if we forget the mild crush on Pyramid Head, I can happily say gaming has never affected me in this way.
Wait, what? Brad Pitt, I understand. Psychotic murdering rapist with a weird hat, not so much. Each to there own I guess.

My mum completed the good sonics a few times and now has a wii.

Me and my brother have been playing any game we wanted for as long as we can remember, without so much as a "what a waste of time" or "why not do something better with your time" so I guess were kind of a gaming family.

My mom is a hardcore gamer. She plays WoW, beat Morrowind before any of my siblings, played Portal until her eyes hurt, LOVED Tomb Raider with a passion (when she wore her round glasses she bore a striking resemblance to the main character), and is getting into Red Dead Redemption as we speak (I really hope I still get some time with it...).

My little brother and I are generally better than her at first person shooters and get through games quicker these days, but she is always the first to get 100% completion.
I want to meet your mum!

I'm slowly but surely getting my mum into games. But then she got side tracked by Farmville. *shudder*

My dad doesn't really care that I play games, but my step-mum hates it with a passion, because apparently, ~I'm too 'boyish' and that I wear boys clothes, except for the fact that they are all womens clothes. Oh, and the 18+ games that I play, where I murder and pilage in are 'baby games' and only children play games. Just brilliant logic on display here folks.

My parents generally just leave me to it, except when my dad will incredibly condescendingly say things like "It's good of you to realise that your life doesn't belong to the computer" when I do anything else.

Well we're sort of a gaming family, but I'm the only proper gamer.

I know the most about everything regarding gaming, I'm the one who plays all the hardcore games.

My brother used to game a bit, but he stopped in the last year or so of high-school.

My sister plays games like LBP, the Sims and most recently some kart racers like Modnation Racers.

My mum only ever plays solitaire on the PC. Also, she refuses to believe me when I say that:
a) Our computer is an old hunk of ****.
b) If we actually bought a $1000-2000 computer, we wouldn't have to upgrade in a very long time (she thinks that it'll become outdated in a year and we'd need to get a new one). I've tried to convince her that tech isn't progressing that fast any more and that games are reaching a graphical ceiling, but she won't listen.

And that's my family. Not really gaming-centric, but definitely tolerant of my gaming "habits".

My parents don't know anything about consoles. And I don't really want them to play games. My older brother bought GTAIV a year ago and I think he hasn't opened it even once. He has PS3 but uses it rarely. He mostly plays RA2 and I think he might be buying GT5 when it comes out.

Yes, i play a lot of games, both my brothers plays a lot and all my cousins play videogames. Celebrating christmas with all my cousins used too be an interesting experience with 6 boys, 2-3 consols, 4-6 fresh games and 1 TV.
My mom used to play a lot of SNES and oldschool pc-games like LBA and GTA but she doesn't play that much anymore, exept Klondyke and Solitare. My dad is not interested i games, exept the ones with cars or rock music in them, but i can't get him to pick up a controller. And my grandmother used to play simple causal gamesfor a bit 10-15 years ago.

No. I convinced my little brother to abandon the waters of console gaming for a custom PC (He still plays on the ol' PS2. The last great console.), but my parents are pretty ignorant about gaming- Dad only just realised what modern games looked like when he saw me playing Oblivion and mum's relationship with technology is along the lines of "not until it does the ironing for me"

To one extent or another, my siblings all play videogames. The trouble is, we all like different kinds, so it's rare to actually play together.

Definitely not. Though I tried to make my stepfather to play on the N64, which he was really bad at. And my mom thinks games are still only for kids. Only gamer in my family that I know of is my dad.

My mum believes games are some sort of soul-stealing evil, possible programmed by the devil himself. My dad likes to pretent he thinks the same, but he's a gamer by nature. When we first got Rollercoaster Tycoon he stayed up all night playing it! My mum literally can't even walk across a room in Halo.

By constrast, my girlfriend's family are all gamers, her Brother - while a Nintendo fanboy, admitedly - has both the Wii and the 360 as well as a gaming PC, her Mum at least doesn't think gaming is evil and her dad is usually the one still on the computer when it's time to leave on a family outing.

I've asked her several times to swap... :(

Me and my cousin in America are the only people in my family that even have game consoles.

Well my brother has an Xbox 360, but he never plays it

So yeah, I wouldn't say I have a gaming family >.<

I am a cancer for my family.

Well, to be honest my old man always enjoyed computers and technology and does enjoy the occasional game but he never has time to play unless i'm like... so pops wanna play some command and conquer? Then its do you see my game room, join, hey dont rush. Haha but back to my original statement.

I'm the one with who uncontrollably buys every game i want. And well, i have great taste so naturally other members of my family were like hey... thats cool can i try.

Now my sister is more into casual games but hey she's begging me for my copy of Lego Batman so it's not like she doesnt play console games.

As for my little brother, he is now 3x as bad as i am. Kid plays games at least 8 hours a day now that it's summer, its a damn chore getting him to leave his room and he always pisses and moans and it's not like i dont understand his feeling, many times i have wanted to stay home and play my new game but for me there was always balance in my life.

Still made time for sports and gym and work.

Its a curse and a blessing having a gaming family it brings you together but it can also create a barrier if you aren't reasonable.

My Grandfather will play games like Myst on his computer. My dad will boot up the occasional Medal of Honor game on his.

My sister states she has an interest in games, yet rarely plays them.

Everyone else doesn't play them.

I play the long, drawn-out RPGS, my mom plays the casual and strategy things, my grandmother adores Phoenix Wright and murder mysteries, and my sister.. ehh.. she plays whatever. So, I guess I'm in one too XD

I have a cousin who plays games with me sometimes. She's 14 and we beat RE5 together when it first came out. Her brother and I always played video games, so I'm hoping it had a lasting effect on her. <.< Even though she sucks, it was fun. :) Both my uncles play Madden games, that's about it.
