racist stereotypes, though.

All Mortal Kombat games. All the characters were the same except for a couple of special moves and finishes.

Castlevania 64. >shudder< Like nails on chalkboard.

Duke Nuke'em Forever and Prey (tie). I waited so long for these games, and when they finally came out I was like "whaaa-"

No More Heroes is actually my current fave. The overworld/sandbox portion was sorely lacking and a little buggy, sure, but that was just the hub. After my second boss battle, I was so hooked that I powered through the 3rd, the Shinobu fight. I fought that boss 27 times before I beat her. A 12-pack was involved, and I turned off the in-game music and put my Tool/Op Ivy/Dead Kennedies/Mars Volta Mix on my ipod for that one. I got a toast and a neighbor's complaint out of that one.

Better than the first time I beat the Jacquiou

Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. When i first heard that a Zelda game was being made for the nds i was thrilled. But as the news about the game-play and graphics started to pop up on the Internet my excitement began to fade away. I just wish that had stuck to the full 3d formula of Zelda games instead of crossbreeding it with the 2d games.

I meant the latest one, 360/PS3/PC. Its only redeeming factors, a decent soundtrack and 360-PC multiplayer are undermined by the fact that there are only two pieces of music in the entire game (one of which is the menu music) and the fact that the PC servers are shut down.

But I agree, the SNES and Mega Drive versions were great.
