The Borg from Star Trek: Armada
(Yes, it's an old game, but it still counts.) That game lets you play as human, klingon, romulan, or borg. The other 3 races just try to blow each other up, but as the borg, the other races become another resource. hehe. I love sucking the crew out of their ships with the Assimilator borg ship, taking over their ship, and then using their own guys & ships against them. 8D I still play that game every once in a while.
Note: Armada 2 is nowhere near as good as the 1st one. Try as I might, I just couldn't enjoy it.
The Borg are just plain cool. If they understood psychology and how to manipulate the races with something other than force, they'd be invincible, but that's another story.

Okay in case you haven't met me before or just can't tell, easily my favourite race in any video game is the Sangheili from the Halo series, also known as the Elites. They are proud reptilian warriors with a noble heritage and badass fighting skills and weapons and technology. They are literally made out of awesomeness, the fire of greatness and awe and wonder. God bless the might of the proud Princes of Sangheilios.
Secondly, I would choose the Turians from Mass Effect series. Mainly because they're so much like the Sangheili.
The Geth from ME.
The Geth just have one of the coolest background stories, and I totally support them in their war against organic life. I mean, if I had been granted my sentience by my creators, and then they tried to kill me for their mistake, I would be pretty pissed too.
Plus they look fucking sweet.

the Turians in Mass Effect (story wise at least, you do NOT fuck with the Turians . . . hence the "7 minute war" and all)

I have to go with Malkavian from Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. They're all so charming and articulate. Ya know, in their strange, creepy sort of way.
Failing that, I'd have to say Krogans, from the ME universe. I mean come on, a race so wonderfully badass and dangerous that they had to be neutered? Absolutely brilliant.
EDIT - Oh and the Quarians too. But not because of how awesome Tali is, or how sexy those chicken legs are. Simply because Adam Baldwin voice acts one in ME:2, as does Claudia Black (at least I THINK it's the two of them) and that just gives the race as a whole so many damn points.
