Maybe because it's because I didn't think the game was an underrated classic and thought it was O.K, But I am sick and tired of hearing about Spec Ops: The Line. At best, it was just a competent shooter with an above average story. The combat was O.K, but the cover system was annoying and the weapons sounded weak. Oh, and the story, It was so annoying when ever the game kept having it's moment of saying "YOU'RE A MONSTER! LOOK AT YOU! YOU'RE A FUCKING MONSTER!" when ever I had to make a choice of some sorts that had someone dying, and then went back to make me kill more people. I know people are gonna say "well that's the point," doesn't excuse it for poor execution. Now EVERYONE has to talk about it, and I'm just getting sick of hearing about it and how"amazing it is." Has this ever happened to you? A game that's so talked about, but you didn't enjoy it on the same level of enthusiasm as others? Keep in mind you don't have to think the game is overrated or bad, it can still be a good game.
I am kind of tired about how every acts like Dark Souls was the most difficult game ever created. It had its moments, but after a few hours of playing the game and getting used to its style, it rarely was ever that particularly challenging. It was really just a game that involved some trial and error, which I realize is rare nowadays, but that doesn't make it the crazy difficult game that people make it out to be.
well I was actually excited for this game, got it as a Christmas present today as well, there's a tiny problem though.
it crashes every time I die, no really, died twice now and I have crashed on both occasions, I don't know how people can give a game this unstable such critical appraise, hell I love fallout new Vegas and that wasn't as unstable.
and Vegas got way more shit for its bugs than this game does.
EDIT: should probably mention I am talking about spec ops the line like the op.
Skyrim... This game could never live up to my expectations, it falls flat compared to morrowind or even oblivion.
Also on the subject of spec ops the line, it isn't talked about because of "that scene" it's talked about because of the subtleties of walker's descent.
Yep, Dark Souls for me too. Some people act as if it's the second coming, but to me, it was just another mediocre-or-barely-above-average game that didn't convince me in the slightest. I don't see what's so great about it.
I don't really get sick of hearing about games, because it's pretty easy for me to avoid game conversation if I don't have an interest in it. I'm sick of certain gaming TOPICS though, most particularly "Gamer entitlement", "Fanboys" and console/PC bickering, as they can worm their way into regular discussions with disturbing regularity and catch you unawares.

Walking Dead, I'll try it okay!? I'll play it, stop saying how good it is, as soon as I get my next paycheck I'll buy it!
I can't really say I am tired of hearing about anything. The only time it came close to me getting annoyed by it was back in high school when Minecraft was starting to emerge into it's immense popularity...but then I played it and understood why everyone hailed it as a innovation. It deserved every single piece of praise people would throw at it. Other than that, I enjoy hearing about Mass Effect 3's ending, how good Walking Dead is, how awesome Specs Ops story is....though I do get tired of hearing people complain about Skyrim, and not because I think Skyrim is a bad game, quite the opposite, it's because I think it is a fantastic game!
Hmm, The Walking Dead is one. I've seen playthroughs of all the parts except 5 and it's ok y'know, pretty good story but, and I know i'm being a bit of a hypocrite here considering how much I love Visual Novel esque games but it isn't really a *game* game if you know what I mean. Persona 4, Ace Attorney and BlazBlue are my favourite of those types of games and they have actual gameplay away from all the cutscenes and dialogue paths, AA actually has dialogue paths as core gameplay, it's so good.
I guess I just like hybrid Visual Novel games more than most people.
It doesn't help that I DESPISE child characters. Even you Clem. They're almost always cheap exploitable emotional gateways, Oh no guys, the children are in danger! Get out your inate parental instincts and review our game as emotionally engaging!
I know some aren't supposed to be written like that but that is always how I interpret them. The one and only exception is Nanako in Persona 4, even then it took me about 30 hours to get properly attached to her.
This spoiler in episode 4 speaks for my attitude towards child characters for me
Y'know that zombie kid in the attic? The one you kill then bury with his old dog? I was crying for the DOG. Fuck kids man, that dog was dug up after years and there's something highly emotional in burying a dog and its master together... Having pets skews your views a tad I suppose
Dark Souls, as it's more tedious than difficult and there is no reason to bother going through the game. There is no motivation to drive you through all the bullshit except the "this game will not beat me" mindset some people have for some reason.
There's something wrong with the people raving over Dark Souls' "story"
Protip: If I have to look up the wiki/watch a lore video to understand even the very basics of your settings, characters, locations etc etc something is drastically wrong with your game. AND I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR ITEM DESCRIPTIONS FUCK OFF
Also Blighttown singlehandedly can ruin the game for people. It's that fucked. Ugliest location I have ever seen in a game? Check. Platforming in the dark? Check. Infinitely spawning flying buggers that do nothing but irritate you every few seconds? Check. Toxic dart shooters that can oneshot you if you don't have the posion removal items? Check. Toxic sludge? Check. And much, much more! Cool boss though, the only saving grace in Blighttown.
The Mass Effect series and BioWare games in general. As someone who is not a big fan of (read: hates) their writing, hearing people constantly praise them for their "excellent storytelling" gets a bit annoying.
Half Life 2 (when someone wants to degrade another shooter franchise)- ITS NOT THAT AMAZING >:O, ITS ABOVE AVERAGE AT BEST!
Dark Souls 2 - Yes, this has already got on my nerves. Im so sorry your lovechild of a game is get an easy mode that dosent even detract from your "True" difficulty. If your not even gonna touch it, why do you care that its there in the first place? Yes, I know it makes you feel special that your a "Hardcore" gamer, but it dosent make you a better person or entitled to more than a "Casual" (And this is coming form a guy that loved Dark Souls Start to End)
CoD Vs BF debates- Both boring MMS, Burned myself out on these years ago
The Witcher 2 - It is not the second coming of fucking Jesus. Its good, great, Ill grant you that. But it has SERIOUS problems.
"Hardcore" vs "Casual" debates in General (Usually "hardcore" gamers whining about how much their getting screwed over)- Get the fuck over yourself. Seriously. end. Of. Story.

Half-Life being a graphical marvel isn't the reason people still talk about it. With that being said, I'm also sick of Half-Life and the reason being is that the only time I see the game mentioned is it being derided.
I'm sick and tired of hearing about Skyrim. There was a point where where I avoided some of my usual haunts on the internet because they had become so saturated with talk of Skyrim. The game has been out for a while and my eyes still glaze over when ever anyone writes something/speaks of the game.
COD, in any iteration. I'm sick of games being compared to it and I'm sick of hearing about their yearly instalments. I'm stick of hearing about new map packs and everything else to do with the game.
Guild wars 2. It's good. It's quite good. But it's not the bloody second coming of christ, and call me scrooge, but I didn't find LoL at all engaging or entertaining. It's like every bloody rpg under the sun, obtain good items-mash buttons-rage.
Urgh. Felt good to get that off my chest.
Merry Christmas everyone.
Bah Humbug.
