I really cant take a game serous when it makes fans wait this long ofr a DLC (IE half life 2 episode 3) so no, half life as a whole was not as good as people say it was. same with fable for that matter. and i never got into ff7 as much as i did 8.

You do realise that length is a good thing, right? The longer the game, the better, and the more money you save on not having to buy a sequel.
so... you much think Animal Crossing is the best game ever with that logic?

I LOVE Halo.

I think Half-Life is extremely overrated, is very boring, and has a poorly and lazily executed story.

I played a JRPG and I liked it.

I'm a Soulcaliber fan.
You sir have stolen my life. I also love halo, don't like half life much and like JRPGs.

I'm sure it's some kind of sin to genuinely like the Kingdom Hearts series, be in your twenties AND think that 2 was vastly superior to 1. Oh... and to have tracked down the "middle" games (CoM and 358/2 Days).

*shrugs* Oh well.

I have never found any Call of Duty, Final Fantasy, Bioshock, WoW/subscription-based-MMO, or survival horror game appealing. I just don't like them.

Blasphemy? Lets see.

Grand theft auto is crap.

The cars all feel too light, everything is a bit murky, the controls are clunky, you would be better off watching the goodfellas while playing saints row 2.

Bioshock was pretty boring, no real moral dilemma, it had all the ambience of a laser quest game played in an old disused cinema in croydon, only slightly better then hexen or original quake.

All the rock band games are really just dance dance revolution for boys.

Halo is like a cross between quake and mario bros. A gritty shooter with its balls cut off.

Braid would be better on a phone or an in flight game for a plane.

Batman, felt stodgy, seriously. He felt about as stealthy as a shopping trolly on steroids. Only way you could make it stealthy was to play the entire game in 'epiletico' vision. He needed to be about half the size and a lit quicker. Suffered from Bioshock syndrome.

Monkey Island was ok when you were young, but even then you didn't REALLY enjoy it, you kind of liked it, but more as so you could avoid doing homework. It was never really 'that' fun, just you kinda wanted to like it and kinda wanted to laugh in the same way as the girl you are trying to shag makes a joke and you want to really really like it.

The Ps3 and Xbox are actually about the same, a bit like trying to say which of the proclaimers is sexier. They both aren't.
The pc is a shit games computer unless you are willing to invest roughly the same amount of money as the GDP of a small african nation.
All mac games are shit, all the good ones can be played for free as flash games.

The ds and psp are both shit. the DS is a game gear with a touch screen, although the graphics are slightly better than the Wii, which is so shit it is considered the 3rd proclaimer that is chained up in the attic but who has all the writing talent.

The PSP is shit as its by sony, as user friendly as a faulty landmine, no games even after being out for 500 years

Avatar is all that is wrong with games and films. Spending almost a billion dollars to tell us all to look after the planet.
If you had a billion dollars it could be better spent actually doing something GOOD for the planet, rather than make a movie about the land of giant smurfs vs red necks from the future. A billion dollars for that? Really?

Oh and the 3d was shit...yes it was.

It's colours were muted in 3d, the only good 3d bits were when it was ALL computer generated. Panadora only impressed those who have never seen any average cut scene in PC games for the last 15 years. If I had bought pandora as a computer game I would have pressed the bloody space bar ever 15 seconds to cut out all that crap.

When there were actual humans in the film they looked like 2d cardboard cut outs that moved, stuck on a 3d environment.

YOu looked like a cock when you wore the glasses...yes YOU.

ok, let's see how that goes down.

I think he meant it dragged on in parts, e.g the first time you drive that boat, it just dragged on and on

First, he wasn't joking, I've encountered people like that. I think that the idea of a gaming sin is just stupid. I do get much the same reaction when I explain that I don't just dislike Halo, I hate it. It's "hard" for me to play, because I'm just so bored. I own UT3... Stull haven't finished it, I don't really want to lol.

...You realize he was joking right? He wouldn't have put all those 1s in with those !s at the end of "gamer" if he was serious.
OT:...Not playing games? There's no rules to enjoying something unless it's illegal.
Illegal can mean a totally different thing from where you are.
It's illegal to drive on the opposite side of the road in America, but in England, they ALL drive on the opposite side of the road. So no, you can enjoy anything you want. Even hurting other people, but then your just a dick.

EDIT put in wrong place.

ANd what the hell does ..thats just personal preference mean?

Its a ruddy forum, everything is personal bloody preference. You want me to start setting up a lab and doing double blind tests on the proclaimers to see which one induces more sexual excitement in the average person than say a lump of edam?

...

Ok I just did the test. I can say objectively, and with no bias at all, that a lump of edam is in fact objectively sexier than both the proclaimers.

This is science in action

Edit for test not taste....I would imagine both taste pretty disgusting

I also didn't like Half-Life. I played half way through it (so I played a quarter life) and didn't want to go farther.

Well, I thought Bioshock was pretty boring and just not that great overall, is that a 'gaming sin'?

I also hate the Final Fantasy series.
Not yet at least. It isn't has old or ingrained to pop culture for it to be a "sin". FF hate is common enough.

I would have to say...the fact I think that exploiting game mechanics is a cheap and dirty trick to win in Player-versus-Player combat.
game mechanics is one think. Glitches are another.

As long as you've tried the game, and empirically found you did or did not like it, then your opinion is valid. Disregarding a game without first hand evidence is just stupidity.
I have to disagree. I completely disregard Fable 3, and I have not nor will I ever play it. Stupid Peter Molyneux.
And what may I ask is going to be so bad about Fable 3?

OT: Forgive me father for i have sinned,
I found the half life series to be boring
I dont like any of the 2d Final fantasy games(i havent got a chance to play the newer ones)
I rather like Call of Duty games
Fable 1 and 2 are two of my favourite games
Spiderman Web of Shadows was another of my favourite games
I have never owned a Nintendo console (except for a N64, but i was like 5)
The list goes on
I can see you really like fable 1 and 2, which is cool. I felt that the story in both was thin and I didn't dig the fact that you can't die in fable 2 and well, the final boss fight. I felt underwhelmed personally by the first two which indicates that Fable is not the series for me. Disregarding a game because you know it isn't up your ally isn't stupid, its realistic. That is also why I don't buy Madden or Barbie's Pony Adventures or something like that.

Edit: OT I think console (or PC) fanboyism is a sin, an annoying one at that.

FF games after VII

So I was recently talking to someone on a different gaming forum (why I don't know. I was bored) and we started to discuss games that every gamer should play or at least try.

We went through the obvious ones like Zelda, Metroid and Donkey Kong all that fun stuff and it got down to the Half Life series and this is were the argument ensued.

I told him that I never got into the Half Life series and called them boring and uninteresting to me.

To which he replied:

BLASPHEMY!!! HALF LIFE IS THE GREATEST SERIES EVER AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT YOU CAN'T CONSIDER YOURSELF A GAMER!!!11!! ITS A SIN NOT TO LIKE IT!!!
Yes, that was an actual copy/paste. He used all caps.

Now, I pretty much left the conversation there since I try to avoid internet fanboys who use all caps like that, but that got me thinking, doesn't everyone do that to some degree? Some sort of gaming "sin" if you will.
Everyone does it to a degree of course, but I think the real "sin" is in not being able to justify your reasons or at least understand why others like that game. If you just say a game "sucked" or that it was "boring" chances are that you didn't really give it enough time to really form a valid opinion about it.

I REALLY didn't like Shadows Of The Colossus. I found the boss fights to be incredibly frustrating, and the journeys to the bosses absolutely boring.
