I feel your pain on Unlimited Saga. Saw it for 6 bucks at EB and took a flier on it. In the end I came to the conclusion that the CD was similar in origin to the "VCR Tape of Doom" from The Ring and pawned it off on some unsuspecting friend.

I totally agree about Lego Star Wars. Once I'd completed each mission, I really couldn't be arsed to go back through it all just to get 100% completion. Fun for about a week.

Also, whatever you do, DO NOT BUY a game called "Classic British Motor Racing", no matter how cheap it is (£16 from Amazon) or how much you like Classic British cars (a lot). It's terrible. Literally awful. I died a little inside. Worst. Game. Ever.

Play that game with the southpaw stick options and you will understand why I hated Gears of War. It's all but impossible to move Marcus with the right analog stick and hold down the A button....
Hmmm, you use the southpaw options? I'm a lefty too, but find that the so called left handed (i.e. Southpaw - god knows why they think anyone would know what that is outside of the USA. Saw it on wikipedia) just don't help on any console - after all, the buttons remain on the same side for the righties guardless, so you can't really use the natural thumb for it.
I know what you mean and it pisses me off to no end.

Resident Evil Zero for Gamecube. I just got the RRoD and needed some games to pass the time. My first experience with RE was number 4, so I figured, what the hell, 4 kicked ass, 0 can't be SO bad. Many bad camara angles and pointless door animations* later I said "F this" and went back to Super Smash Bros.

*For real though, how long does it take Capcom employees to open doors and walk up stairs? Not to mention the puzzles, "There seems to be something stuck in the door, if only I had something sharp..." he says as I hold a FRIGGIN KNIFE in my hands.

Prey. It was only a fiver. I now understand why the shop I got it in was giving it away free with copies of Serious Sam 2 a few months before. Yecch.

Bioshock

it's suprising that the game that was supposedly the game that won so many awards got boring after the first playthrough. It was fun, but after you beat it once, its worthless.
I bought it for $60... worst financial descision of my life, that 60 dollars could have been used for so much more...

it's a game to rent, not buy

Now unless I try games, I won't buy right away, and reviews don't help, they all said Bioshock was great... only for the first playthrough

the only exception for this is Haze for the PS3, and the reason for that is that it is being made by the creators of Goldeneye for the N64, and the greatest FPS series of all time, and the Timesplitters games, games that were always fun.

I'm gonna get flak for this but........FEAR. I didn't think it was scary(At best it managed to be kinda creepy at times), the shooter parts were somewhat fun but ultimately repetitive, the level design was bland and uninspiring and I got annoyed by the fact the character had no name and everyone just calls him "The Fear Operative".

Broken Sword 4. The story was lame and the puzzles were almost all a variation on "Open a locked door". Actually, it was mostly the lame plot that hurt the game for me. The writers seemed more interested in their shitty and uninteresting "Vatican/Maifia" plotline then the more interesting "Ark of the Covenant/Angel of death" plot. That and a number of plot holes which bugged me(the burning torches in the "sealed" chamber under the palace, moving a foutain in a garden filled with guards and nobody so much as noticing).

I'd add Halo:CE if I hadn't paid only $20 for it.

Spectrobes. Worked myself into a hype frenzy, then went out and bought it. The game pulled out a lot of RPG cliches. And the enemies ATE galaxies. What the hell?

Call of Duty 4.....Quite possibly the worst game of this generation(that I've played) and was the first and last time I give into hype to drive my purchase and the whole reason why I'm waiting on some real reviews for GTA4.

Oh yeah and Shadow the Hedgehog(but it was £4 so...)....Halo 3(£10, still incomplete stpry mode)....SF2 SNES it was short/easy/lacking and quite expensive....that's about all i remember as standouts but I know there is ALOT more.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2. $30 isn't too bad for some of the prices I've seen around, but I'm just not into many fighters outside of Soul Calibur and Super Smash Bros. Although I probably will stop wishing I hadn't spent money on this game once I get around to inflating the game's price on eBay.

Assasin's Creed, Mass Effect, Gears of War

I enjoyed all three games during the first play through, Mass Effect especially, but I've never wanted to go back and play them again, and Gears' multiplayer isn't diverse enough to hold me to it.

I am going to pray that SF2=/=Street Fighter 2.

Actually, I didn't really like the original Street Fighter 2. The game felt kinda... broken, for lack of a better term. Of course by the time of Street Fighter 2 Turbo they had fixed it and it is now one of my favorite franchises. It just needed to earn it.

Wartech: Senko no Ronde...
for those of you that don't know its an arena style game with a 20min campaign. I guess the programmers in Japan (or China) got tired with the bad game design and released it 10 days after they began and the American team that was supposed to translate it forgot translate half of it so the plot is the dumbest thing you could imagine, something about a girl crying but she wouldnt stop so everyone had to go away, and now they all need to fight each other ( I WAS SO CONFUSED) .

Mace Griffin, Bounty Hunter for the PS2

When I first saw the game I thought to myself "Hey, an FPS for the PS2, that shouldn't be too bad since I have the keyboard and mouse". Plug it in and they didn't work with the game. Figured, eh, what the hell, may as well try the controller, but it was so touchy that I was getting killed in the first 3 minutes of play. Serious waste of cash.

This may sound strange, but STALKER. It's got a number of good points, like a fairly interesting story, good combat, good graphics, and so forth, but it's just entirely too long. And not from the aspect of having a lot of content, but having to walk or run everywhere (and with as many round trips as you make in certain areas it's frustrating) not to mention the time it takes to load it, I still haven't beaten the damn thing and have therefore haven't gotten two games I want to because I've got too much I'm trying to work my way through already.

Devil May Cry 3... I still haven't gotten past the second level...
Also, Super Mario Kart DS, easily the worst in the series, especially since the Wi-Fi on the DS is not mobile gamer friendly.
MarioKart DS!? I thought that was one of the best titles on that system. Far better than Super Circuit was, that's for sure.
Oh yea, Mario Cart DS was absolutely amazing. Lots of characters, lots of cars, lots of good new stages, lots of good old ones, and team multiplayer races and battles with AIs in battle mode, not just the races. I have to argue that that was one of the best DS games out there, and I have to say that it was good by Mario Kart standards too. ...besides, there's something funny about watching WeeGee ride a tractor.

What do I regret buying? Metroid Prime: Hunters for the DS. Oh, it's a good shooter and whatever, but that wasn't a Metroid game. Not in atmosphere, puzzles, or spirit. What a damned let down.
