I say this to everyone who ever played the first Knights of the Old Republic:
CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARTH!
But his wife, and home world and *tear* yes he did get annoying, but he wasn't that bad
Though God I did enjoy killing that nagging ***** Bastila... After I had beat the game with her as my sidekick of course
Another person who actually liked Carth more than Bastila? Amazing.
In all seriousness, Cart wasn't that bad. I mean, sure he's whiny at first, but the whole point of the relationship quest with him is to snap him out of it. Although... I have to admit I kinda miss the option to punch him when he reverts back to being distrustful after the big plot-twist.
Both Carth and Bastila are a bit annoying in a way that's supposed to support the main character's personality. Carth is emotionally broken, which the PC can fix. Bastila is uptight and has superiority complex, and the PC is supposed to teach her to live a little and that she isn't the most amazing Jedi out there (the PC is).
Fortunately Carth's basic personality wasn't all that bad - it's just when he start talking about his trust issues when it sometimes gets irritating. At least he could take a joke or being called out for his flaws. Unlike Juhani, who pretty much exploded about jokingly suggesting she is a lesbian... She was honestly the only character that was annoying to talk to.
I mean, for all Bastila's and Carth's faults, the conversations with them were fun because you could always choose to make fun of their attitude (annoying the hell out of Bastila was especially great).
