I'm quite tempted to play Alan Wake and RDR on my new home theater big-ass LED but I'm worried about any technical issues that might occur from gaming on the behemoth. It has a Game Mode but is it still safe?

Thaaanks.

I didn't know that there were risks in playing video games on big ass tv-screens.

I say go for it!

There aren't. It's just a screen, like any other computer monitor.

I want to know where you found a 60" LED. I didn't know they made them that big. How do you game on an LED anyway? Now if you were talking about an LCD that would be different.

You game in morse code. It's generally only considered a cult genre, but some people demand that sort of challenge...

LED is just shorthand for an LCD with an LED backlight. But there should be absolutely no issues with gaming on any modern TV. The issues of burn-in and image retention have long since been mitigated.

OP means that instead of a regular light bulb, the TV is lit by an LED matrix behind the LCD screen.

Much like the one in this review:
LINK [http://www.youreviewelectronics.com/reviews/lcd-tv-reviews/samsung-un60c6300-review/].

Op, you don't have to worry. Screen burn in was only really a problem on Plasma screens, and then only if the image was left still for great periods of time; examples would be having the scrolling tickers from a channel like CNN burned faintly into the bottom edge of the screen.

Your "Game Mode" is only an image quality setting, probably fooling with contrast, brightness, black levels, and so on. You'll encounter no problems playing on your TV.

What a ridiculous question...If Magnifitacular has actually purchased a 60" LED TV, he should know that the only potential problems come from hertz rates between newer consoles and older tvs.

I think the entire purpose of this thread is for Magnifitacular to brag about his new 60" LED TV. I doubt many 22-year-olds have access to that kind of cash, so thank your daddy in more than just your motto.

This seems like it's a big e-penis waving competition.... anyone who buys a big-screen TV like that would obviously have done their homework beforehand anyhow. Obvious braggart is obvious.

It's so enthralling that if you game on it for too long your soul will be sucked into the screen and you'll die. Just a word of warning.

Are you referring to "burn in" it's the phenomena of an image being permanently burned onto the screen.

If so, GOOD NEWS! It only happens when a still image is left on the screen for many hours, and it also ONLY happens to PLASMA TV's, considering you have an LCD, it's not a concern.

GO FOR IT!

As somebody who games on a 106" screen I can tell you that their is no technical issues. All modern day tvs are equiped to handle consoles and especially if it has a game mode. That in itself most likely just changes contrast/brightness/etc. Kind of like how your stereo has a rock/metal/pop/etc mode on it.

Why wouldnt they? A 60" tv isnt expensive at all. The one linked earlier in the thread is only $3000 which isnt all that much. But when you consider you can get a 56" for 1/3 that price its alittle expensive i guess but tvs are dirt cheap these days.
$3000...........isn't that much.

Can I have some cash?

I think he's worried about the Burn In that older plasma TV's suffered from, but it's not an issue in this case.
