There are a lot of bad games out there, but none of us want a game to be bad.

So when there is a game we really want to be good, but it turns out bad, its a big let down.

So what bad games do you still wish were good.

For me, it would have to be the Saw games. Yes, movie tie in games are usually terrible, but the saw universe interests me, and the mixture of action and puzzles could have gone really well.

Sadly, it wasn't as good as I hoped it would be, and the sequel wasn't good either.

I would have to say Lord of The Rings Conquest. Demo was awesome, then came game....

(Off Topic Completely)

How about movies that should have been awesome? The Eagle, I loved movies about Rome especially Gladiator. And do I need to say how The Eagle turned out?

Dark Void. I love the idea of flying around with a jetpack, dogfighting alien saucers. It's just that almost every other aspect of the game is either boring or outright shitty. Plus, in my experience, there was a great of lag and other technical problems to contend with.

Fallout: New Vegas is also a borderline case. It's not actual "bad," as it is well-written and designed, but I literally have no more patience left to deal with its bugginess. Unless they come out with some magical patch that fixes most of the lag and freezing issues, I don't see myself playing any more of it in the future, which makes me very sad because it's my favourite RPG.

Too Human and Dark Void

Both are awesome games on paper, with a lot of really good ideas. Both utterly fail in their execution, especially Too Human.

Wet. I love the theme, the music is great and some of the characters are rather appealing to me. Unfortunately the game is kinda sucky gameplay wise. And it's very short, too. Not to mention the title makes me feel a bit dirty every time I say it out loud.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Improve the gunplay and take away the terrible boss battles and "Use energy cell to do sneak attack" concept, and you would have a awesome game.

Too Human and Kane & Lynch: Dead men come to mind. Holy fuck, if kane & lynch had better gameplay and graphics it would have been my favourite game of all time, because the story was really good. And the same goes to Too Human it wasn't a bad game in itself, it just had so many "little things" that annoyed the hell outta me, like the big enemies which were hard but not in a challenging way, the annoying "Valhala" sections.

Syndicate.

More depth to the story and evilness of the corporations instead of the predictable plot. More tactical-ness. Less bloom and blandness.

Alpha Protocol.

Bland story, bland dialogue, shit level design, shit combat, shit accommodation for what players choose to specialise in, good concept, impressively malleable plot.

Also, I am loving these "describe with any word(s)" captchas.

Mass Effect 2 & 3, Dragon Age 2.

All terribly disappointing. Loved ME1 and DA:O, but their sequels were a huge step back.

I really wish i could have enjoyed Arkham City more than i did.

Any comments i could make about it has already been said though: how the sandbox thing let too many villains cram into the game without leaving any focus or proper game time for any of them.
It also made the Riddler things more of a ***** to collect so i just ended up not bothering.

I guess my love for Arkham Asylum made me really want to like City as well, but in the end i just couldn't :/

The par-core aspect was wonderful....
Everything was just bad all around.

Left 4 Dead 2
Only complaint was changing the multiplayer. If one person can rush and make it to the end, they'll win.

I really wanted to like C.O.R.E. on the original DS (which I expect maybe two or three of you have heard of), but the single-player game was just so goddamn shitty. The multiplayer on it was a funnish, Quake-style experience, though.

I was super pissed at how bad Bodycount turned out to be. All it had to do was be Black but prettier. THAT IS ALL THEY HAD TO DO.

Final Fantasy XIII - Considering the amount of money SquareEnix pours into this franchise, you'd at think it would at least be mediocre...

Dragon Age 2 - Considering the love for Dragon Age 1, you'd think that Bioware would develop a sequel that had a semblance of being similar in design and quality with the first.

I think those are my only ones that come to mind initially, and considering the pedigree, are easily the most disappointing.

Hard Reset
A nice FPS with some nice concepts but they had some issues as well.

Yeah. A lot of developers don't seem to understand the idea that making your sequel for the people who didn't like the first game will make the people who did like the first game not really like the second.

Final fantasy XIII and its sequel. :(

There was this RTS called Maelstrom a little while back. It had some awesome ideas such as having the ability to flood the map and some pretty unique factions.

But it failed epicly in its execution.
