I think it happens if you both try to punch eachother at the same time towards the end of the fight, I'm still trying to figure out what about it made me sad but I'm coming up blank.

I think it happens if you both try to punch eachother at the same time towards the end of the fight, I'm still trying to figure out what about it made me sad but I'm coming up blank.

this is pretty weird cause a while back there was thread talking about emotional parts of games on Games Radars forums

and more than half the people said the end of MGS4 too

Well there's that to, although I wouldn't be terribly surprised if a fifth game came along some day.

yeah I think for me it was the whole ending of cod4
the fact that gaz got owned while dazed on the floor and griggs getting shot at while helping your arse up.
But for me the worst was when you see captain price being given CPR by that russian medic and the medic resorts to thumping his chest.

Then again half life 2 episode 2 had a nasty ending to it as well....

A lot of people always say it's Aeris in FFVII, and hey it IS an emotional moment for people who were playing it.
But something I STILL get in tears about to this day about FFVII is when Tifa remembers the day her mother died. That still breaks me.
There was also the Black Mage massacre in FFIX (just before fighting Black Waltz 3), I was playing that today and it still makes me bitterly tearful.

Oh, the final case of Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations sent shivers of ZOMG down my spine. And for a very personal reason, the second case in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (especially concerning the last piece of evidence)....I'm only going to say it was therapeutic.

And then there was Lavender Tower in Pokemon Red/Blue.
I dare any of you who played that to not get enraged at Team Rocket for that.

Totally forgot about Persona 4, that game had tons of emotional moments, but my favorite by far:

The very final battle, when you finish her off and she starts throwing all those instant death spells and your party members each push you out of the way. The part was awesome in itself, but what made it better is that when I got to that part, the final battle music had gotten to the part of the loop with the "Grand Finale" remix of "Reach Out to the Truth," and after hearing the original over and over again through the hundreds of battles it left me absolutely breathless as that fantastic arrangement of it played as the final battle reached it's climax.
