Wow. I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet.

Metroid Other M.

Do I have to explain why?
I think you have to ask your boyfriend before you can answer that one...

...I'm sorry, whatever joke you just made flew directly over my head. You mind explaining?

Aw, it's not funny if I explain it. That's the basic gameplay mechanic in Other M. Samus can't do anything without permission :)

Cod...I hate it, plus, when you think about it, it's kind of for casual gamers, whenever I look at my friends' achievement list the only games I see are CoD and Fifa...They're not refined gamers who love the classics, they just love shooters and killing people.
Honestly, just think about it, I don't see CoD players playing anything else at all, no matter how good the game is, they're not REAL gamers.
:p

Every movie-licensed game ever.
Oh, so you don't think that Goldeneye on the Nintendo 64 deserves to exist? For shame.

OT: World of Warcraft, if only because it's indirectly killed real people.

Games? Nah, they've all got their place. I might not like many of the more modern action oriented titles and I'm not terribly keen in the direction some series and developers are going. But hell, it's all got its place and I can't expect them to cater to me alone... although that would be nice.

Now if I could wish the Star Wars prequels away that would be nice. That Crystal Skull movie too while I'm at it!

Just because someone enjoys playing only one or two games doesn't make you inherently better as a gamer, nor does it make them not REAL gamers.

Haze. Dear god that was a terrible game that completely failed to live up to any of its promises. Even worse, it drove Free Radical out of business. If it wasn't for that game we would all have TimeSplitters 4 by now. Possibly 5 as well.

Any game that is made on the basis that it will sell. I would call them the Twilight novels of the games industry ,that is, absolutely awful but still selling enough to buy someone a golden yacht, but at least the twilight novels might have saved us from a generation of illiteracy. These games, on the other hand, have no reason to exist except for the greedy machinations of evil corporations who feed on the lack of artistic education held by most people. As to which games fit this role, I'm sure everyone has their own opinions and I'll leave it open to opinion. But the developers know, and for that they can all rot in the deepest circle of hell.

Also, Bioshock 2. Because it makes the first one look bad.

Words from the master. All games have their place, but when it's just for the money? Yuck...

Plus, I wish Star Wars: Republic Commando had never been made. Nice team tactics, good gameplay, nice cliffhanger-ish ending. THEN NO SEQUEL! Eternal sadness...

Look.. like Twilight, I don't like alot of these games. But enough people do and that's obvious.

There is nothing wrong with Twilight existing, not every movie needs to be a moving artitic masterpiece.

Likewise, not every game needs to be an incredibly work of art.

Games, movies, TV, books.. these are all entertainment.. they can also be moving, challanging, horrifying, and all the other things a work of art can be.. but they don't have to be.

Its okay for things to be just mindless fun.

No...no you are not.

Because of that game now we have thousands of bethesda fanboys thinking the BoS are some massive army of righteous fighters and GECKs explode. Not to mention that game serves as Harold's graveyard, a grim and foggy graveyard.

Final Fantasy X

Way to ruin the reputation of the series for a solid decade+.
Didn?t that game have record sales and was praised by critics?
Oh, I suppose that changes everything. Except for the fact that I never brought myself to finish it, and haven't played another Final Fantasy since.

Seriously, though, FFX got such great reviews thanks to the brand, I have no doubt. Either a few people got a memo saying "Rate this high if we want more Square Enix stories on time", or they thought, "It's FF, it MUST be good!". The series has been on a sharp decline.
