I really, really tried to enjoy the Metal Gear Solid series, but I really couldn't. I know it's supposed to be awesome, but I couldn't get into it!

What game(s) did you really want to like, but couldn't?

Half-Life. I wish I could be as ecstatic about it as everyone else but it came off as mediocre to me in every way.

I really want to like Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion, but for some reason every time I have tried to play it, I end up getting bored and stopping. It's not a bad game, I just can't get into it, and I am not entirely sure why.

why would anyone want to like a game? If you really want to play it....then play it. If you try playing it and don't like it than STOP WANTING TO PLAY IT!

If I liked it, that would mean the aspects I was disappointed with would be different.

I would like to enjoy some Rpg games, I.E. Mass Effect, Fallout 3, and more, but every time I watch someone play it I just can't get into it. I started playing Dragon Age: Origins, but it gets to the point where I play for a few hours then forget it for weeks. It's a good game but I'm not a huge fan of levelling up to beat foes.

Many of the popular FPS - I just don't like CoD or Halo - but my friends do and I just don't want to drop 30-60USD when the SP campaign is crap.

Starcraft. Or, for that matter, any real-time strategy game. I just can't enjoy them, they're too hectic for me. I prefer having time to think about everything, to absorb the entire situation before jumping into the fray.

World of Warcrap. It would have saved me a lot of abuse in high school if I didn't hate that game. People realized this as a weakness and trolled me with it all throughout grades 10 and 11. If I didn't say "This game isn't really for me," I probably would have never wound up having to write a 6500 word essay on why the game sucks and then a 3-verse song on why the game sucks.

Fallout 3. It has so much in it that I like, but for some reason that I have no idea what it is I just refuse to put the game into my PS3 and play it.

I love RPGs to death, but I could never get into Mass Effect or the Fallout series. They are great games, but I could never stick with them for very long. I'm not really sure why.

I just can't get into Halo even though I've been told by many people that it's a great game.

For me, it was Final Fantasy.....all of them. I just can't seem to get into them to the point that I would even borrow them from a friend. I know a few in the series are great games; and I respect them, it's just never done it for me I guess.

The whole RTS genre. I loved Age of Empires II, but for whatever reason I just can't get into any other RTS (even AoE2 these days). It just can't hold my interest long enough to get anywhere with it.

Hooray somebody else agrees! You do mean the first Half Life, yes? Not hl2? Because hl2 is fun, but the first feels like its from the same bag as Halo combat evolved. Both Halo and Hl just pissed me off more than anything. I played both in the space of a week in order to find out what all the fuss is about and left with a foul taste in my brain.

Wow, seriously? The people at your school sound like tards. Coming from someone who used to play Warcraft, I can completely understand your viewpoint. People get so defensive when someone doesn't like the game/movie that most other people like.

Really anything made by Valve. Obviously they are good games based on the amount of people that like them but First Person just puts me off of a game. I just can't play them at all. I wish all people who make FP games did like they did for Oblivion and Fallout 3 and allow you to go to 3rd person.

This. Also, any shooter since my brother really wants me to play online with him. There isn't much else we can do together since we live so far apart, but I just don't find them very fun.

I really wish I could have gotten into FFXIII. I love the FF series and had some really fun moments in XIII but I just couldn't get into it for the LONG trash fights. 22 minutes to kill a trash monster followed by a 2 and a Half minute boss fight... I eventually made the mistake of skipping what I could of the monsters and then was too weak to advance.

Another game I wish I could like would be EVE Online... Massive universe, getting to pilot my own space ship and do whatever the hell I want. Sounded nice in concept but when i played it... It was pretty slow and once I warped around the universe a couple times I had pretty much seen everything... That and I didn't like the ship models.. Weren't very appealing.

Really wish I could like CoD or any of the "realistic" shooters (anything that got "Tom Clancy" on it comes to mind)
