Well, I was just having fun on Last Remnant after finally beating the Gates of Hell, then I look at my quests, I missed one, so now I have to start all over again, which has pissed me off greatly.

Has this ever happened to you?

GTA 3 and RE4 -for both i got a curropted memory card, GTA3 was just towards the end and on RE4 i had just unlocked the laser and used it ONCE. GOD DAMN!

Or is this thread about games we've replayed completely for fun?

I had to replay Morrowind about 6 times because in all cases either a) my character sucked or b) I accidentally turned off my console before it was done saving (thus corrupting the file).

Dead Rising, I hate it when survivors die and I have to reload like 8 hours previously to save them and get a few PPs.

Back when Adventure games were all that was awesome in Gaming, I was a big fan of the Quest for Glory series. I'd faithfully play through each one as every possible class, then import them to the next. Unfortunately, by the time the next came out, I'd lost my import files, so would have to play the previous games again, as all possible classes, to carry them through.

Actually, it wasn't unfortunate at all, I loved QfG

I will in all likelyhood have to start over with Phantasy Star on my new(er) xbox which really ticks me off as I had a level 105 character, an 87, a 65, a couple characters over 50, a few at 48, and numerous characters past level 20.

Experienced Computer User's Rule Of Coping #1: When your computer obediently responds to your not making backups by destroying your data, smile, and vow that the data that replaces it will be in every way better.

I invoked rule more times than I can remember... but never over something as petty as not being an absolute competitionist.

I almost had to restart my Fable 2 game because the continue button from the main menu was just spinning and doing nothing. Fortunately, starting a second character, saving, and going back to the continue screen seemed to have fixed the problem.

Pokemon, 200 hours gone just because my sister lent it to her friend who wasn't in tune with the workings of the "save" option.

I was definitely in this boat, but I hadn't had my 360 very long; all I had to do was replay most of F.E.A.R. and a little of a few other games.

Lets see, for Final Fantasy X my cousin got his hands on my memory card and deleted my save files, forcing me to start from the beginning. Due to starting it and then having a year break I had to start again on Star Ocean 3. Its mainly RPG's that it's happened on really, since the story often doesnt matter I wouldnt need to start again if I forgot it, plus since usually theyre short, it doesn't matter as much starting again.

Oh yeah and I'm on that boat with the xbox games, dead gutted about Morrowind, and Jet Set Radio Future. SHenmue 2 I didnt mind starting again since it was so awesome.

Oh yeah Pokemon too, my cartridge battery went, so my long hours spent on the game was lost, including all my epic pokemon which were all at lvl 80-100... >.< Replaced the battery in it now so I could continue playing, my save is still lost though. =/

all of my xbox 360 games, I lost over 2000 gamerscore (off of 10000+) on my old account so instead getting 2000 gamerscore back, I just started all over again by starting a different account.

I almost had to restart Fallout 3 after 30 hours of play. I got around the glitch though, luckily.

On Oblivion my game glitched during a fighter's guild quest and I could no longer rise in the ranks. Had to start a new game just to continue my fighters guild adventures.

I forced myself to restart Oblivion because I said at the outset that I was going to try to play the game "hardcore"---as in, if my character died even once I was going to delete the save file and after misjudging a ledge while lining up a shot in Fort Urasek I fell off said ledge right into the path of an arrow trap. Death was instantaneous.

Needless to say I learned my lesson about gamer hubris. Fortunately the save was only about seven hours into the game.
