Movie-based games are never good.
Mario is a constant.
Link is a constant.
Samus is a constant.
Duke Nukem Forever will be the greatest game ever.

500 posts strong.
These aren't sins by any means. These are facts.
Yes, exactly. These are gamer laws and to say anything to the contrary is blasphemy.

Okay... Gaming sins...

1) My mother completed Cammand and Conquer: Tiberian Sun beofre me (But only because I was resrticted to fortnightly visits).
2) My father finished Goldeneye on the N64 before me (but only because he was a game hog).
3) I only completed American McGee's "Alice", Starcrafty and Messiah by console cheating.
4) I found Final Fantasy to be too long and monotonous to tolerate playing it, yet I love grinding in Fallout 3.
5) WoW never really intersted me.
6) My wife is a die-hard Pokemon fan (the sin being that I married her knowing this).
7) My wife has turned me into a Pokemon fan.
8) Half-Life never interested me.

What do I have to do now? Say 10 "Hail Princess Peaches" or 15 "Our Programmer's?"

I consider it to be a gaming sin if you're one of those special kids who screams "fag, aimbot, queer-fag" into the mic as loud as possible when you die yet All-speak isn't on, so all you're really doing is pissing your team off...scratch that I hate it whenever someone says that crap in a game. It's a game get over it.

FFX is my favorite of the series, and yes I've played them all.

I thought Suikoden 2 was overrated.

I've never played Halo or MW multiplayer.

I thought Beyond Good and Evil was a shitty game. Ditto for Psychonauts.

I really liked the sailing in Wind Waker.

On the subject of the original Half-life, well here's the thing; when people say Half-life is unoriginal, it's like saying Seinfeld is unfunny. Seinfeld invented a new style of sit-com that all the shows that followed copied. It's the same way with Half-life. People don't realize that Half-life literally invented the "scripted cinematic FPS." Yes, by today's standards its rather pedestrian, but back when FPS meant Doom and Quake, it really blew everyone away.

Of course like all things it's not going to appeal to everyone, but that's where a lot of the respect for the game comes from.

Link is a bag of gay and should come out of the closet, if not to be true to himself then just so that the next game has something new... even if it is so small as coming out of the closet.

Yes, I have had this talk with many Nintendo Fanboys and it always ends in the same way... them losing.

I've never really enjoyed any current-gen FPS.

I think that God Hand is far more perfect than Portal (and has a better song at the end).

I don't enjoy Fallout 3, Mass Effect, Dragon Age: Origins or any of those other new RPGs people keep raving about.

I've never really liked any Mario game except Legend of the Seven Stars.

I have genuinely enjoyed several JRPGs and Don't automatically despise turn based combat (it is often executed poorly, but it doesn't have to be).

As regards more recent and slightly less universal phenomena, I thought that the plot to Bayonetta was really easy to understand and pretty well thought out (thought out by a raving lunatic, mind you...) and wasn't bothered by the characters' proportions. This last is because I have actually seen fashion art (something about which the rest of the internet seems to have inexplicably never heard of) and recognize where those proportions come from.

Saying: "*insert game you dislike here* sucks". There are very few people not going to gaming hell.

Oh also, after seeing Division 9 I really wish they had made that instead of L4D.

I like the game Beatdown: Fists of Vengeance... it was a bloody brilliant game.

I dont believe Valve.

I have never played Half Life and thought Half Life 2 was Waaaaaaaaaay too freaking long.

You do realise that length is a good thing, right? The longer the game, the better, and the more money you save on not having to buy a sequel.

Damn, I never knew so many people had so many problems.

I don't recall a game I didn't like because of the game, I only dislike the users or market.

This probably is somewhat off topic, but since you named the thread as such I'm getting something that comes to mind.

The PlayStation port of Megaman X3. I consider the music/sound effect mods they made to be outright sacrilege, especially so when the wonderful Megaman X Anniversary Collection (X1-6 on a single Gamecube disk) features this instead of the SNES original. So yes, blasphemy, but then I guess it is to me because the Megaman and X have always been rather sacred to me.

That and with Megaman music you either love it or don't really care. And if you love it...well you get the idea.

Oh and to top it off, I much prefer Oblivion to Fallout 3 and Morrowind... I think people who prefer Fallout 3 just cant aim for themselves and people who prefer Morrowind think they are somehow more sophisticated because they like the older game... That goes for the people who say they like FFVI... I see what you are doing. Oh and people who claim FFVII is anything like FFVI have clearly retired their brains, eyes and hands because they dont know what the fork they are talking about.

And on a more recent note, there are a lot of babies on Bioshock 2 multiplayer who dont seem to realise that you can use plasmids... as a result you get A LOT of bitching about them.

Oh and I dont use grenade launchers, RPGs, etc. in any game, no skill involved.

And I love nothing more than owning the idiots who think that a glitch is perfectly legitimate because its in the game with the simple phrase "Exploiting a glitch IS a reportable offence, clearly you arent meant to do it."... Or for the bigger idiots who say "Its in the game so it isnt a glitch" (You would be surprised how many times I have heard this on MW2.) I simply laugh at them for a while then set them straight.

I do believe his reply was sarcastic.

My sin would be I refuse to play Modern Warfare 2. Not because it is so popular, but because I believe games need strong single player before being carried by multiplayer. So I won't even give it the time of day to test it since I hear it has a five hour campaign then you grind online play forever.
Yes, but what a 5 hours it was. Great sequences in that game, great sequences.

I didn't like Bioshock, Oblivion, Mass Effect or Dragon Age.

I love Halo AND the Modern Warfare games, which is apparently second in the greatest gaming sins under being a multi-console owner.

I can't play any game from more than two generations back anymore anymore (With a few exceptions... god I can play me some Starcraft).

I don't know why, truthfully. I loved Ocarina of Time, sure, but I just can't pop it in and play it past hitting the open fields without shutting it off. Maybe the gameplay feels old, maybe it's because I've played iterations of the games from later releases.

I tried to introduce myself to some "Required Playing", (Metal Gear, Resident Evil, Metroid, etc), and they just couldn't hold my attention for very long.

As for me, I obviously don't like Half Life, but I also hated Final Fantasy 7, Fallout 3 didn't really impress me and I prefer the 3D Castlevanias to the 2D ones.
Uh... I know gaming's subjective and all that... But, really? All the 3D Castlevanias? Even Judgement?

My 'main' gaming sin is that I don't like the God of War games. Oh, I can see how someone would like them - big bosses, brutally violent, epic scale etc. - but the gameplay never appealled to me. I found it far too mashy and weak. I'd take the precise, deliberate feel of Ninja Gaiden over it any day.

Also, I didn't really like Twilight Princess. My favourite Zelda game was Wind Waker - an opinion that is looked down upon by the same people who hate Viva Pinata for no reason other than how colourful it is. Which reminds me, I also love Viva Pinata.

Also, after the recent ViDoc reveal at X10, I'm really looking forward to Reach.
