Admittedly, almost all reamakes of games are horrendous, but if you could have one game remade that stuck entirely to the original story with modern graphics and engines, what would it be?

Mine would probably have to be Worms in 2D

Master of Magic. Yes, there have been remakes, but they've all changed the parts of the mechanics that I liked, to the extent that I don't actually enjoy playing them. A real remake of MoM that didn't try to change anything except the graphics and perhaps a few bugfixes would be great.

Mega Man legends. or at least make a new one!! I love mega man in all his glory, but legends/64 was awesome and shows that the blue bomber could break out of his side scrolling format into greater dimensions. Legends was the fucking bomb and I am pissed that the PSP remake of it is only in Japan....along with some other stellar remakes... god dammit sony show us NA's some love and release some of that goodness here.

Super Mario RPG, maybe even make a legitimate sequel to it. FFVII as mentioned. I'd love to see some of the old-school Star-Trek games remade in such a way that they didn't suck.

Uncharted Waters: New Horizons

and a super metroid rerelase, hopefully expanded by the original level designers if possible. No new items, preferably. Actually, no, just uncharted waters. Super Metroid is perfect as is. A gorgeous reskin is all I could wish for.

Great game, but obviously the graphics are very dated by now, plus it always felt like it needed a few tweaks and adjustments, it wasn't perfect.

But if they did remake it, I wouldn't want Lionhead touching it. PMs dead to me.
