Bioshock 2 was unexpected, although I found it to be much better than the first.

I wish KotOR 2 had been made by Bioware as well, so that it'd have been done properly. At least if they'd of stopped at the first game there wouldn't have been any unanswered questions as it actually resolved properly.

Final Fantasy 5 on-ward.
Left 4 Dead could've done with an 'expansion' rather than a "full" sequel.

Can't think of any others at the moment...

Obsidian actually did an okay job, it's just that Lucasarts rushed them to release the game before it was ready. Hence the unfinished feel and cruddy, tacked on ending.

I can agree with that, although I feel Bioware are the better developer anyway, so maybe they could have still done better in less time. They were, after all, already familiar with the game, characters and backstory.

"The first story draft was pretty terrible, mostly because we weren't allowed to play K1 before drafting it, so we really knew nothing about the first game and were writing in the dark (Revan who?)."
―Chris Avellone, Lead Designer for The Sith Lords at Obsidian Entertainment, talking about story development.

I mean, who the hell would think that that was a good idea?

I know it's not out yet, but... Portal.

It just feels unneeded, like Bioshock 2 is to me.

Somewhere I've got this feeling as well... it might not do Portal any credit to have a sequel, but yet it could be completely brilliant.

Still... I look forward to it's release and hope it'll do Portal the credit it deserves.

Vin Diesel's Wheelman 2... Oh wait they didn't! Hallelujah!

Also it goes without saying, FFX-2 was abysmal, FFX wasn't everyone's cup of tea but it was one of my favourite games on the PS2, and FFX-2 murdered it. :'(

As a vigorous supporter of the Tombraider series, I have to say I wish Crystal Dynamics had never gotten hold of the franchise, the TR games they made were bloody awful.

And yes angel of darkness was pretty terrible so i wish that hadn't been made aswell. But the newest games in the series are the worst perpetrators!

I'd say Twisted Metal 2. 2 was brilliant. Improved on the first in hundreds of ways. Absolutely brilliant. But then three. What a shit. A massive one. It was pretty much the second done again but with worse graphics and crappy new characters. Four I allow since I had fun with it with a friend. But 3...unforgivable.

Fear 2. Why couldn't they have left it alone...

Fear 3, sorry, "F3AR" looks like it is going to make me want to kill myself.

I think the pokemon games keep getting better.
And I eagerly await black and white.

Saying "Pokemon should have ended after crystal/emerald" is becoming the new "My God, Halo 3 sucks". It's turning into a trend!

Deus Ex!

Deus Ex 2 is dishonoring the godlike Deus Ex! The crappy Invisible War destroyed everything. The characters, the depth of gameplay, the dark mood and graphics...
