I gushed about Psychonauts 2 in the last thread, sooo more Beyond Good and Evil.

There's a serious lack of games that let me take pictures of whales in space.

More horror games I miss the genre and we don't have many psychological horror games in todays markets for the consoles. I don't care if its M or F lead they just need actually horror based less shooter based gameplay here.
I'd love to see a spiritual successor to something like Silent Hill. A fresh IP that can bring back the atmospheric narrative and terrifying mind-screws without having to create certain expectations in attaching itself to an older franchise.
I loved SH! I read an article recently saying the genre is dying because of how great the games look and due to this hyper-realism they can no longer do physiological thrillers but of course I don't buy it its simply they don't want to make them it's a niche market.

I've always found that baffling. Psychological horror films are pretty photo-realistic, and they work.

I think that it's just because it's really, really hard to do. Very few people in any medium are really good at psychological horror.

It just means they'd have to apply more time on making sure it worked then what I think they'd like to.

Frankly, I'd really like to see an official pokemon for consoles and PC, with all the different regions accessible, and with online PVP and trading. Wouldn't that be awesome? Having it be third person instead of top down would be an added bonus. Let it percolate, why on earth is nintendo, the mother of all franchise milkers, not doing this? Do they not want money? I would buy the Wii U, which goes against several of my principles and my wallet, if this game was on it. No hesitation.

The only issue with it would be budget. I enjoyed the first Silent Hill despite the fact that people look like Lego bricks, but it's not a selling point.

Not to say that I agree with the obsession consumers have with overtly expensive Triple A graphics these days. Substance over aesthetics.

A few guys and I were discussing this probably about half a year back in a /v/ thread. We were looking at pictures of spooky buildings and we came to the conclusion that abandoned malls would be prime material. It's a game called "You Are Here," set on an abandoned mall planet. If I recall correctly, your goal was pretty much just to survive, as an unknown foe would hunt you ruthlessly throughout the area. All the while, you'd need to eat, sleep, drink, etc.

It's just a concept, but we thought it would be pretty neat, maybe as a randomized "pick up and play/ randomized after death" type game, not necessarily as a campaign-oriented survival horror title.

Two words. Sci-fi Sandbox. Seriously, WHERE IS IT? Not a single game has tried it. The only game I can think that kinda comes near it is Red Faction: Guerilla and even then, it's more of a destruction simulator than an actual sci-fi sandbox. (Not that that's a bad thing at all but that's not what we're talking about ATM.)

Something I wish I had gotten from the F.E.A.R and Devil May Cry series is less of an overarching story and more of a case by case basis.
I guess I'm asking for a game that deals with supernatural themes but instead of going from mission to mission with an ultimate goal in mind, you go through mission to mission with the goal only set for the end of that specific mission.
I know that's not really something most people like, a series of events with no real end objective but personally, I'd like to see it.

How about something truly controversial and disturbing yet potentially great for self-insight.

You play Homosexual Gypsy Jew that managed to join ranks of Wehrmacht to save his life but is now tasked with rounding up all undesirables in Third Reich (homosexuals, jews, gypsies, slavs, mentally disabled, socialists...). You are commander of a one of the task forces on that job and you get to decide on actions of your subordinates. Of course, you can get reported with all the consequences imaginable.

Game would have to be really narration and dialogue heavy and done by master writers and craftsmen but that could be such a powerful experience.
