Would you rather people just naturally assume you are all losers who will never, ever even kiss a girl unless she passes out in the pool and you are the only one around who knows how to do CPR? Cause I am happy to do that. Will save me some time.
Besides, spending time away from your partner is key to a healthy relationship. Nothing kills love faster than being stuck with that person 24/7.

On topic:
She plays Farmville... Fuck her...
Woman drives me nuts. Constantly reads shitty vampire novels and watches shitty vampire TV series but wont play the epic Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines.
She plays Farmville every single day but wont even try the infinitely better Harvest Moon.
I swear, if she did not have the most luscious curves I have seen outside of photoshopped mags I would ditch her irritating ass.
Wow. I am sorry for your girlfriend.

My fiance and I game together all the time! We like a wide range of genres, but are restricted to PC gaming.

So far we have played and thoroughly enjoyed:

Diablo 2 (RPG/Hack and Slash)
Borderlands (RPG/loot 'em up)
Alien Swarm (3rd person shooter)
Age of Empires 2 and 3 (RTS)
Battlefield 2 (FPS)
Sol Survivor (very addictive tower defence game)
Supreme Commander; Forged Alliance (RTS; very complex)
Jedi Academy (3rd person action/RPG)

and quite a few others, mostly real time strategy games. I love playing games with my fiance, he is the most convenient, helpful and reliale gaming partner I could have :)

I've never had a problem with any boyfriend or partner about playing games. I remember lazy sundays where we'd get up at like, 11am, go and get subway for lunch and come back and play games for about 9-10 hours.

I love those kind of Sundays <3

I game a lot more than my husband does lol... we've played together on occasion, but not much.

And Rak needs to learn how to avoid threads that maybe, just maybe, aren't for him. That's what the back button is for :p

I used to play a lot with my ex-boyfriend. Mostly racing games, and Castle Crashers, and I tried to get him into Borderlands but he didn't like it too much.

I hate, HATE, [HEADING=2]LOATHE[/HEADING] the assumption that we all have romantic partners in these threads. Are you really that satisfied with making me feel like a loser? If you're such hot stuff that you can get a romantic partner, why don't you spend a little more time with them, and stop talking about it on the internet?
Hey man, I didn't know you'd take it so personally. And, of course I wouldn't assume that everyone here has a partner since we're all uber geeky nerds who post on gaming forums and quite possibly have anime collections. I, for one am lucky to have a boyfriend who doesn't shun my habits, but I'm certainly not trying to rub that in your face. To everyone else, we're still losers.

Holy fucking shit don't get me started on Farmville. Being someone who has a slight .... obsession isn't the right word... um, intense love, well I don't know, with Harvest Moon, it irritates the piss out of me when people insist on playing Farmville. I refuse to play it.

Maybe, Escapist members, we should find a way to talk this girl into playing Sunshine Islands. Although it may frustrate her considering it's an intense strategy game....

On topic: I believe that one day you will be able to convert her to actually GOOD games.

Really? I've had that problem before. I think that one day I might end up marrying a man that doesn't even care anything about video games. That's going to be comical.

It makes me a little sad when we can play together, but as long as they don't nag me about my habit, I think I'll be ok.

What could be more romantic than saving the one you love from underneath the deadly grip of a Hunter? Or distracting a Tank so that he/she can molotov it. Shame you always have two tag-alongs, but you have to make the most of the zombie apocalypse.

I've been able to play games with most of my girlfriends over the years, or at least, they played games.

It's one of my lesser criteria for girls when I want to go out with them. A partner who shares interests is a good catch.

Over-reacting. You're doing it right.

Seriously though, I don't have a significant other and I'm not highly offended by this. Do you get pissed off by someone who talks about owning a nice car or big house because you assume that they're subtly hinting that you're a loser? Calm down. I don't know if you've had a bad day and are just venting here, but seriously there's no need to get all pissy when someone talks about having fun with someone they care about and then ask if others have had similar experiences.

OT: I don't have a significant other at the moment, but I have fun playing with friends both online and off. Gaming is always more fun when you are interacting with someone beyond the game itself.

Me and my boyfriend don't really play games together much, mostly because he plays a lot of shooters and as much as I try, I just suck at shooters. So most of the time I just sit and watch him play. It works, I get to spend time with him and have the entertainment without the concentration/frustration of getting through the level. I've sat through SO many games with him. :)

I do play games on my own time too, but if he's playing I'd rather just watch.
